The great thing about his Payaliya Jhankar is that, he really pronounces the word "Jhhankar", other singers like Rashid Khan and Ajoy Chakraborty say (or it sounds like) "Jankar... mori", this shows his strong foundational basics of Kirana, where pronunciation is important. That's why Bhimsen is Bhimsen and long live the Kirana Gharana.
I wish I had had the opportunity to learn this music as a child. I studied sarod under Ali Akbar Khansahib for several years, but realized that there was as much to the cultural backstory as the technical and improvisitory capability - which I definitely had, I could learn the forms, but that would not be enough. Integrating the great traditions behind the ragas would take another lifetime...
@@thesoundsmith Hindustani classical music is too vast to be learnt completely. Did you know once a listener told Bhimsen that you are an ocean of knowledge,to which Panditji replied that I'm just a swimmer, I don't know how deep it goes. Isn't it fascinating.

I am unfortunate that i have never listened 'Miya Tansen' since he died more than 500 years back or vice a versa i was born more than 500 years after his death, but when i listen 'Panditji' I feel "Agar miya tansen bhi gaate honge to kareeb kareeb kuch aisa hi gaate honge."
Genious? No doubt, but everybody must note his love for music from childhood. He left his house in search of music teacher and worked as a servant in the house of a film actor. This type of sacrifice is very uncommon in the history of music not to speak of the present day music learners.

This is the reason why i love classical music than any other mainstream music. Because it do not only entertain you and make you awestruck but it also gives you divine meditative experience which you could have very rarely in today's world. And if the singer is like Pandit ji then that experience is just heavenly and no words can express that feelings. This is what sadhna looks like. Sat sat pranam to divine pandit ji 🙏🙏🙏.

Yes actually DD have a lots of archive but they don't upload. Same with Aakashwani or AIR or whatever. Panditji used to perform regularly on AIR.
