It's hard to see those clips now. Reckful needed someone, maybe even someone he didn't deserve but he still needed someone in his darkest hour.
I hope dr.k and darkviperau do a stream together sometime. he was really badly effected by reckful's death, he really looked upto him him as a friend and a mentor, and has similar issues as reckful had.

Same my dude. He was like a close friend to me, even though it was all parasocial. He was a beacon of light, proof that it's possible to conquer my own mental illnesses, so when he died, I lost a large chunk of hope that I had for myself. fuck.
Same man... I truly loved and rooted for the guy even though I never met him. The world was just a better place with him in it.
The day I learned who Reckful/Byron was, was the day everyone lost him. I had no idea who he was. I never had the chance to follow him & I would have if I known who he was.
It really says a lot on how much of an impact someone can have on a lot of people, even me, someone who was absolutely clueless to who he even was.
I cried with everyone that day & tears still fall to this day. I cant help but bow before him when i see him in the cathedral(square). 💛

Everytime I see Reckful it makes me emotional, to the point of crying. I'm not a depressed type of person, but I do think I lost something profound when Reckful passed away. Even though I didn't know him he was a pretty big part of my day to day life and I really looked up to him. I miss him to this day and hes had such a huge impact on my life.
I miss you Byron, I wish you were still here.

Seeing the response to the simple title of "Bye", I'd say you have and then some.
I saw the $25 a week for coaching and I thought "damn that kinda seems like a lot", so I went to go see how much it costs regularly. Holy fuck. like $100 dollars an HOUR? Damn Dr. K, doing a real service out here.
If the couching is good as that they say 25$ is super cheap, it's actually good that is it not free because that money keeps the workers motivated to do a good job since they get paid. I'd be more worried if it was completely free since that wouldn't be sustainable.
@@nullx2368 As someone in the last two weeks of the program, I think it's pretty aight.
It also helps the people being coached stick to it, it’s a lot easier to ditch something you get for free than to ditch something you paid for. You see this a lot in workshops for example the attendance rate is much higher in paid workshops in comparison to workshops you can sign up to for free.

I thought I was over 2020 and now I keep seeing Reckful's name pop up everywhere and I can't help but remember he isn't here with us.
Everytime.. He takes me back to his trips in Japan and Austin and meeting so many cool people. He taught me all the social skills I know now today, if it wasn't for him I literally wouldn't have known hundreds of people he encouraged me a 15 year at the time to be sociable and how to live life. He showed me a road that I wouldn't have gotten anywhere else. I know so many people thanks to him, I moved schools 3 times in my Highschool year and now I'm finishing up my senior year. I wouldn't have been able to make nearly as many friends if he didn't give me to courage to not be afraid. To talk to people and stand you ground. To meet strangers and new people and not to ignore when people need help and are feeling down. His stream and his videos where my safespace to laugh and experience the world from my room.
Thank you so much Dr. K for helping him through the last year of his life. Thank you for encouraging people to get help... Thank you for grieving with us. *Thank you*
As an aspiring therapist trying to decide how I want to go about helping other people, and seeing your reality, your ability to crack through societal expectations and deliver the core of what someone needs to hear, all of that to me is just... Inspiring to me. I'll be able to give people what they need one day, and hopefully I'll know when to be gentle and kind, and when to be blunt. So many people are in need of not just good mental help, but also good people that care about them when they get it. Thank you, Dr. K

HGGG growth is the best thing that happened in 2020. Also thanks for the big feels at 7:37 and the other 30 times I've cried watching the interviews this year. Dropped my current profession in October to get the training to become a therapist and this channel had a huge influence on my decision.
I knew some sort of tribute to reckful was surely coming at the end and it didn’t stop the tears flowing 😭
Dr K is a living legend , a saint and the chad of all chads. I hope he is looked back on as having one of the biggest positive effects on mental health ever. The scale at which HealthyGamer will get to and the amount of people the coaches will help will be unprecedented.

That short bit at the very end with Reckful really got me. I kind of expected him to be the last person to pop up on screen but somehow wasn't ready. He was the first streamer I watched on Twitch and had followed him for about six years. There was something really incredible about that man, and months later it's shocking to me how easily I get emotional when I'm reminded of him. Just the other day Mizkif talked about him for a second on stream and I was surprised how quickly I got bummed out. All the people who were there for him in some compacity, especially the streamers because I think him being on stream was a slight distraction from his darker thoughts, have meant a lot more to me this past year. I remember watching Reckful's first stream with Dr. K and couldn't feel happier for him to be finally getting some good help and breakthrough revelations. Some wounds never heal and some scars never form though, I guess. Easily one of the worst moments of the year for me by far. Fuck you, 2020.
I'm not going to lie, I realized I've been watching a lot less of your content lately. I felt weirdly guilty about it because I've learned so much from your videos and I feel like I owe you so much. But then it dawned on me that the main reason why I've been watching your content less is because I've actually been doing pretty well. I'm getting a little emotional writing this down, but I feel like I've been watching less and less of your content lately is because I've been needing it less and less. That's not to say that everything's perfect, or I'm exactly where I want to be yet. But it's just to express how grateful I am for what you do and the impact it's had on my life. Dr K was a sensation for me when I found him, such a wonderful human! His conversations with people are about hardships and negativity on the surface but are filled with love and warmth at the core. They give me hope. And so many insights and lessons to learn in understanding myself and other people. Many will remember 2020 as the year of bad news, isolation, and detachment from community.
I will remember 2020 as the year Dr. K made me believe not just in my humanity again, but the humanity in all.
Dr. K, I know that this is just another comment amongst many. But if you read this... I'm still working my way through life, but one day I'll have enough resources and energy to pay you back for all you've done. I promise. Meanwhile, I'll take your words to heart, and spread the AOE healing you've given me, and channel it to the ones who need it in my life.

What doctor K has taught me:
It's important that you be you and not somebody else? Who are you though and how do you answer that question? Only you can answer that question because only you know the real you. Yes it is going to hurt when someone says something bad about you but guess what you are still you. It's important that you can look at yourself though from another angle so you can see how others look at you but also reflect on yourself.
Think more and think less what does this mean? It's about taking in more situations than one and changing your perspective to see the better in life. Working a shit job such as a line cook? Just think you like food imagine the faces on the people when they get their food 95% of them will probably be super ecstatic so be happy you can put a smile on their face like when you get your food. If you are sad look around you you probably have food shelter and some clothes at least it's better than having nothing and it's not the end of the world because you can only go up from your lowest points. Think less about what is bothering you and more about how to fix it and take action on that because you can't change something you don't to fix.
It's important to take time for yourself rather it be alone at home or in nature just make sure you are actually focusing on what you are doing what you want and how to fix it and not just wasting your time doing nothing. Taking breaks is essential just make sure you do not fall while looking over the cliffs.
Thank you everyone at healthygamergg the last week I have been sick and has allowed me to sit and reflect on my life and the things I do in it. It feels like I can walk again thanks to all of the information you have put out.

I'm not in the discord or anything but I was watching this channel at like 2k subs, so seeing where Dr.K and HealthyGamerGG is now just makes my heart warm inside. I NEED THERAPY AFTER WHAT I WENT THRU READING THAT TITLE
This year has been so hard on me mentally. We lost Byron, my gf of five years broke up with me during that week, we got back together then I moved in with her and had to evacuate due to fires and learned I had severe issues with loss and grief. I could not sleep for a couple weeks and was grieving the loss of my father because I moved. My gf broke up with me for good then. I got off medication after being on meds for 20 fucking years (since she 12) I started seeing a therapist for the first time in ages. I hope everyone here continues to work on themselves. It's been hell but there is a light. I love you all. Thank you Dr K.
