I love it just for the "time to go to OfficeWorks!" moment. Great work Jon.

If you use strapping behind the glass, then you could screw it into multiple studs, then fasten the glass to the strapping. This would give you the best support instead of drywall screws.

Great job! I have a few questions - more observations. Have you thought about rubber washers (they come in white) to guard the glass from the direct metal contact? Also, I was sitting here at my desk observing my whiteboard, and I noticed that the surface isn't "as smooth as glass," so I thought that you might want to take a clear spray paint/coating and spray the business end of the whiteboard; it might give some needed resistance to the marker and show up more brilliantly - Thoughts?

Can you show a picture of how you spaced it out from the wall ? what tubes and screws did you use on that? did it sag at all?

Can you attach white paper behind glass instead of painting it?

I think so. I'm pretty sure most glass used in table tops is tempered, but I'm not a glass expert and I don't even know the source of the glass in the first place.

if its 1/2" it is usually not tempered. If it is 1/4" or 3/8" it is usually tempered.

Lol @ hello world on the white board.
Ever consider whiteboard paint directly on the wall instead?

There are no highly rated whiteboard paints currently on the market.

What kind of white paint is it? Gloss or Emulsion?

cant you just buy one of those empty picture frames with a glass pane on it? Then hanging it would be just hammer and nails and you can even swap out the background easily. (like a weekly schedule in bg or whatever)
