@cohenhaywood10 this place was built by them, only for those who were there in the island. The siblings and others you are talking about is actually in the after life. If they move on from this place, they will meet them there.
@@chazukire6722 Bro on Church scene, all of characters was dead in real life and they were in parallel universe and they're gonna move on,Am i understand right ?
@@gezginpolat107 The church is a place between the world and heaven as far as i know. It was built by them so they can come together and remember the life they had on the island. Once they had all remembered, they could choose to move on or not to which was the case with Ben.
shadowofthestatue i dont watch a lot of shows anymore so i dont know how their soundtracks are, but with LOST, the thing i liked about LOST soundtracks are that they were original scores. we rarely heard any music that had singing in it, except a few in season 1 but that was it. they didn't use any mainstream music which in my mind was perfect because LOST had to feel like it was in its own universe.
Let me be the pathetic one to say that I think they all died in the plane crash and that the island is a transition between life and the afterlife. When you die on the island you have endured the purgatory and proven your right to go to heaven. However the island needs a guardian which is why Hurley must stay to make sure the newcomers will prove their worth. Just my pathetic theory
gris186 thats a good theory, but it isn't how it actually goes. It's literally explained in this scene that everything that happened to them was real, the island wasn't purgatory, the flash sideways were. It's all in this dialogue.
If Claire was dead in the crash, she would never given birth to Aaron. Even Jin & Sun wouldn't have conceived their daughter. If all the characters were dead in the first place, they would have never developed those feelings of love and friendship that connected them at the end of the story.
I finished Lost recently, for the first time. I remember in 2010 i watched parts of The End" without watching the show (only watched some episodes and/or scenes), and since then i always thought they were dead the whole time because of the people you mention, i mean was that a popular belief or what? I really thought that was the reason people hated the ending (because that would be awful), but it didn't happen like that. So, WTF? I don't get people. I bet many of them didn't watched the whole show. Lost ended up being better than i thought it would be.
You're right. It wouldn't make any sense if they were really dead the whole time. Some people bashed the ending without even understanding it, some fans disliked it because of a supposed lack of answers, but Lost was always more about the characters than about the mysteries. What happened on the screen, flashbacks, life on island and flashforwards about 3 years off the island of the Oceanic Six's group, it all really happened. The flashsideways in season 6 were a place that the ex-losties created together to meet each other again after their deaths. Every character's death happened at different times: Shannon and Boone died in 2004, Sun,Jin, Juliet and Jack in 2007, Claire and Kate it's not known when, because the Ajira's group left the island at the end while Jack's dying, etc. Ji Yeon and Aaron lived their life off the island. They were in the church together to move on just as we ever knew and loved them, i.e. Aaron as a baby because they even knew him as a baby. All the characters will be connected forever from the relationships of love and friendship, since the love can survive everything. Not only the characters but even the viewers are involved in letting go and moving on together. A strong spiritual ending so touching and actually beautiful.
Too many people either casually watched the show, or hadn't paid enough attention during its run, and then completely misinterpreted this final scene. The cut away parts to Jack dying in the bamboo field, the plane flying over him as he lay dying (which was Lapedis and the Ajira plane with the few remaining survivors leaving Hydra Island, not Oceanic 815 - but some people didn't understand that either) and then the plane wreckage during the credits, led some people to think that was an extension from the original pilot which was showing Jack (and everyone else) dying/dead during the original plane crash ..... which is was not. It is difficult to remember 6 years worth of show at the end of a series like this. Rewatching it in just a few weeks time on Hulu is much more satisfying.
I was STILL confused even after watching it multiple times!!! Just today did someone finally explain it so that I understood exactly what happened. Thanks :)
@cohenhaywood10 the fact that you still don't understand how season 6 was different and didn't need the 1st 5 seasons to explain it shows us you need to go watch, maybe a sitcom. Not hard to follow the plot of those.
GORDO HUMILDE , notice the stain glass window behind him? You don't see those in churches. This show is way deeper than most realize. Darma, shambala ....all of it. Darma is CERN. The island is our 3D reality here.
Extremely clever and original. Beautifully emotional. We spoke about this in class once, and supposedly people who have a harder time grasping spiritual concepts in literature also dislike concepts such as this.

When jack realizes he died I started to tear up, so many memories with my family watching this show. Thanks you Lost 2004-2010 a time I will never forget.
This scene was gut wrenching to me. Christian made it pretty clear. Everyone eventually dies sooner or later. Everyone that survives after Jack died on the island eventually dies. Everyone is put into the "flash sideways" or post life after death. It doesn't get explained why or how everyone is put into the post life. I think that's where your beliefs or religion come into play. There is no timeline in the post life. Desmond had flashes of his past life and remembers everyone from the island. That's why he went on a mission to help everyone remember who they were, how they were all connected, and how they died from their past lives. Once everyone remembers and accepts what happened in the past, they will be ready to move on. It's up to us to decide where they will move on as soon as they walk into the light Christian opened the door to. I think they ended this beautifully.
Desmond was the constant, he could move his conciousness back in time and into the future AND even into the future where he was already dead in the flash sideways world :)
I believe the heart of the island is the light shining through the church doors as Christan walks through. He's moving on, his life and consciousness being absorbed back into the light.
Damn, this is SUCH a powerful scene. For me, the most emotional part is when Jack asks "For what?" and Christian replies "To remember... and to let go," and the soundtrack kicks in. I think it's so emotional because the purpose of this entire finale was to let the audience remember all the fantastic and heartfelt moments in the show... and to help them let go. So when Christian says "To remember, and to let go", it's like he's telling the audience that it's time to let the show go, and to say goodbye to all the characters that they've loved for so many years.
“The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these people” is the line that hits the hardest. It’s a perfect summation of the experience that the characters shared, which was learning and growing together in this horrifying yet beautiful situation they all found themselves in. The viewers needed the characters as much as the characters needed each other.
Isn't that a reflection of life...many have survived drug gangs, separatist violence, terrorism, abuse, war, or horrific personal losses like a losing family members in a house fire or car accident. We are compelled to remember them, honor what they've meant to us...and let THEM GO. Sometimes it's about forgiving the harms done to us and letting the pain and anger or fear go. Sometimes it's letting go of a very powerfully strong attachment to someone and then we can move on...to wherever that might be.
When I watched the finale I started to tear up a bit when Claire and Charlie were reunited and I thought that was going to be the emotional high point. Then this came on and I was full blown crying and didn't really stop until it was over. Fucking great finale
It buffles me too. The ending offers closure in the best way possible. It's a happy but not cheesy ending. They got redemption and a happy afterlife. They moved on. The transformation of Jack from a man of science to a man of faith, his outbursts up until the moment thathe realized it's his destiny to protect the island, i don't care what anyone says, Lost is in my top 2 shows!
This conversation saved my life. I love LOST, I love Jack, I love Christian, I love everything about this show. This show will be with me till the end of time.
I love how Lost is not called that because they are lost on an island. It’s because they are all lost as people, and through the island, found their purpose. They found meaning in their lives. 😢
The overall plot of Lost was people who had fucked up pasts coming to terms with it. The Island was just a fancy backdrop for that. So this ending has everything to do with the overall plot of Lost.
I recently just got into LOST and finished the series a few days ago. I remember years ago, people made such a big deal about the ending and how confusing and shitty it was. After finishing the last episode and seeing this scene I'm so confused as to why people were puzzled by this all. I understood immediately that they weren't all dead. This show is amazing. I'm so glad I decided to binge watch it on Netflix lol
These final scenes are beautiful in many ways. The music. The words. The reunions. I watched Lost at the start and not a lot until the end and i can remember one quite night at home watching this real time in 2010 being captivated and emotional and sentimental. And now 12 years on nice to see again.
This scene made me cry so much .. so emotional .. reminded me of my father who passed away when I was 13 and when I had seen it , I was 21 .. hope I shall meet him after I die ..
One of the best TV Shows in the history of television shows. If I could erase my memory and watch it all over again for the first time, I 100% would. Absolutely fantastic show. I miss it so much. This definitely made history on tv. "You needed all of them, and they needed you. To remember, and to let go." ❤
“This is a place that you all made together so that you could find one another. The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these people. That’s why all of you are here. You needed all of them, and they needed you.” I felt that.
I lost my Dad a couple years ago, and didn't get to say goodbye. Rewatched this scene and flooded with emotions. It's weird, watching things with fresh eyes and experiences, how they speak to you differently.
All the characters found closure in the most meaningful relationships and friendships. They never died alone, because they learned how to live together and love each other. A powerful sense of resolution in the light of Love ❤
Well, there is no "now", here. And also, that room is full of religion stuff. But not only christianism... So that makes me think they tried to tell us every religion are talking about the same thing, no matter what's the name of their god, is the same. And the most important thing is, in the end, we're gonna be in the same place.
This was the best show ever but the worst ending! Why the polar bears on a tropical island and the "monster mist"WTF! I actually threw my phone at my TV.And broke both!
I came back years later. "The most important part of your life was the time you spent with these people. That's why all of you are here. Nobody does it alone, Jack." I cried again at this. One of the most profound things ever said.
I’ve never ever cried during the finale of ANY tv-show. And I’ve seen them all, even underrated ones. But I cried like little girl after this final episode and I just couldn’t control my emotions and affection towards the cast.
I never saw "LOST" when it was on but binged watched this over the past month. Loved it, but wasn't that crazy about season 5 and part of 6 with all the time traveling, it was making me crazy. But this ending is superb. Great actors and Mathew Fox at the top of his game here. And then they all meet up and eternally live as the doors open and they go into the light / heaven..... Lots of emotional scenes throughout, but this last scene was a real tear jerker ! Wow ! OVERALL A FANTASTIC SHOW !
It’s 2021 and still making peoples cry. Lost is the one there wont be any better. Because this serie is one of them that connecting two generations, non tech and tech. Gap between 1990-2010, what a years, just wow. If you born in 80’s and remembering good old days please consider yourself luckky.
The majority of Jack's flashes of memories was of Kate ;-) Also, when he said her name he smiled *sniffles* How can anybody not like Jack and Kate I just don't get.
The sharp inhale from Jack, coming to the realization that he died. The split second of weakness on his father’s face, being sad for his son. Then almost immediately being strong for him again! What a masterpiece!
greatest explanation in afterlife, like Christian said there is no now here this means that some part of there "timeline" meet, just to replenish there memories and move on.
Moving on is hard. This show, while it did sometimes deviate to less than perfect explanations, explains life very well and that is the most powerful thing to me. What a profound and beautiful ending, “how are you here” sends chills up and down my spine. I wish everyone I recommended this show to would watch this show and try to understand it. This show changed my life for the better, I am forever grateful for it. Also, Michael Giacchino is just incredible, the score for this show gets me in my feelings. “See ya in another life brotha”
This finale is so underrated! It doesn‘t deserve all the hate and the jokes. It is about moving on, leaving things and people behind and how it all makes sense in the end. I loved LOST from the first till the last scene.
The way I look at it all the answer questions that we didn’t get from it that’s life you’re not always going to understand why things happen in life you just have to MoveOn.
It's one of the most heart breaking moments. It's not precisely sad but you are feeling the emotional build-up ready to explode from everything that we've been through.
Look guys, including this comment we are at 42 so you all know what that means . Or you will never make another comment or we go for the 108 ! #We_have_to_go_back
I get chills every time I watch this. Such an amazing show with such a beautiful ending. I don’t understand how anyone who actually understand it hates it
I hope such a place exists. I hope that I will be able to find the person that I loved, but lost to someone else due to some rather bad decisions I made
A place between the physical world and eternity. A place where we are able to remember our physical lives, to let go of that life and welcome our movement into eternity. The wave becoming the ocean once again.
To me the ending is similar to the idea put forth in the Film What Dreams May Come. When we die we create a reality and of our own with our mind or uh spirit. The cast all did this but also had strong ties to each other which is why they would always kind of be in a similar world but didn't know each other. Once everyone passed away they were able to reconnect.
I don't care what anyone says, this is one of the best moments in TV history.
As flawed and ridiculous Lost became, this was a nice moment
yeah I loved the show until ABC gave them an end date and they just made things up as the show went along. Old Hollywood trick, if you were confused and have nothing more to give, make it a dream sequence

After rewatching it, it is. At the time every one was pissed but now I think every one loves it after rewatching it
its sad & depressing
damn.. so much time passed but THIS SCENE breaks me appart and i bash out in tears.. and i am a grown man.. god damn it
Nothing to be embarrassed about.
Same brother, same.
the best ending to a television show i've ever watched..."sniff"
lol I died at 'sniff' 😂😂
Oh god, I watched this with my mum just before she died and it still hits as hard today as it did then. Thankyou, Lost.
When I watched the finale I started to tear up a bit when Claire and Charlie were reunited and I thought that was going to be the emotional high point. Then this came on and I was full blown crying and didn't really stop until it was over. Fucking great finale
How can you say that the ending of Lost is not good, I cry every time, poor Jack .... I loved him so much.
It buffles me too. The ending offers closure in the best way possible. It's a happy but not cheesy ending. They got redemption and a happy afterlife. They moved on. The transformation of Jack from a man of science to a man of faith, his outbursts up until the moment thathe realized it's his destiny to protect the island, i don't care what anyone says, Lost is in my top 2 shows!
the Smoke Locke thing sucks. I really hate that, it just means John killed himself.
@@handsomestikhe didn’t kill himself he was killed? did you even watch the show??
This conversation saved my life. I love LOST, I love Jack, I love Christian, I love everything about this show. This show will be with me till the end of time.
Still brings me to tears after all these years. I’ll never not think of my brother who I lost 27 years ago when watching this scene. Powerful!
I love how Lost is not called that because they are lost on an island. It’s because they are all lost as people, and through the island, found their purpose. They found meaning in their lives. 😢
The Best Ending Ever. Just Perfect
That's sad if you believe that.
+Liam Brockman What's wrong about that ending dude?
The finale was perfect, just a great, compelling, creative cap on a fantastic show.
Max Shaw Ugh if you don't get how this Whole Sideways world is a metaphor for the whole show then damn man, you weren't paying attention.
The overall plot of Lost was people who had fucked up pasts coming to terms with it. The Island was just a fancy backdrop for that. So this ending has everything to do with the overall plot of Lost.
I used to think this was a terrible ending, now I think it's great and heartwarming.
I love the wrap up. My sister is dying of Brain Cancer. This metaphor of death helped my minister to her. I find it touching.

This series has the best finale, omg I don’t understand the people, everything fits so perfect.
They are dumb. They need every little explanations. The main thing is that they don't have to think for themselves.
People
Are stupid they watched season 1 half of 2 came back for the finale and said it was stupid.
I used this speech as my school reunion speech when we all left high school and it got to my heart and other people's hearts
"No, not leaving. Moving on"
When I watch this scene, I think about the people who will be waiting for me when I die
Jack crying because he is dead is so sad. Imagine mourning your own death 😭.
Matthew Fox is a fucking actor. Wonderful scene, crying a lot
best television series of all-time
Words can't express how hard this scene hit me years ago watching it live. Unbelievably moving.
I hope this is how it really is. I would not worry about dying if I knew I got to see my dad again.
You needed all of them, and they needed you.”
I felt that.
Kate died long after Jack. “I’ve missed you so much.” I feel like tearing up.
I never cry for a series..This is the SCENE..that make me cry always so much...
Tears....just tears.
5 minutes ago: "I can watch it again, I won't cry..."
now: "..damn it."
lol the last time Jack's father told him to "let go" he attacked him.
Man, Mathew Fox acting is top notch... He's really good.
My heart broke into a million pieces when Jack realized he was dead. What an amazing show.💔
Well, there is no "now", here.
And also, that room is full of religion stuff. But not only christianism...
So that makes me think they tried to tell us every religion are talking about the same thing, no matter what's the name of their god, is the same. And the most important thing is, in the end, we're gonna be in the same place.
***** christianism isn't a word
+Sir'Quentin Ross I think he meant Christendom .
S.H.I.E.L.D Maybe
+S.H.I.E.L.D I think he meant christianity.
This was the best show ever but the worst ending! Why the polar bears on a tropical island and the "monster mist"WTF! I actually threw my phone at my TV.And broke both!
That's why this is the best show ever... i miss this show much
I think the idea of moving on with the most important people in your life so you don't go alone is beautiful. I loved the ending
It’s brilliant, really.
Lost taught me what Life is all about
I came back years later.
Damn I’m a guy and this brought me to tears. You can’t do anything alone in life you need people as much as they need you. Powerful statement .
I cried the first time I saw this. My favorite show of all time.
I come back to this scene and it still makes me cry my eyes out!! Amazing actor!! All of them!!
This show went from being lost physically on an island to being lost spiritually. What an amazing show.
I still keep watching this scene everytime that i think about Lost. The most epic of all time, ao emotional and intense. Miss this tv show...
I'm crying after I saw Jack crying in his father's arms.
It’s 2021 and still making peoples cry. Lost is the one there wont be any better. Because this serie is one of them that connecting two generations, non tech and tech. Gap between 1990-2010, what a years, just wow. If you born in 80’s and remembering good old days please consider yourself luckky.
This part is great, I love this show. The thought that they all moved on together is such a nice ending.
I lost my father when I was 9... I hope to see him again just like this. This gets me every time.
Made me feel better about death
I'm with you.
Same
stats say you're likely to die of a disease or old age in your sleep, then your consciousness snuffs out like a candle, forever.
TalkingApeMan then your an idiot.
TalkingApeMan if u think this is what happens you must believe in the Easter bunny.
I pray 🙏 when I go to the light I can see my grandmother grandfather my uncles my aunts I miss them very much
The majority of Jack's flashes of memories was of Kate ;-) Also, when he said her name he smiled *sniffles* How can anybody not like Jack and Kate I just don't get.
I rewatched this series after I'd matured and after my dad had died. I sobbed like a child at this scene, when Jack realised he'd died 😭
I loved this freaking Finale!
Cried my heart out.
Me too.
Perfectly summed up finale which shows we all need certain closure to move on to our next journey...
"Everyones dies sometime kido'o" . . .
So much truth and wisdom in just a few short minutes and so beautifully expressed.
I am crying watching this in 2024 I am Jack and that's my dad who I can't wait to hug again. 48 years later one day dad we will meet again.
Seriously no matter how many times I´ve watched this series the ending always makes me cry my eyes out
It's one of the most heart breaking moments. It's not precisely sad but you are feeling the emotional build-up ready to explode from everything that we've been through.
the only time tv has ever made me cry is the end of lost... i cry every time i watch the finale
Look guys, including this comment we are at 42 so you all know what that means . Or you will never make another comment or we go for the 108 ! #We_have_to_go_back
Best.ending.ever!!!!! So beautiful. Wish I could watch this for the first time
I get chills every time I watch this. Such an amazing show with such a beautiful ending. I don’t understand how anyone who actually understand it hates it
Best show ever, still watching ❤️
I hope such a place exists. I hope that I will be able to find the person that I loved, but lost to someone else due to some rather bad decisions I made
That love is forever.
A place between the physical world and eternity. A place where we are able to remember our physical lives, to let go of that life and welcome our movement into eternity. The wave becoming the ocean once again.
It took me years to understand the ending. Now I get it and appreciate it so much more.
Seeing Jack hold his dad, & his dad returning the hug…. It absolutely breaks my ❤️
I wish I could hug my dad tell him how I feel. This scene is so beautiful
"there is no...now....here". That is an amazing line and an awesome concept. My favorite line of a memorable scene.
I really hope that before I pass, I get a flashback of all the good moments that I've had in my life. Specially the ones I've forgotten.
:(
