It was actually supposed to be completely different than what we got actually
The only reason the kept the song the way it is is because it is actually meant to be emotional since blabi is basically left there by himself and no one ever even goes to the school so you stealing the only remaining thing he had (the presents) makes him go insane and nearly kill you. (Or worse) but using the stuff that was elsewhere in the school to make him snap out of it and also apologize (hence the ending) and he lets you keep his stuff and he tells you his past as a way to show he is sorry for much.
