Der Film Bad Woman Blues - Beth Hart feiert die Musik und die Stimme einer Frau, die Rock und Blues mit Gefühl, Authentizität und Ehrlichkeit bereichert. Beth Hart begeistert und überrascht dabei immer wieder aufs Neue mit ihrer unverwechselbaren Bühnenpräsenz und ihren mitreißenden Konzerten.
Für Beth Hart existiert keine Trennung zwischen Kunst und Leben. Im Gegenteil: Das eine kann es ohne das andere nicht geben. Beth Hart nutzt die Musik, um gegen die Geister der Vergangenheit anzutreten. Alkohol und Drogen begegnen ihr bereits als Jugendliche, später wird bei ihr auch eine psychische Erkrankung diagnostiziert. Die Blues-Sängerin hat in ihrer Jugend und ihrem frühen Erwachsenenalter in tiefe Abgründe geschaut. Diese Erfahrungen fließen in ihre Kunst mit ein und machen ihre Musik intensiv und ihre Konzerte einzigartig. Eine fast schon spirituelle Erfahrung - sowohl für das Publikum als auch für Beth Hart selbst.
Oliver Schwabes Film begleitet die Musikerin im Tourbus, beim Yoga auf der Bühne vor dem Soundcheck und backstage kurz vor ihren Auftritten. Die Drehorte sind große Hallen und kleine Clubs am Strand von Los Angeles. Beth Hart lässt sich im Studio über die Schulter schauen und erzählt von ihrer Arbeitsweise, ihren Rückschlägen und auch von ihrer bipolaren Störung, die ihr Leben bestimmt, die sie aber mittlerweile im Griff hat.
Weggefährten wie ihr langjähriger Manager Dave Wolff oder Gitarrenheld Slash sprechen über die Ausnahmekünstlerin, deren Fangemeinde seit über 30 Jahren stetig wächst. Beth Harts außergewöhnliche Karriere zeigt, dass es sich lohnt, sich selbst treu zu bleiben, dem eigenen Talent zu vertrauen und nicht jeder Mode nachzueifern. Sie ist eine Künstlerin, die es versteht, dem Rock die Breitbeinigkeit zu nehmen und sich stattdessen gefühlvoll und mitreißend in sehr persönlichen Songs auszudrücken. Und das mit einer Stimme, die ihresgleichen sucht.

Beth Hart is absolutely stunning. With Eva Cassidy, in a different style, they are the most emotional singers ever. There is so much soul in their singing and music. Every human emotions is translated into Beth's singing. Her whole body sings. Just plain brilliant. Since Billie Holliday, no one has sung pain as well as Beth (and Eva) and I do not thing someone ever will.

Als ehemalige Fachkrankenschwester der Psychatrie weiss ich was es heißt eine bipolare Erkrankung zu haben. um so so mehr fasziniert mich Beth Hart wie sie mit ihrer Musik verschmilzt,dabei alle ihre Problem überwindet und ganz in sich gekehrt alles zum Ausdruck bringt was Blues ausmacht:Authentisch,kraftvoll und gefühlvoll. für mich die beste Bluessängerin unserer Zeit. Mit Joe Bonamassa zusammen ist sie unschlagbar.
Ich hab Beth Hart mit 17 das 1. Mal gehört, lange bevor ich das 1. Mal in der Psychiatrie war und noch viel länger bevor ich meine Diagnose bekam. Als ich nun erfuhr, dass sie auch bipolar ist, fühlte sich das irgendwie stimmig an. Ich liebe sie als Sängerin und Songschreiberin und habe sie dieses Jahr endlich auch live sehen können. Eine unglaubliche Frau! Ich bin so froh, dass sie ihre schwersten Phasen überwinden konnte, und nicht wie einige andere geniale Musiker untergegangen ist.

@@theheepster ok but I'm Italian and I would prefer Italian subtitles😂 However, if you share a video on TH-cam it's because you want to reach a wider, international audience, so English subtitles are a sensible choice in my opinion
The people speaking in this video are all English speakers. It's a shame to have their voices covered by dubbing in another language, rendering the original inaudible. TH-cam is an international media that allows you to activate subtitles in most languages, and at first in the original language. Subtitles do not overwrite the original audio. And yes, there are subtitles on many American documentaries and you can put them in the language of your choice. If people spoke German, I would have also appreciated the German subtitles, even though I'm French and don't speak a word of German. I understand most English, Beth Hart's language, but here I can only get a few words at the beginning of a few sentences due to the dubbing. It's just absurd.

You don't hear the original voice at all. In documentaries, this is done by voiceover because it is cheaper than bringing dubbing actors into the studio for all the characters. On German television there are virtually no subtitles. This documentary was shown like this on television and simply uploaded by WDR. I agree with you that subtitling could have been done for the Yt audience, but they didn't want to go to the trouble, I guess.

This is a german documentary, not for the international Market. The voiceover is because Beth Hart didn't spoke German.
@@theheepster TH-cam is an international medium that allows subtitles in any langage. It is quite incredible that in 2023 a channel like WDR publishing a report on an American singer with an international career does not use TH-cam subtitles and prefers to overwrite her voice with that of another person. I've seen dozens of Beth Hart interviews from many countries, and it's the first time I've seen such a thing. I guess all Germans know how to read German subtitles. Luckily, no German singer sings over her voice. A French Beth Hart fan.

It's a German production. By WDR, a German television station as part of their serial brand "Rockpalast". Your feeling is the way how we Germans feel about all English or Spanish spoken productions without subtitles over decades. Beth is very popular in Germany so it is worthy to publish a production like this also on TH-cam for part of the European market. Don't be so selfish.

@@reinhardbangert6046 I am a marketing expert and it is very close the way taken by Harley Davidson. Today none can sell a record without been involved by the industry. That doesn't take away her talent, so hard fans don't have to show their fangs either. This is not a judgment, it is an observation.
