Insightful conversation. Fareed links so many different things happening around the world and creates a narrative that is logical and factual.

Dear Dr Fareed Zakaria, I'm really a fan of your ideas, your books, and tv programmes on CNN. I do however want to share my perspective regarding your assertion that "the majority Muslims want to share in modernity, rather than violent jihad, etc..." In my view, that the "majority of Muslims" only want to enjoy the technological, and life comforts that modernity provides, not the fundamental philosophical thinking behind modernity/modernism/modernization. I'd like your response.
    Thank you

You hit the nail on the head. Muslims in India (a relatively liberal country) live in ghettos, have not assimilated and do not want to educate themselves, besides wanting special rights.........after 1500 years of being there. They may want to move to the West or Dubai.........but will repeat history there.

I am not shy about expelling Turkey from NATO. Turkey is placing internal politics of the day (electioneering) ahead of collective security. Placing its ties to the enemy above the security of the world. If Turkey is to be allowed to subvert Swedens desire to join NATO then I firmly believe Sweden should be brought into the 5 eyes....hence six eyes and be protected as an ally of that organization. Turkey must decide if it is going to be an ally or otherwise. I see no question in this at all.

very brilliant analysis of state of world starting from 80s to 2023 . But sadly when it comes to India he still has disdain and includes it the group of Turkey and Pakistan. very biased and cannot demy its coming from his religion .
Also when he talks of Alqueda - Not one has given such a sympathetic view as Fareed and never calls them as Islamic terror. very sad and a blot to his credibility

59:44 I think that Fareed must render unto Russia that which is Russian. Rocket engines. Nuclear energy. Still supplying enriched uranium in 2023 to Europe and the USA who pay in hard cash. This seems hypocritical. Russia is an aviation hub and could also proliferate nuclear weapons. There are some things they are good at. 1:01:28

I don't understand why they are celebrating a guy who was found plagiarizing other authors twice or more. He was suspended from CNN then made him back, what a worse model to follow.

There is not an imperial war, which Zakaria did not support. These wars created the exodus of immigration from the Middle East and Africa and the rightwing reaction against it. When America was busy with these futile wars, China quietly rose to the top.

Fareed has always been negative about Modi and India. I presume he likes politics of Pakistan. He has gone super left and thus his views on the program are too twisted to watch

      "Super Left" 😂😂😂😂😂
Please read a little bit about him and his research, probably you are someone on super right, alongside terrorists, fascists and andh-bhakts, that's what you feel this way.

If somebody being critical of Modi makes it too difficult for you to watch it, you gotta realise if you're following a human or have you considered him a demi-god beyond criticism/questioning?

Zakaria used the wrong word lucky, there is no such thing as lucky if you believe in God. Everything has its place in time. Humans are just the instrument of his creator. We are all actors in a play scripted and directed by God. It will be truly lucky for Zakaria not being born as an untouchable, because his creator wants him to be different.
