What would you say the biggest thing you learned, or realized you need to work on to better prepare? Was there something that you’d say surprised you, that you might not have thought of, had you not actually done this practice run? I think this is a great idea, and I’d love to hear more about your experience!

ARMY TRICK: Unscrew the light off your flashlight. Put a whole new set of batteries in. Turn the first battery in your flashlight Backwards in your flashlight. If the batteries are Backwards in your flashlight, the batteries will not drain. Just remember your system, so you can “REPAIR IT” when you need it. Athief will think your flashlight is broken and not take it. Have a blessed day.

Here is a top tip that I have done..
      Take 10 new pennies..
      1983 and newer..
File the copper off of one side of each. .
Draw a circle around a dime, on a piece of tag board. To make 9 disks..
      Soak them in vinegar. ..
With the pennies facing the same way, put a vinegar soaked disk between each penny.
And put an l e d across the stack. And wrap it up with elections tape..
The light will run 24 hours a day, for over 7 days.
I think it stops because the vinegar dries out..
Although, , the zink that is on the inside was eaten badly...
This idea is only for educational purposes only. .
But as with all knowledge, comes power.

I suspect you are looking into the wrong faces or places. Try asking if they are doing work that they know they are good at and that leaves them satisfied at the end of the day. If not, ask them if they are working on the obstacles. Once that issue is settled, pay and environment don't matter much. Happy searching.

True or not, even a little prep can go a long ways.
Much of so called prepping is nothing more than the wisdom that comes from experience. Things like: having candles on hand for time when the lights go out; having shovels to move snow; buying smoke alarms AND fire extinguishers; having extra groceries so you don't have to run to the store because you're out of this or that; . . . .

@@Cyb3rFck You make a pretty good point, most people will fall over dead. Unskilled people with Godless ways will turn to cannibalism and become savages almost immediately. I live on a small ranch with fresh water creek, trees, deer and seclusion. I equipped my main house with large wood heater/stove a few years back. My few living friends and I are all militarily trained and have been trading products and our skills and services for years. I'm prepped for most situations, but for what and how long? Nobody knows. Marauders will no doubt roam the area looking for prepped people. Yeah sure they'll get a fight, but I gotta go to sleep sometime. Just keep our souls prepped with strong faith, that's really the only prep we have, isn't it?

I am planning on "wild" gardens, located in the interstate median (where they don't spray), to grow potatoes, carrots, peanuts, berries, etc. Places like that go unnoticed all the time. Skills that they possess would be lost. Work together now to learn from each other so if we should find ourselves in this situation that we could be prepared for that scenario. Hard lesson to be thrust into suddenly.

if you plan for an EMP, that should help with all of the others.

    • @totallyfrozen
      @totallyfrozen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

If you’re realistic, it will take many years and a financial fortune to do that...and you still won’t be prepared for it. The aftermath of a major EMP attack is barely survivable at best regardless of what you do because you basically have to be able to recreate your world.
Seems to me, it’s wiser to take smaller bites. Plan for the disasters that are likely or common in your area, then begin to expand to prep for other things.
EMP/nuclear war is apocalyptic. Optimistically, it’s barely survivable. Realistically, it’s not survivable.
Even the BEST prepared wouldn’t last 4 years post-apocalypse.
“For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now-and never to be equaled again. “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:21-22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I bought my own rechargeable lamps and an indoor butane burner. Thankfully we have propane for home heat. Electric loss was the issue. We have tornado weather coming now. First chance is this weekend. I have everything ready! Byw.. those lamps I bought keep charge 28 hours or longer per full charge. If anyone wants the link, holler, I'll share it. They are bright and do stay bright for many hours! If you use a butane burner, please use CRV explosion proof butane! Especially indoors!

Living next to stadiums made me realize being stuck in traffic for over 30 minutes but being walking distance to my place puts a lot of things in perspective on how fast you can get "stuck".

I started out with cheap stuff, because it's all I could manage and I have now been slowly replacing each item with good quality stuff. It does take time, I almost never have spare money. But when I do that's exactly where it goes. As for allergies, they can't be helped and the last thing you need is to be sick from food. I prepare only with what I can eat and work on what I can scavenge, hunt and forage. Fitness is a problem. I need to work on that alot amd put my preps in the best places for them.
These are great thoughts and ideas snd many I am guilty of too. We are always learning and improving.

I agree...this advice...in this video...makes me concerned for her viewers. There are multiple ways for this idea to go very, very wrong. I for sure would not drive around like that with the outdoor temp topping 90 degrees F. The temperature in my car trunk, with my car parked in a parking lot...probably tops 115 degrees f. And there are other possibilties for a portable gas container catastrophe...like a serious, high impact collision with another car...or a rollover of the car with the filled to the brim gas containers. Car's own gas tank is designed to keep gas out of trouble even in a collision. Filled gas container in the trunk? Yipes....

WOW. You have made many interesting videos. But this one is far and away THE most important one you've ever done. You cover, with humility and depth, what most other prep channels don't even consider. I love that you hit on the point of cell phone reliability. I get a kick out of many channels that tell you about some cataclysmic event, and then in the next breath, tell you what "app" to use on your phone.
I could ramble for quite some time on mistakes I have made in the past 29 years of my "prepping." Yep, well before even Y2K came on the radar. "Why to what?" A lot has happened in those years. Some good, some bad. But I'll tell you one of the REALLY good things that has come along. YOU, my lady. Your videos are informative and educational. But most of all, they are UPLIFTING. Thank you for all the effort you put into them.
    Stay safe, and keep breathin'.

Several years ago I tested two cans of pepper spray that I take on hikes (I live in Alaska). One of them was about 10 years expired and the other was just over 4 years expired. The 10-year-old can worked just fine. But when I tested the 4-year-old can, a stream of orange goo came out rather than a fine spray. You cannot trust expired sprays. Since then I have replaced my cans every two years whether they work or not.

Hey Christa, got a question, you said to find other ways to stay in touch, would smoke signals be a good means? Ha Ha, just joking Hun! I truly enjoyed your video. Christa I was raised up here in Southeast Kentucky, in the mountains, I'm 78 years of age and when I was growing up, we raised almost everything that we ate. We had a large family, but we always had plenty to eat. All these things you talk about is very important. We never ever had an electric stove or running water. A fire was always built in the old cook stove and lots of water had to be carried from the springs, we had five springs on our land. These things you talk about were just a way of life when I was growing up. And it seems like folks may have to go back to those old timey ways. Keep up the good work Gal, you are very important to all of us! May God bless you and your family! Bernard Barker

Yeah, i have heard people say, we are poor we can't prep.
I have lives on $17 dollars a week before and survived.
But i was living in a cave in the woods for free.
Most money is spent from luxuries we live on.
Electricity and water are 2 things that cost a bit of money.
    Rent, mortgage payments.
Insurance and gas for the car.
Is many things we can give up so we can prep.
3 things we can give up on is cigarettes, drinking and drugs.
The other things will be jewelry, expensive cars and trucks, going out to eat, phone bills, Internet bills, new electronics of any kind, new brand name cloths, like Jordan Sport shoes, Make up, big pets that eat a bunch.
Can save a lot of money if we can give up some luxuries.

Lmao, lady, I am a very old scout. Where ever you go, the land ranger map is essential, the best compass is a help, but the stars at night are faultless, in my book learn the stars, orientate yourself at dawn and dusk, read the word and commit your day into His hands, the best prep ever asking for His (our Lord Jesus) wisdom and guidance, He has not failed Ever! All of your points were spot on, an excellent presentation, kind regards Tim

Please folks, most of this info is spot on...but TWO MAJOR CAUTIONS: 1st: Do not keep loaded firearms anywhere that children or young people can access them...unless of course, they are trained...well trained. 2nd: Do not keep filled gas cans in your vehicle. Instead, make it a habit to never let your gas tank fall below half filled. A spare tank of gas in your vehicle is inviting disaster should you get into an accident. As for batteries degrading inside flashlights, radios and other devices...if they are being kept solely for emergencies and not being used no a regular basis, take those batteries out of those devices and TAPE THEM to the device, on the outside. This way those batteries won't leak and do harm to the devices. Be smart, be safe.

Prepping tip: if you stockpile Bic style lighters...vaccummmmm sealed with oxygen absorbers. The gas may stay in them for years but moisture will cause the flints to crumble. I learned that by experimenting. Glad it was only six of them. They only lasted two years in my garage.

When I first saw that KaBar, I thought you got into my truck, cause I've had that exact same one for the last 30 years!!
Oh, not to be argumentative, but the comment about gas not being usable is somewhat false. Yes, it degrades over time, and treating it with a stabilizer is best, but I have personally used untreated gas left in a hot/cold garage that was 3 years old. It isn't the best quality, but in a pinch, it will work.

Owning your Vehicles and Home is really important. Think how many people would be carless and homeless right now if the Government hadn't stepped in and deferred payments during Covid, or hadn't given them the extra money for unemployment. I still have a very small heloc on my home that I am working to pay off, but I own every one of my cars.

👍 The attack/riot on the capitol should be lesson for all of us, there is no way a person could defend there food/family against a mob. 😊 I would like to here about budget travel trailer bug out shelters, load your supplies up and tow and go to a place where you would have access to water 🚚 and is safe for your family. State Land or a National Forrest.

You know, one thing preppers never take into consideration is that your neighbor will turn on you when he gets hungry. You are insulated from the city violence, but if I get hungry and you won't give me some of your food, I'm going to take it from you either by force or not. Everyone will do the same or die. Why do you thing native indian tribes were always at war?

If you need to load up a bug out bag and run, where are you going to?
If you have a bug out location, it had better have everything you need and be secure enough that if someone gets there before you do, they better not be able to get in to use or take all your things, or worse, set up to defend it and plan to keep it, thank you very much!!!!!!

It's one thing to accumulate the necessary gear and other items to be prepared...but the thing most often overlooked is acquiring the skills to use all of it! That's where I'd start if I were going to begin the prepper life. By learning HOW you will discover WHAT you will need and what is useless.

The only thing I prep for is avoiding being a victim of a violent crime and fighting back. I have chronic medical conditions, I will not survive long term prepping. If you have a chronic medical condition you're dependent upon the medical and pharmaceutical infrastructure to live long term.
If you have diabetes, you will die once your insulin or medication supply is exhausted. If you have respiratory issues, you will die once your medication supply is exhausted.
The only thing I prep against is short term and immediate dangers because I know I'll die if I was put into a long term prepping situation. It's the hand I was dealt with and I accept it.

What a great video. You covered all the bases. Excellent content and very accurate. I can only assume the thumbs down for this video were pressed by accident. As a side note, since you mentioned stabilizers in the video, if you're looking for the absolute best fuel stabilizer, it's PRI-G. It's expensive but I have fuel that's over 10 years old and is as fresh as the day I bought it. Give it a try.

I don't want to believe this is happening so I ignore all the gear I've bought. Even as I trip over it. I just want to pretend I don't need to finish these projects as if doing so will make these fears come to life. Truth.

Do it. Even for the simple fact that weather patterns have changed and from personal experience having lived through the polar vortex weather in Texas. I lost power in an all electric apartment. The water was turned off because the pipes froze. I didn't stock up on wood for my fireplace and ran out. I didn't test my Coleman stove that had been in storage and couldn't get it to work. I learned I need use my stuff have back up in place know where things are for the unexpected. I honestly didn't pay attention to the news about the weather and figured it would be a couple of days of cold and it would warm up as always. I had my survival kit but hadn't looked at it and was confident my gear was ready. Do your work and organize it get it ready for not so much the apocalypse but for necessary things like a weather event.

those little batteries obsolete. today we have dewalt, ryobi, Milwaukie etc with rechargeable batteries that would keep the $30-$40 torch going all night. aside from battery powered tools, i have a set of hand tools in case i have no power. same with most tools. time to prep for today. i also have a few portable solar chargers as well as a solar charging unit. it gives me power & im able to charge phones etc. so although my fav recipes are written, my prized ones are laminated, i still have access to everything on my phone. ive prepped in the event my kids have to bring their families here.
BEWARE: not all “intolerances” are just that. some are deadly allergies and theres no way of getting over it.
