the machine gun drumming...the guitar riffs at the end...its just freakin perfect...everything yellowcard does is just pure brilliance...and that comes from a guy who hates the Pop Punk genre...
Holy shit this album kicks ass. I wasn't expecting them to be able to top "When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes" in just over a year, but I think that they might have. Songs like this one and "Sleep in the Snow" are fantastic.
I originally kind of overlooked this song...but now that I heard it again today, I have to say it is probably my favorite song on the album. I love the chorus.
Ahhhh inject this into my veins. I never used to listen to this song when the album first came out in 2012. My favs were Awakening, Sleep in the Snow & Summer Air. But HOLY SHIT in recent years I have just come to absolutely adore this song its gotta be the most powerful song on the record. GIves me chills everytime. Everything from the lyrics to the instrumentation - the drum work is really a standout on this one, and of course the violin is as tasteful as ever....
Here I go again Another leap of faith I close my eyes and wait to fall I see a future in which I will soon become The only truth you know at all You wanna know what I'm thinking I think about back then Back when we built something new The world was ours to conquer And we were not afraid to lose ourselves Somewhere inside this, you changed And I could never follow you that way I miss you madly and it's raining on the coast I'm supposed to say "this was your loss", and "I'm fine" I stare for hours at these numbers in my hand But ringing you would mend your heart, and break mine You wanna know what I'm thinking I think about back then Back when we built something new The world was ours to conquer And we were not afraid to lose ourselves Somewhere inside this, you changed And I could never follow you that way We laugh 'til we cry (With smoke in our eyes) Just like old times Never again That was back then Back when we built something new The world was ours to conquer And we were not afraid to lose ourselves Somewhere inside this, you changed And I could never follow you that way Somewhere inside this, you changed And I could never follow you that way
my buddy just moved. a week prior to that, we were driving down main ST. and miles aprat came on and i lost my voice singing it with him. so we have been on a yellowcard kick since then..putting this song into the situation is almost perfect...miss ya, stubbs..
.. love how they still sound like they did when i first found them on myspace! so many memories they bring from high school, the girls i used to love, skateboarding, and driver 3 on xbox!
Punk YC, heck yeah! One of my faves off the album (I'm also an absolute sucker for Here I am Alive, lol). Nate young (formerly of Anberlin, if you haven't heard of them check them out) does great. He recorded for their new album (Lift a Sail) and has toured with them, playing several of their well know songs. I think people were divided about the drummer switch. LP was an absolute beast! NO argument. BUT i think Nate adds his own little touch that i think sounds great. YC forever man!
With the exception of 'The Sound of You and Me', 'For You, and Your Denial', 'Sing For Me', 'Be the Young', and probably a few others. Still a great track. :)
kareemie I have 24 now and it's almost made me cry like a 1 month year old baby. It hit so hard that you can't runaway. We all, in some point in life get that nostalgic momentum on big time. It's kind funny, but really heapens. When it does, you feel some kind of pain or fellings getting inside your mind, your heart, that you don't know if you're be able to get'em away. But in the end... Ah! The fellings! They speak for itselfs.
So excited to see you guys in London in November. Got me inspired so I made a Full instrumental rendition of this incredible track! I cant believe its 12 years old!
For all of you out there who hated Here I am Alive for it's pop qualities. I would say that this and Surface of the Sun more than make up for that song!
That's funny since both Sean Mackin and Ryan Mendez have stated that they are Dragonforce fans. I'm actually not an avid follower of Dragonforce, whereas Yellowcard is one of my two favorite bands. Still, I see nothing insulting to either band in a passing comparison.
No hicieron algun tema con rick astley ? pense que si, uno de ellos lo puso en su twitter o el twitter de YC ... solo pregunta pero muy aparte amo a yellowcard!! fan desde el 2001
I just learned the guitar solo 😊 I'm not the greatest at it, but I am considering doing a cover of this song with the basic version of the solo I learned.
Handguns, Citizen, The story So Far, State Champs, The Wonder Years, Set Your Goals.... Pop punk bands that are not even close to what you're talking about
Morgan Farr Kind late for this but, i guess it's for everyone that can truly relate this song to something in their lifes. Anyway, the chorus and brigde hit you so hard for it's true that fucking hurts man.
@@andreimatheus9306 A decade on and this masterpiece takes another dimension... My Mom finally lost her mind and honestly it's killing me to walk away from her but it's what's best for both of us...
the machine gun drumming...the guitar riffs at the end...its just freakin perfect...everything yellowcard does is just pure brilliance...and that comes from a guy who hates the Pop Punk genre...
Thx my (not so into that music)friend
The drumming patterns are insane by LP!!
this is seriously one of their top 3 songs... yellowcard is awesome
It is they’re beet song imo. These guys are so underrated (yes, I did respond a decade late)
The violin though.. makes this so epic
No it's Ryan's amazing voice that makes this band epic
Holy shit this album kicks ass. I wasn't expecting them to be able to top "When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes" in just over a year, but I think that they might have. Songs like this one and "Sleep in the Snow" are fantastic.

Ryan Mendez really stepped out of his comfort zone for this one. Beautiful.
drums are sick

The energy on this song is unbelievable. Cannot stop nodding my head the whole time
The drumming slaps in this
Yellowcard's best song ever
Here I go again
Another leap of faith
I close my eyes and wait to fall
I see a future in which I will soon become
The only truth you know at all
You wanna know what I'm thinking
I think about back then
Back when we built something new
The world was ours to conquer
And we were not afraid to lose ourselves
Somewhere inside this, you changed
And I could never follow you that way
I miss you madly and it's raining on the coast
I'm supposed to say "this was your loss", and "I'm fine"
I stare for hours at these numbers in my hand
But ringing you would mend your heart, and break mine
You wanna know what I'm thinking
I think about back then
Back when we built something new
The world was ours to conquer
And we were not afraid to lose ourselves
Somewhere inside this, you changed
And I could never follow you that way
We laugh 'til we cry
(With smoke in our eyes)
Just like old times
Never again
That was back then
Back when we built something new
The world was ours to conquer
And we were not afraid to lose ourselves
Somewhere inside this, you changed
And I could never follow you that way
Somewhere inside this, you changed
And I could never follow you that way
I miss this music
I almost bursted in tears when i listened to the lyrics on the Chorus..
Them feels..
kareemie YES! The fellings man. The nostalgic fellings. When they come you better let them into your heart and just feels and cry, if want to.
Bursted 😄😄 but, no, I feel ya 😁
seriously the best song on this whole album :) everything is perfect.
This song is definitely the most underrated from this band, and its probably one of the best this band has ever done
my buddy just moved. a week prior to that, we were driving down main ST. and miles aprat came on and i lost my voice singing it with him. so we have been on a yellowcard kick since then..putting this song into the situation is almost perfect...miss ya, stubbs..
This song holy just HOLY SHIT. This caps off as their best song for me.
That drum track is just brilliant, the softness in the first verse is so precise this was LP's greatest track i think
.. love how they still sound like they did when i first found them on myspace! so many memories they bring from high school, the girls i used to love, skateboarding, and driver 3 on xbox!
Possibly my favorite song on this album. Just a great song.
This solo is like 'Life of a Salesman' meets 'Takedown' meets Dragonforce.
Fucking right!
💛🤠I thank God that Yellowcard put the soundtrack in my life🤠💛
this song is kickass
We laugh 'till we cry, just like old times. Never again, that was back then
Hannah Massey ikr
Did I just hear a guitar solo from Yellowcard? They need to do this more often.
Listen to The Takedown, Holly Wood Died, Lift A Sail, etc.
This is the best track from the album...
This album is great.

Love this comment. LP leaving hurt, but Nate did a bang up job as far as I'm concerned. Here's to the last leg of the journey!
id still say I miss some double kick on the fast parts, but he kills it
The guitar solo is freakin' perfect.
With the exception of 'The Sound of You and Me', 'For You, and Your Denial', 'Sing For Me', 'Be the Young', and probably a few others.
Still a great track. :)
i'm excited for this album!
S P E T T A C O L A R E sotto tutti i punti di vista. Melodia, velocità, parte strumentale.... e poi il testo... ! grandiosi.
It's been a while since I heard this kind of beat from them. :)
Best song of the album
I'm curious to see how they adapt to a new drummer. Let's be honest no one can ever beat LP.
Rachel Hawkins LP and Ben harper were such badasses sucks that they left
This is true
Except maybe travis barker
Damn....this deserves much , much more views
As a 22 year old male i almost cried after hearing this song.
Especially because of the last sentence.
kareemie I have 24 now and it's almost made me cry like a 1 month year old baby. It hit so hard that you can't runaway. We all, in some point in life get that nostalgic momentum on big time. AMAZING! my favorite from this album!
Here i am alive, Always Summer, Rivertown Blues. My favourite songs by Yellowcard, And of all time :)
"I miss you madly and it's raining on the coast"
Perfect

2:48 YC Decied to break genre? Woah sweeeeet
LP
This is yellow card?
LP was the former Drummers initials - Longineu W. Parsons
Times when we built something new and the world was ours to concur, but not falter.
Actually, I remember now that Sean O. said "The Sound of You and Me" was his fav. And Sean Mackin said "See Me Smiling" and "Be the Young".
I couldn't agree with you more. Those bands sold out BIG time. So far yellowcard has stayed pretty true to the genre.
fav song on the album but its so hard to choose.
AWESOME
I couldn't agree with you more...along with Awakening :)
this album is a solid one...but i still think Paperwalls and Ocean are still the best...
For all of you out there who hated Here I am Alive for it's pop qualities. I would say that this and Surface of the Sun more than make up for that song!
dude LP plays some FUCKING BRILLIANT drum parts on this song!!! HOLY CRAP =DDD
Sometimes I dream, we laugh til we cry.
Yellowcard.
Wat a rip roaring solo..goddamn👍
All Dislikes are Obviously Accidental! So Stop hating on them.... And Thanks YellowCard you got me through my lessons today without falling asleep ;)
damn LP
I have many words to explain Yellowcard but to sum it... I can refer to them as "Awesomely Cool!"
It's my favorite one too.
Couldn't put it better myself.
That's funny since both Sean Mackin and Ryan Mendez have stated that they are Dragonforce fans. I'm actually not an avid follower of Dragonforce, whereas Yellowcard is one of my two favorite bands. Still, I see nothing insulting to either band in a passing comparison.
Cada dia, cada produccion, cada trabajo hacen su trabajo bien hecho'
Well, they used to be called a alternate rock band but I can sort of see your point, they seem to switch between the two with each song they produce.
love it
Deveria ter ganhado um video clipe assim como todas do Southern air melhor álbum do Mundo!
Sensacional!
Awesome
Alright. 1:17 is killer. That line is definitely my favorite part of this song.
I need to cover this soon 😁😁😁 two styles: the original version and a bluegrass/folk punk cover
DISCOVER THE AWESOME SOUNDS OF YELLOWCARD POP-PUNK HATERS\DISLIKERS!

I just learned the guitar solo 😊 I'm not the greatest at it, but I am considering doing a cover of this song with the basic version of the solo I learned.

Handguns, Citizen, The story So Far, State Champs, The Wonder Years, Set Your Goals.... Pop punk bands that are not even close to what you're talking about
It sounds like The Sound of You and Me part 2

The First off MANY! XD
2 dislikes? Who in the hell would do that?!
1 dislike? Boys, time for a duck hunt.
Kinda hate how true this song is to me...
Morgan Farr Kind late for this but, i guess it's for everyone that can truly relate this song to something in their lifes. Anyway, the chorus and brigde hit you so hard for it's true that fucking hurts man.
Updating... Still fucking hurts!
