• The Chimeran War | Res...
Statement: uh Boss, the Maquis were a French resistance group during ww2, the Maquis in Trek and the Maquis in Resistance are references to their ww2 counterparts.
sad to say this story shall probably never be finished
The crazy thing is that if Russia had not been so isolationist and actually opened themselves up to the rest of the world to ask for assistance, the Chimera would never have been able to take off like they did. The Chimera spent 40 years building up their numbers, technology and infrastructure and for 20 of those years the Russians had confirmed reports and 100% knew of their existence (really they new something was up for much longer than that because they kept losing entire regiments they sent out into Siberia). Instead Russia's own poorly managed government allowed the Chimera to take their time and by the time the Russian's actually started to make a major offense against them it was too late.
So once again it’s Russias fault 😂
@dakotalange2858 Ain't it always? 😂 at least UK almost kicked their asses until they pulled out their stupid flying machines.
You start to see one of the major issues with the Resistance franchise here- they made the Chimera so over powered that the only way humanity could win was via plot contrivance and the Chimera basically having a civil war between the military and 'feral' chimera. Really reminds me of the Borg in Star Trek TNG- they wanted to do more stories with them, but they made them so powerful that they kept running into a wall when writing them.
The fact the RUSSA was protecting humanity for so long by themselves is heartwarming and hilarious as they could’ve just said hey we are being attacked by F*CKIN ALIENS HELP US!!!!
“Sir, urgent telegram from Russia!”
“Well what’s it say boy?”
“‘Dear Christ -stop- Send Help -stop- FUCKING ALIENS -stop-‘“
The Revolution failed, and being Tsarist Russia....definitely arrogant till the end.
@@s0cc451 Or afraid that the outside world would take advantage of the situation.
In terms of Battlefield Los Angeles I actually agree with the theory that some people came up with that aliens of that invaded we're from an already defeated faction and came to Earth to try to rebuild
Also if want more Resistance content, then I have to recommend Roanoke Gaming’s Chimera biology videos, they are amazing.
Also sorry about the spam.
As a local planetary bound force the Chimera have demonstrated themselves to be a force more capable and more intelligent as a coordinating swarm and strageic mind then a Genestealer uprising or wars with the Locusts from Gear of War. When it comes to escalation and flexibility in adapting more advance technologies and installing them into it's forces the Chimera are much more efficient and powerful in those aspects and fields unlike most organic swarms and infestations.
For the True Chimera who knows how powerful they are in their peak and what they are capable of accessing and deploying.
Can you imagine how fucked the galaxy would be if the Tyranids incorporated the Chimera into their forces?
@@Azorees-oj5zr
The Chimera could potentially do the same.
@@thorshammer7883 probably but they’d still be planet bound, which is a a far better result than the Tyranids winning.
@@Azorees-oj5zr
I wouldn't knock the True Chimera from possibly resisting a Tyranid hivefleet long enough to adapt to it's own adaption. Genestealers would easily be destroyed and possibly the properties of the Tyranid's genes which they hold can be permently severed from the Hivemind on the local levels and the traits subverted to serve the Chimera's properties.
It is possible to cut the connection of the Tyranids from the Hivemind though difficult it is possible especially if you are doing a more local covert type of strategy for the long run.
@@thorshammer7883 oh okay you’re talking about the pure Chimera, I was just talking about the Chimera created by the virus.
Yeah the pure Chimera would probably be able to win and yeah both the pure Chimera and the ones created by the virus would eradicate a Genestealer cult with ease (I’d hesitate to call it fight, it’d be more like a massacre.
The pure Chimera might not even be limited to a single galaxy, they could be as powerful as the Ceph from Crysis (which is not outside the realm’s of possibility), in which case most of the 40k galaxy is toast.
The aliens in Battle Los Angeles are so weak that the humans in Resistance could probably stomp them, give said humans reverse engineered Chimeran weapons and it'd be like having a Space Marine fight a UNSC marine.
To be fair some of the Chimera’s weapons are pretty overpowered, the Auger rifle is something you’d expect the bloody Necrons to make and use.
@@Azorees-oj5zr Funnily enough the Maquis managed to somehow make it better, which is terrifying since the Auger is ALREADY an insane weapon and the Maquis went ahead and somehow upgraded the thing. Then there's the BM002/3 Razor, because the British decided they wanted a Bullseye to shoot energy blades that bounce around and as a consequence the primary and alt fire BOTH use what is one of the most common and plentiful ammo types on the planet.
@@kabob0077 how the shit did they manage to upgrade the thing?
It was already a fully automatic rifle that simply laughed at the idea of cover and armour, just how do make something like that better?
Also I thought the BM002/3 razer was an American invention? Though I could be thinking of a different weapon, I’ve only played Fall of Man and 2.
@@Azorees-oj5zr They gave it a dome shield, made the bolts BIGGER and do more damage (somehow) and the shield reflects enemy fire. Oh and the shield charge regenerates overtime, because why not? And technically it wasn't even the Maquis who did this, it's _Rolland Mallory_ and he made the thing for himself, he may be a right prick but he's a genius for this marvel of reverse engineering, if that was mass produced that may have leveled the playing field a bit more in humanity's favor.
You're thinking of the V7 Splicer, that's just a gun that shoots saw blades, the BM002/3 are reverse engineered Bullseyes (With 3's being the Advanced Bullseye equivalent) that have the altfire replaced with a charge-up energy blade of death that's the unholy offspring of the V7's blades and the Combine AR2's Energy Ball (It instantly kills most things on a fully charged shot) and the best part about it is that it doesn't have a separate ammo pool, it just uses the ammo already in the magazine and you can release it at anytime because it only uses however much ammo it has used to "charge" the shot. It's the CE Plasma Pistol or Rifle of Resistance Retribution, it's a great weapon for practically every encounter, the ammo is plentiful (Being that you can use the same ammo as the Hybrids use in their Bullseyes), and it's surprisingly powerful.
@@kabob0077 god damn, now I want one…… even more than I already did anyway.
I know that a PC port of this game trilogy is unlikely but I still want one.
While I do own a PS, I do wish that Sony would port some of their games to other platforms.
The Chimera are one of the greatest antagonist in video games
Right up there with the Locust and the Helghast.
@@Azorees-oj5zr The Helghast are antagonists you'd rather be playing as, the protagonists of Killzone are too unlikable...
Aliens *appear in modern day Earth*
Aliens “we are hear to conquer you please resist”
Humanity “bet” *unleashes all 12,512 nukes*
*_Proceeds to do fuck all because their a million times more advanced than us._*
Who says we shoot them? Better to die free
@@dakotalange2858 response: touché.
Statement: while I really don’t like the Templin institute, I’m really happy that you’re having a look at Resistance.
It’s a great universe, which is unfortunately restricted to PlayStation.
HA! Jokes on you boss i already know what the russian sleep experiment is! Granted i had nightmares for 3 days stright but yeah
Statement: I’ve only played the first two games but both were very enjoyable, the second game though has the single most frustrating levels in any game that I’ve played.
It is a bitch and a half to get through.
Get Retribution, it is by far one of the BEST PSP games ever and one of the best Resistance games.
Also, I miss Resistance 2's coop, that shit was so fun and unique. Before I had a 360 I spent HOURS playing that and LP2.
@@kabob0077 I don’t own a psp and I don’t plan on buying one just for one game.
@@Azorees-oj5zr Emulate it.
Or you can watch a review or something I guess...
@@kabob0077 I’ve already watched someone play through the whole game.
2:50 the Russian sleep experiment is a myth anyway.
Question: How do you guys think the Warhammer 40k groups and population would react to another set of humans who so ridiculously op and xenophobic themselves that they could be to the Imperium of Man's eyes something no longer human anymore but neither xenos or even Warp related sorcery. But more almost like the C'Tan but taken to a unrestrained level with no restrictions that to the Necrons this is something that surpasses even their super weapons like the Breath of the Gods.
Enter the Transcendence humans from Xeelee Sequence. A group of unhinged reality warping immortal humans who went on a bloody xenocide rampage across the galactic super cluster around the Milky Way after the Interim Coalition of Governance collapsed. They went on such a unchecked power grabbed that they began messing up the real space of the entire universe in their many experiments which were intended to effectively erase all human suffering from the entirety of time both past and future and all timelines simultaneously which effected the universe so much it forced the overpowered Xeelee to respond to the Transcendence and effectively put them contained within dimensional time outs after defeating them.
I think even the Emperor of Mankind may find the Transcendence to radical and unable to be controlled while the Chaos gods begin having a massive chill crawl up their Warp spines and everyone else realizing they are at the mercy of these hyper cosmic human entities.
…what? What’s that from?
@@dakotalange2858
Xeelee Sequence as I have said where the Transcendence humans come from.
God I love the books
@@Mondy667
With my perspective of what I have learned the Transcendence are pretty much what the Emperor of Mankind was pretty much hoping for Mankind to one day achieve in his many plans.
Well I think the Emperor might realize just how overly unrestrained the Transcendence fulfill that dream of his a little bit too much.
I already know about the Russian sleep experiment
So you are saying you wouldn't be a fan of r/hfy
Old man how would the Chimera fair in 40k?
Very well.
If they are able to spread among the regions and able to make a strong foothold they should be able to be a powerful force. Who knows what the True Chimera are capable of other then we can Intel with perspective that they are more advance then the Earth trapped ones and can terraform planets as big as earth in a short span of time and that they prefer cold climates and environments over very hot ones.
@@thorshammer7883 the worst case scenario is if the Tyranids incorporated the Chimeran virus into their weapons.
Imagine how much damage a Chimeran spire would do to an Imperial, Tau, Chaos or Ork defensive line or a how quickly it’d devastate an offensive.
@@Azorees-oj5zr
Perhaps the Chimera can do the same to the Tyranids vise versal if they are in the correct set of circumstances and can defeat a small Tyranid hivefleet within their area.
@@thorshammer7883 maybe either way whatever planet their on is doomed, no one is taking it back.
