About the Slavic deck. I am not sure why you would feel you need a personal ancestral connection. There was a Korean deck on kickstarter about a year ago that I got. I am definitely not of Asian ancestry. But, I felt I could have it and it honors those people as people I share the world with. I may not "relate" to the stories, but it is a gorgeous deck and I just appreciate it for the beauty it is.
I've been finding a lot of connection to decks made by female artists, which really focus on 'female energy', stories and experiences lately. And I'm a stinky old man. I guess we're always kinda worried about appropriation. But I agree with you, for sure.
I use the I Ching a lot, and I'm not Chinese ethnicity either. I guess, as long as you pay some kind of respect, I dunno.
Oh... I don't think I fully explained myself. I don't 'need' a personal ancestral connection , but it helps when I'm not otherwise feeling drawn to the folklore around a particular deck. There are celtic decks that don't otherwise draw me to use them that I keep and enjoy having because there's a deeper layer there for me to explore, if I wish. :)
@@Lisa_Papez Ok. I can understand that. I just see that a lot about this sort of thing these days from others. As if it is only OK if there is some personal, ancestral connection. I do believe it comes from being over sensitive to cultural appropriation. But, the way I see it, the creators made their decks, or art or whatever really, to share their heritage. They want people to enjoy it.
How much is your Slavic deck going for or have you already sold it?
Man, I soooo want the Tyldwick Tarot, but it's very much out of my budget. Once I added in shipping, it was going to be over a hundred dollars 😭
I enjoy the mystical cats and magical dogs decks for pet ownership readings, I also use them when I donate readings to shelter fundraisers. They are great for reading for people who are unfamiliar with tarot.
I *love* having a cat and dog deck on hand for precisely that reason (pet-related questions)! But I don't get requests for readings like that very often!
I wonder how Tarot of the Crone might pair with the Iris Oracle? That popped in my head as I watched you talk about the Tarot of the Crone...

I felt bad for missing out on the Majestic Earth, but now that I have the Flow Tarot I don't feel anything when I look at images of the Majestic haha. The Flow Tarot is absolutely incredible at filling that niche, and although it's a Water deck, I find that it's very grounded and has a lot of Earth energy as well.
You have a second edition of the Ritual Tarot, the first edition didn't come in a 2 piece box and it didn't have the lust card. And right now Tiera is having a sale on the market editions!
Absolutely believe that we have a moment with some decks... and then we're done. I have let several decks go that are irreplaceable but I spent a good few years playing with them, and I have new toys. I loved the keywords on the Majestic. It was my favorite part of the deck! And the cardstock is awesome. I just never connected to the art. Oh well NEXT. So happy to be invited to the "bag switching party '24".😅

I do really love Slavic Legends but it’s a little pricey so haven’t taken the plunge yet. However, if you’re not feeling it you’re not feeling it. It would be boring if we all used the same decks.
I have to say I recently found you and of course, Peggy. I have binge watched your channel. I am new to tarot and new to finding my own path (Still not sure what my beliefs are but I know I am a baby witch). So thank you for all the reviews and Training wheel series considering I felt "called" by a tarot deck I seen and had no clue what I was doing.

I love my Luminous Void deck as well and have the same reaction to mine as you do. I use it for myself but I can't use it for Readings with others. It is a challenging deck to use. But so, so gorgeous. And the Nicoletta Ceccoli, oh my god, I love that deck. It is so "cut through the crap" when it comes to relationship Readings. Love it. Don't have the oracle yet, mostly because the lack of keywords, but I may invest in it and alter it myself.

I've always felt The Luminous Void card shapes and slick graphic backs don't make sense to me when matched with ther art style. Feels like a mismatch done just because it felt novel to the creator to have that option. It's unique yes, but is it a good match? I think I'd enjoy the deck much more with those illustrations on normally shaped cards with unrestricting borders.
Bags are nicer than boxes, but how do you remember which deck is in which bag when you have hundreds of decks? I have trouble with the 8 or 9 bags I currently have.
@@toadstooltarot I've been asked this a lot about bags. I have a very unique bag for every deck and always build a mental link between the bag and deck - whether it's a color tie-in or a thematic tie-in to make it easy to remember :)
@@toadstooltarot I have hundreds of decks. When you collect slowly, it's easy to remember. You learn this deck goes with this bag before you get another deck. There was a fire in my house 15 years or so ago. They took all of my decks out of their bags a and put them in zip lock bags. Not all of my bags were saved. I only remember about a third of them now, or less. You would think I would remember which ones go back in which decks, but I just didn't.
Oh dammit XD not me having an encyclopedic knowledge of dog breeds and seeing all those breeds line up with the meanings! And not the Shiba Inu as the High Priestess - very matching for my Loki boy. Oh boy. I may need lol even if he's a black and tan Shiba that's just too perfect
