That color. Kia did a hell of a job with that car. I had 2 Kia's that lasted me 17 years and 360,000 miles between the two. They really stepped up their game when Hyundai bought into them. That and they went after the German designers and engineers.

Stinger GT & Genesis G70 are my favorite cars... can’t afford them yet so currently in my 2011 Sonata till then that I’ve owned since 2016. 165k miles on the dash. 🙂

Above all, you know that Porsche or Bmw, or Mustang you love? Yeah, when it is -30, they recommend you don't even start them.
Stinger, -50, no issues. My mustang, -25 , yeah, not so much.
I have a S550 16 GT and no issues driving or starting that car all year long regardless if our Canadian weather is -30 or colder!

@@liljagarelilja3088 Not running any type of boost and just 91 Bama race tune with supporting mods. We don't just get alot of cold weather but a shit load of snow so the Blizzak WS80's get me through all of that snowy wonderland!

I got one new out the door for 35k base gt and it's great for the price and my dealer worked with me, no problems so far, got a black with red interior!
I got a white GT with AWD and car is very fast.These folks--the KIA has the same stats as most American V8s.Look at th KN cold air intake--needs 2 of them and looks like it will add a lot--especially on colder days.

@@Jv19979 KIA will do it and also put the intakes on if I want them too.They tuned--flashed or reset the computer after my exhaust and it made a diffrence.So yes--i knoow the car has to be tuned and i got KIA assisting me on this and keeping my warranty.

Not one issue, and he loves driving it in the winter.
Saw one with a stinger badge instead of KIA at the front. Got confused seeing the car with a different badging. Looked awesome.
if you like this stinger, you should check out the original limited stinger gt that came out in 2018 that was yellow only 400 made and i think looks better. kinda why i bought it over the gts.
also you don’t activate “drift” mode. it adjusts itself when you start to slide with traction control off

Yellow looks great and is my preferred color, but they had to repaint most if not all of those. Also, Drift mode happens when you put it in sport mode and then turn off both traction control and stability control.

Orange is my favorite color
You get into "drift mode" simply by entering Launch Control. The programming takes over from there and puts 100% power to the rear wheels when the car is hooned hard enough. I'd never use it. But I love the color. May yet wrap my Silky Silver GT1 in that color. :D
They sit at the dealerships out here in Okc. Still charging full price for them so the people interested end up in chargers, manual accords, or strangely Buick regals.
Wait until the mid engine Corvettes come out on the lots, then all of those cars will be sitting on the lot lols.

If you like the look, consider the Stinger Premium. All the tech features in the world, plenty of power at 255HP, and fantastic fuel mileage on regular. And the best warranty in the business. Love mine which was out the door at $33,700.
Why is it that Alcantara is considered "premium" when it's actually cheap to manufacture? Will this stuff wear badly or be able to withstand constant touching of it? Especially on the steering wheel.
Nope, alcantara sucks and wish all these boy racers would realize it by now. It’s good on a race car but not a car that you’ll drive constantly
I think it's quite a good looking car; I like the liftback look and the overall value of the Stinger platform and I hope it's not killed off
Got dusted once in my 300 then again in my STI. This car is no joke!
Something tells me I should wait for the 2nd Gen Stinger GT with more power fr the v6 & better handling characteristics. Or even a smaller high-performance model that competes with the GT86.
Rumor has it, there might not be a 2nd gen. Think they're currently accessing the business case as the current gen hasn't be an successful as they'd hoped. Hopefully they'll be a 2nd gen. It's such a competitive car.

I recently bought a 2020 Stinger GT2 RWD. I looked at buying a 5k-ish miles GTS D-AWD. I actually like the Federation Orange, though not quite as much as my Ceramic Silver with the red leather interior. If the GTS had been based on a GT1 or GT2, rather than the GT, I might have bought it. I wanted some of the tech that was in the upper spec cars. I really wanted that dynamic AWD system with the LSD. The fact that it was such a small run was attractive, too. I had no interest at all in having an Alcantara wheel and armrest, though.
Saw one in the showroom the other day. Gorgeous car. Severely expensive. And just like the Telluride they want sticker for it. Zero wiggle room. Go down the street to the ford dealer & get a mustang for nearly the same price after negotiating the price. Would’ve like to see you drive it in the video, certainly what most of us wanted to see. Fail on Tommy.
Why would someone looking for a four door family sedan with a liftback go buy a Mustang? That is like telling people looking for a Mustang to buy a four door Toyota Camry.

acidnut - I actually wouldn’t buy the Stinger. I’m not into these “sedan coupes”. I just say, to each their own. Some people cross shop way different vehicles than I would. With that, I just don’t question that or comment too much on it and as I say, “to each their own.” It is a very personal choice.
I own a Mustang GT350 and a Mustang EcoBoost HPP automatic. People don’t understand why I have both. I have them because. Old school manual transmission raw power, hard to launch GT350. Then I have a new tech, lightweight, launch and run mid 4 sec 0-60 times all day long and only be about 1/2 second slower to 60 than me driving my GT350. Fun and funnier! Haha. Then I have a 69 Ford Bronco built to stock 302 C4 automatic, and an extremely powerful 1970 GMC with a 502 Big block running a 6 speed automatic. The truck is a long box as well, lowered 2” and 4”. Just gotta have some fun. I am not sure which one I like more, depends on the day I think. My daily driver is a F350 XLT FX4 PowerStroke SuperCrew bone stock! Haha. That one has to change soon, probably a Ranger FX4 SuperCrew that I will tune the crap out of. Void the warranty but have a bit of a sleeper truck. We will see.

Acidnut I highly doubt that anybody in the market for a 4 door family sedan has the Stinger in their list. However if they are in the market for a sports car the Stinger is likely to be on the list.

In my opinion, the sales of the Stinger GT are decreasing because you can't justify paying so much money for a Kia, but you can for a Genesis

Sales #'s do indicate a distinct downturn in Stinger sales nationwide and Kia has expressed concern. It is a shame. It's a terrific vehicle in so many ways. I fear the KIA dealers, at least in my area, may be partly to blame for this. I visited (2) area dealers on August 31st....last day of the month with the intention of leaving one of them with a Stinger GT (the lowest V6 trim level). Neither was willing to deal much despite the existing and sizable lease cash from Kia at the time. I ended up getting a Genesis G70 3.3T (Essentially mechanically identical to Stinger GT) THAT DAY for a MUCH lower price, despite it having a higher MSRP than the Stinger GT.

@@devinbender8428 Stinger has substantially more back seat space and much more cargo space. Looks inside and out are sportier. That being said, the G70 has a classier look inside and out, is a little lighter so a bit more tossable and Genesis offers concierge service. I have to admit, I'm still "stinging" just a little from having to "resort" to a G70. :)

It’s a nice value. Everything on the GT1 plus AWD and the trick rear dif for about a grand.
It's between GT and GT1 with some added things unique to the GTS.
The problem with this car is its sister car. The Genesis G70. The engine is perfect for the size of the car and it seems more high end. I know the back seat is not to scream about but that car is awesome.
I needed the space in the back for passengers and the overall trunk space. Plus I find the Stinger MUCH better looking.

I work and buy for a used dealership in Orlando who carry Forte ,Elantra and Sonata's These cars are made cheap the plastics are thin and brittle windows motors are junk interior is cheap in materials quality and has old engine technology with bearing issues.Used Kia's are dime a dozen at the auctions I buy from. Kia's we sell are also coming in broke down more than the German cars we sell.But we have never sold a Stinger though.We put motors in used Kia's all the time we but At least it is not Nissan's CVT transmission which can break as early as 40K miles on them.
My stage 2 APR Audi S4 has 114k and runs great even tuned.

Heard the sales for the stinger arent great. They could just raise the roofline by two feet and call it an SUV and this would be the top selling car in America.

To activate the drift mode, you simply have to set it as if you're setting for Launch Control Mode... (Traction Off, Sport Mode).
Yes I saw it when it came out.
Drift mode is launch control but longer. Throw it in sport and hold down the traction button to disable all the stability controls. It'll pop up and tell you it's in drift mode. Think shifter has to be in manual mode as well. Find a safe empty parking lot or track, lock the steering, put it in first and floor the gas to test it. Did it on a test drive but figured the orange would be too much of a cop magnet and got a blue GT 👮
I love my HiChroma Red 2018 AWD Stinger GT Limited (Canadian version) that I bought slightly used a month ago at a bargain price from a local Kia dealer. I just put winter wheels and tires on it, and can't wait for the snow to arrive. And since I suspect that Kia won't be making many more of these (all versions), because sales have not been up to what they were hoping for, this might even become a classic with time ?
How much is bargain price, I want to know how low I should be negotiating for... thanks

It depends on how motivated the seller is. Some Kia dealers are willing to go the extra mile to sell their unsold or slightly used Stingers (demos or otherwise). And it also depends on how much you're willing to pay for such a car.

This car is really nice looking, but it's missing some of the features from the GT2. My question is why make this limited model if they weren't going to fully load it?

@@zekeo6163 that's just it, most people aren't paying this kind of money to lose features, but if you got the money to throw away than there are other cars that are more powerful and much faster. Right now in Australia you can get the carbon fiber treatment on any Stinger for an extra 5k, so I would rather have the carbon fiber on a fully loaded GT2 than some childish "drift mode" function.
You should have bought this instead of your Model 3.

shane blue sky - How could Kia be unimpressed by the sales of just 800 special edition cars?? I’ve seen a few Stingers on the road, but not this special GTS model.
I like everything except that they still haven't fixed the one thing I dislike about it...make the hood vents function. Even just as heat engine exhaust would be an acceptable excuse.
If you didn't know about the Kia Stinger then you should just crawl back under that rock and don't worry about that shiny thing in the sky!

I was looking at a 2018 gt2 and passed on it and got my dream car the 650i gran coupe msport xdrive model. So glad I passed on the Kia my brother bought one and I drove it and have also been a backseat passenger. Not a comfortable car, good power delivery but not much else to get excited about. I’ll stick to my gas guzzling twin power turbo V8 in the BMW over the v6 any day.
In Russia you can get higher spec M340i for the price of this. But for some reason you guys get it for crazy cheap(( jealous
Love the Stinger but we have 2 variant of it in Malaysia n boy it ain't cheap one is the 2.0 cost 260k the other one is the GT 3.3 cost 380k
If they put this engine in Forte Skoup with bulging fenders, then they have something. Or they make a stinger coup with only 2 doors.
US Stingers typically have the Kia badge on the liftback, does GTS really get the Stinger script? Or possible pre production model?
pb m this edition, along with another edition launched last fall have the stinger badge replacing the kia logo

The GTS doesn't have KIA on the back, it has exactly what is in this video.

This car is about the equivalent of the GT1 model with a few extra carbon fiber add ons. The GT2 model has the same engine but adds a lot of extra features.
If you want rear wheel drive then simply get the RWD model and save many thousands of dollars.
This is probably the worst model you can possibly get of the Stinger.
It is a trim between the gt and GT1 features wise. The reason you would go for this one is because this has an LSD with the AWD system. The GT1 has an open diff in the back.
Unless you live in an area where you believe you need AWD...like where winter actually happens.

Stinger is a fast car
Alcantara starts wearing out in little pieces of fuzz after months of use. It's garbage material 4 any High use area. I don't know why keep promoting like it's some great material. Why were you breathing so hard through this it was like Darth Vader. Also why didn't you drive the damn car.
Its funny how car manifactures made synthetic to be premium for weight saving in sport cars
Middle aged forty somethings like me have the credit and money to buy these things. They've come a long way from that garbage the south Koreans put out in the 80s and 90s. But.... It's still a Kia. It's probably not on most short lists to buy. Too bad. It looks like a great car. What does the new corvette start at again?
About 59K. Not sure that's a good comparison as this is a GT and can be used for every day driving. I could never use a vet like that. Both great cars IMO but different from each other. Would love a Stingray convertible but would have to go Stinger for now.

@Adam I was talking about car guys specifically. Most non car people dont even know what an f150 is.
It looks cool in pics and videos. Up close in person it doesn't appeal much. For me interior and seats look dated. Again that's my opinion. 2 times I went to showroom with a plan to buy it. 1st time I test drove it I couldn't find comfortable driving position. And then after 6 months when I sold my other car I went again but when I mentioned to co-workers and friends that I am considering Kia without even asking me which one they said no because brand doesn't have appeal especially when I have kept Saab 9-3 Turbox, Infiniti Q50S Nissan Maxima etc. I felt like putting 50K on a car and then carrying the weight of badge and explaining friends especially when know that I love cars it was not worth for me.
And finally I agree it's fast. But other than that nothing special.
Those are my personal thoughts. Please don't beat me up.

Why?? I'd pick analog gauges any day, over any digital display. These are very nice clean looking.

The coolest thing about this car is drift mode. No one actually knows how to activate it but Kia charges you for it anyway. This car is just one big gimmick.
Traction off, manual mode. Even in its "gimmick" trim its a better value and better car than what the Germans offer at this price.
Yeah, I know how to do it and have done it...and when you buy one, they give you a pamphlet that explains it all. So, yeah...there are people who know how to activate it.

Cool car but holy crap was this hard to watch. The first-person view with a shaky camera was awful. Did you not have video stabilization turned on or a auto-stabilizing gimble/holder? Far too much hand movements causing the camera to go out of focus.
I want one of those cars so bad the only thing wrong with that car would be a has no center clock infinity clock Mercedes clock that's the only thing this car is missing.. one detail.
If only you could get a stinger and Supra side by side. They are both very similar on paper but how far apart are they on a track
NO increase in hp 3rd model year in production, no REAL heat extractor vents in hood, no blackout of upper rear roof panel to blend sunroof seamlessly into rear glass & NO Sport or Bi-modal exhaust. KIA, this wish list was plausible & very easily achievable. It's a NO for me.

Orange is just not my first choice for a car color
As you could see I have a soft spot for fast Fords and know the colours every well.. Being an expat and former fast Ford owner I could assure you that Kia has lifted that colour from a Ford colour pallet... If we go back to the early 90s there was a colour in the Ford line-up which was called sunset orange and later they add an outrageous orange in their Mk1 Focus ST range is called Electric Orange. I also noticed this rear light cluster could be lifted straight from a Fusion/Mondeo.... Even those wheels could be found on a Mk3 Focus ST... Nice car all the same but waaay too over-priced..

So, the GTS just brings the Stinger to the same level as the G70, in terms of drivetrain hardware and software (ie drift mode and a rear LSD on AWD models).
The rest is just fluff.
crxtodd16 a bigger car with more useable storage is not fluff. Its why so many fools are buying suvs.
