I see Michael, I click. I hear Michael, I stay.
Only Michael League could rock a full zipped track suit...and be the coolest guy in the room.
part of me wants to take that as a challenge, but i know exactly how pointless that would be
Of course! He's a Puyol-lookalike :D
Michael League is my main inspiration for my two Adidas track suits
FCB! My hometown's parent club. He could be dressed like Yoshi and still be having the most fun in the room... which makes him the coolest guy in the room btw ;-)
soccer suit.. jacket only...
Baddest P-Bass tone that I've heard in a long time. Nice.
Love the bass and the funk! You can tell they just love playing and it comes through the in the music.
So do we call this Snarky Knuckles?
Or... Funky Puppy
This comment let me in on who Wes is.
@@MaineBassGuy Yeah man, I found him just surfing TH-cam about two years ago.
Well that just put a huge smile on my face.
Wes rips but michaels feels are from another universe
Funky Puppy is born
Haha ‘funky puppy’ ....That made my day!
I want both of their basses, both of their skills and sense of melody/rhythm... such a great vid, so much musician envy. back to the shed!
I'm just here for the bass faces.
The only thing Michael can do
@@sandeepvyas6576 totally agreed, more bass faces than bass playing
@@rafaellima5429 clearly neither of you know what it means to be a bassist
@@sandeepvyas6576 ^^
I love their having fun together!
Yessir!! Come on Wes!!!
D A N G. Wes you are killin'!!!
Matt Stone and Will Saso killin it live at the Dunlop Booth! Just kidding, these guys were so fun to watch!
Two of the most inspiring bassists of our time
I mean honestly I've never heard Michael play anything remotely impressive. Fucking tremendous composer and arranger and certainly a fantastic bassist but I definite haven't ever heard him play anything particularly inspiring, even in Snarky Puppy. He's even talked in interviews about how little time he's spent practicing outside of college. His faces are 10/10 though, looks like he had time to practice those pretty good.
just hear to his cover of Continuum by The Great Jakko Pastoriuss( with Monster Cory)

You're definitely right that he doesn't often show it, it doesn't seem like that's one of his greatest goals musically, but man, when he pulls it out, he has some true greatness within. For me personally, seeing him play, lead, groove, jam and solo, he has been my greatest inspiration as a performer so far. Anyways, all that to say, I really think you'll enjoy these!
Who’s time? There are so many others.
0:18 Blimey, that's a massive action!
Ben Stiller walks up in disguise @2:26
Bro!! I lost my mind when I read this comment.... hilarious oh my god
@@chriswallace5567 Read this right as the dude walked into the frame. Don't want to credit us both with being great by any means but..... I guess great minds do think alike bruh.
I didn't even know this happened?! I would have been there.
some SIQ looking ukuleles in the back
I love these guys soo much respect
1:56 Michael league took a mean dump after hearing that run!
Amazing.
Ben Stiller 2:26
With that 'Dodgeball' look. Not him though.😂😂

gotta love the feeling
Yoooo! My Man Wes is a Beast son! Lol
Wow! How cool and awesome was that? Man, I just have more faith in human kind now... 🙂
Yes, yes & YES.
I love when Zoolander walks in @2:26 and flashes blue steel
Awesome!!
lil dicky on the bass
Mike deserves the props but there isn't a single positive comment on just how well Wes can play. WTF! Fan boyz!
Because Wes sux
@@itguru2037 You haven't got a clue what you're talking about.
@@itguru2037 Mikey likes him. th-cam.com/video/NEOBjYT2tCA/w-d-xo.html
@@Earth_to_Kensho...ComeInKensho I’ve been playing BASS for 50 years as a session musician for many artists. His technique is not polished and his style is not so great. Speedy work is always appreciated but not talented. I’ve worked with Doug Wimbish, Mike Porcaro, and Pat Metheny.
@@itguru2037 For someone with your experience and level of skill you're not humble in any way, you come off as pretty bitter. I googled: "who played bass with Mike Porcaro and Pat Metheny?" to create an easy search and came up with no one. That's not to say you didn't play with them it's just that it's being treated as if it didn't happen. I guess Wes sucks
Grant Green - Jan Jan!
Badass.
Yeah doggiesss!!!!!!!!!!
That old P Bass is Sic😎😎
Works for me !!!!
Is there any info on strings that Michael uses at his bass at the moment? Would be helpful) Are those Dunlop flats?
Yes
Why does it matter? You will never sound like this.
Which tone do you prefer?
Anyone know what tune they're playing?
Jan-Jan - Grant Green
2:29 Ben Stiller in the back !! Jaja
That is a sexy P bass
❤
Great Playing, can anyone clue me in on the bass that Wes is playing? Brand wise. I know it is a short scale bass. Thanks
Joe Brown CallowHill OBS
Wes Stephenson you are an amazing bass player! Great video! Micheal is on point too! 👍
Amelio Pompeo thanks!
Jan Jan Very cool.
Lol love that quartet feel at 3:27
Ben Stiller walking in at 2:26
Fros and a Pbass.Thats how you get that funk
Bad ass pbass
What bass is Wes playing? Growl for days!
Joe Graffeo CallowHill OBS
I'd love to play with two bassists. It's the Best
Are they playing an actual tune that they both know or just jamming?
Corby Stephens yeah the tune’s called grant green
Block hax that’s the name of the tune or the artist?
Artist. Tune is Jan-Jan, played by Grant Green, though that, itself, is apparently a cover of the Fabulous Counts' version of that tune. (I'd heard the tune before but didn't know the name -- got it from some other comments here and pulled up these: th-cam.com/video/UW1FZrpywbk/w-d-xo.html & th-cam.com/video/QX5r_g0yeCE/w-d-xo.html)
Ben Stiller comes to check out the scene @ 2:26 LMAO !!!:{
Does this tune have a name?
Sounds like cory wong by vulfpeck
Who knew Curly was such a great groover!
This video makes me wish y'all would re-score a few classic 8-bit video games... Id never stop playing them.
...I think I'll practice bass instead for now :-D
MICHEAL LEAGUE I PLAY PASS U

JJ JJ Jan Jan by Grant Green

ricky bobbys dad drops in at 2:25
Thomas Müller plays the bass in a Barcelona jacket wtf??
TKL
sounds great while the MM basses sit close by
...а Стефенсон якось яскравіше виглядає,вам не здається....?Михайлик так економно 'піццікатить',нє...?🙁
VISCA EL BARÇA !
Baixistas querendo ser guitarristas
Is it just me but i don't hear a song here 😣
notice the relaxed fashion and command Michael has... not so much the other cat.... straining and tight.... trying a little toooooo much... Michael da man
Randy Clere people just have different playing styles and the way the music effects the musician playing it is different for all people.
I agree.
Reeves Peace Vyizigiro Indeed....Well said my friend. We all respond differently when we play and Michael seems to get ”a little tense" about as much as the other guy.
That's just how Wes is.
Dude, Wes is killin too. Get your ears checked.
Why does ML always look dirty and like he need a bath?
one of his passions is water conservation?
BASSIST ARE STILL CHASING THIS JACO THING WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SUPPORTIVE ROLE OF THE BASSIST PLAYING WELL IN THE CONTEXT OF A BAND IT NOT UNIQUE ANYMORE.
John Doe you sure?vMichael League has perfect placement as a bassist he stays at the foundation then takes off guard with a nice lick then takes you back, he's a one of a find bassist
Dude, you're too quick to judge
lmao theres two bassists somebodys gonna have to take the lead
Just go with it bro....lot of these guys have surpassed even what Jaco did...but just think if he would have lived....😉
Man its two bass players playing toghether where do you see the rest of the band for them to support? If you know them you'll know they are very good at doing their job...
IMO, Michael League, is quite limited talent...
Hmm
@@lilkujo The bass's world claim for the next Pastorius... is he the next?
@@rodrigocostamagna3896 have you seen his and Cory Henry's rendition of Continuum???
@@lilkujo Yes I did!! My point is, and taking your example as mine now, Pastorius wrote the song, and also created a way of thinking on bass. Besides, Continum is, perhaps, the most played bass line in the history of electric bass. Henry did a good job there, showing he has the standard to play at that level, League was a good companion. I understand bassists looking for the light to follow the way. But this guy, is not able to do anything for the bass history. Music?
@@rodrigocostamagna3896 I hear you. I will clarify my view by stating i don't personally put any connection between ML and Jaco as him trying to be the next Jaco because I don't even know if we'll ever have that. Besides all these humans who aren't ML (or any other bassist for that reason) that bring up that Jaco comparison I wonder what the actual bassist think. I don't feel like he wants to be the next anything but he's creating his own path as a musician with his funky groove and his brain child Snarky Puppy. So I do agree with you in some regards.
