My first truck was a 62 custom L/B fleet 283 pwr gld Big Black Glass in 86 ! Love to have her back ! That's gonna be a Beauty when ur done ! Good Luck to ya ! 😁👍
Wonderful! Thanks much, I’ve got a “63” as well, love the old truck. I’m swapping the current 383 Stroker, for a hotter one soon with Tremec 5 speed. Thanks so much, hey did you remove the clip by yourself? Cool old truck! “Keep the old steel rolling”❤
I would say my smallblock would mild. I thought of a tremec to cruise but had the Muncie in stock so to speak. I had some help lifting the front clip off. It was much heavier then I expected. 63 is the best year in my opinion.
They always rust in the fenders and the bracket that way. I was wondering why. Is it maybe the closing peice or seals. Seems like something could.be done to prevent that. Thanks for the video
From what I have read, GM should have drilled a hole in the bottom of the inner brace. As it is, there is no way for the dirt and water to drain out. Each of these are filled with dust. When they are replaced, people drill a whole in the bottom of the brace to allow dirt and water to fall out or at least dry fast.
@@OLDMD63C10 From the 47-73 forum we both are on I used the Captfab bracket it works very well. Does anyone know what years of Chevy trucks from 60 to 66. What years had emblems on the fenders factory?🤷 How about what was the last year that they used the first number of the vin as the year of the truck🤔 How about 🤔 Why did Chevy Trucks get a redesigned frame and suspension in 1963?
As to the frame, what I had read, but not confirmed other then reading what others have said, is that Chrysler filed or threatened a lawsuit because they had a patent on torsion bar type suspension. So, Chevy got rid of it for 63 and onward to prevent the lawsuit.

That is a good point. Some times it is cheaper to get a hole panel instead of doing patches. I have heard AMD has better quality. Have you fitted them yet to your truck?
inner fenders went on pretty well, right side was almost to good, left side needed a little persuasion, only needed to enlarge 1 hole. outer fenders will be a few days after my appointments@@OLDMD63C10
dont know where my reply went, but right inner fender went on fine left one needed a little bit of forcing, and 2 holes enlarged. outers will be later. and as for lmc used the cab mount channels and they were horrible, needed to cut and reform all 4, would be easier to have fabbed my own@@OLDMD63C10
front outer fenders, had to remove some of the metal between the holes that bolt under the cowl, and the 4 holes on top do not line up was able to elongate 2 to fit. the 2 closest to cowl dont even reach the inner fender. so i will need to fab something for it. other holes worked fine. @@OLDMD63C10

good project, good series. I wish you would stop calling the truck Hank.
old cars should have womens names as the are just as cantankerous.
pictures with your phone or camera are great to have when you begin reassembly
Took a bunch. For some of the clips on the frame, I started taking measurements and sketched locations for reassembling
single pot brake res, upgrade please!

ques. 1: '64, 65 66. I believe. Ques. 3, ditched the torsion bar suspension in favor of coil springs.
I think for the emblems it started in 63. My 62 has them on the cowl. The 63-66 emblems are all different but they are on the fenders.
I am not sure on the vin number question.

Just my opinion, but i think those 1960 to 1966 C and K series trucks are hideously ugly. Ugly body lines and grill, but as i said just my opinion.
