While this works I would suggest using a hypervisor like Proxmox and run Home Assistant in a VM. Yes there is a little bit of overhead, but it makes things simpler in the long run and if you have spare resources you can run other VM's or containers. Then you can have Pi-hole running.

I tried running proxmox on my personal home assistant install but i ran out of space so switched to this method and it has worked very well for me
Is the 8gb internal Memory enough?
