This 96-97's Newcastle team (Shearer, Ferdinand, Ginolas...) was one the hottest and most exciting that ever been in the english league don't you think ?
That was our golden team...could'nt make that game but nearly crashed through celebrating in my car on the m6 while it was throwing it down listening to it on the radio when prince albert popped in the 5th. Scary minute that was.
MichaelCasanovaMusic Yeah and a lot better support as well. It annoys me when I see young lads walk around Newcastle in their Arsenal & Chelsea tops etc. A lot of people in Newcastle are going to Rugby now. The falcons is becoming the peoples choice!!!
I'm a Derby fan but this is the one goal I always think of from the PL even though it is 25 years ago. Remember watching the match on Sky like it was yesterday.
This is the video I always watch after a disapointing game, such yesterday's match against Blackburn. Proud to be a Newcastle supporter! And I will travel to St. James' Park for the first time next spring, after supporting Newcastle since 1996. Norwegian Magpie
I remember watching that game as if it was yesterday...never thought in 8years time id see them in the championship...really hope ye make it back to the premiership. Class supporters!
im a man utd fan..i watched this game live......NUFC played us off the pitch that day....great goals and great pass work i dont feel sad wen i watch this...i feel happy cos thats wat football is...u never know wat ur next game is gona be like
Amazing, i not a newcastle fan but this is one of my all time best premiership memorys, absolutley brilliant, love it when man utd prawn sarnie brigade get trashed.
The cheer joy the people in Newcastle squad had in these days is something I miss really much. To see a squad playing for the fun of it is a bit lost in todays premier league from my point of view. Thank you Keegan!
Agreed. One of the best goals I've ever seen. An absolutely unstoppable shot that was struck beautifully! You literally could not have placed the ball better with your hand and no goalkeeper in history could have got anywhere near saving that shot.
One of the happiest days of my life, I was in a pub near Blackburn with me Toon top on watching the game with this feckin huge Manc at the end of the bar who was having a wobbly. When Shearer scored I went just a bit mental, landlady said 'you're enjoying this, aren't you?'. I said 'Tell you what. if we get another, it's up there with watching my kids being born...'. Albert scored, I was a real mess, tears streaming down me face, just feckin fantastic.
A true football fan. Im a gooner and when youve been beat youre beat. i remember a littlewoods cup game at High bury when your lot done us 6-something lee sharpe hatrick he was the best away team player at highbury ive ever seen he took us apart.
i love newcastle united from 1994. i am 29 and unfortunately i havent seen the team playing in saint james park because i am greek.only in one game against panionios for uefa i had seen them playing and it was an amazing feeling.greetings to all newcastle fans arround the world.dam fucking sunderland!!!!!!! michael greece
Ginola and Beardsley in the same team together, thats a dream! 2 of the best and most under rated palyers of all time. Both had 2 amazing feet. Philipe Alberts goal was utter humiliation. Losing 4-0 then a centre back chips your goal keeper who was recognised as the best keeper in the world :D
I loved it when my mate who supports Man U (he's from Berkshire if you care to look that up) said Andy Grey loves Arsenal. The Peacock goal is clear evidence it's Man U he's in love with.
This was a great day. Most people se us as a bottam to middle club but this game showed people we can play. Ripped a brand new leather jacket watching this game in the stands. That ho much we celebrated. People were going mad!!
I watched that in a bar in Manchester. Just me and me mate with Black and White shirts on shouting wa fucking heeds off! The rest of the bar were all in Red. HAHAHAHA!!!!!! Priceless!!!!!!
welcome back Newcastle!! last season wasn't the same without you! GREAT FANS. GREAT CLUB!! Next year: 1)Newcastle 2)Liverpool 3)Arsenal The Toon=The Pride of English/European Football! Respect!
As I watch the Toon play in the purgatory of the championship this season, this match reminds me of their finest hour of the past 20 years. If they had only held on for the last month and won the title that season!
im a man utd fan...we got played off the park that day...fair play to em...i remeber watching it live and this is why we love football....anything can happen
Shearer, Ginola and Ferdinand made up such a sharp trident. Albert, Batty and even Beardsley also made a great contribution. Actually, there ar big differences between that Newcastle and nowadays.
I remember this match fondly. After the aggro we got from the first goal i remember looking over at a Man Utd fan in the pub i was in after Ginola's 2nd goal and saying "Did that one go over the line"? lol
What a team we had back then. One of the best goal I have seen at St jAMES was Ginola's ripper. Sadly a player of his prowess wasn't utilised properly and allowed to leave so Tottenham could benefit from his class. May we survivie the drop, ameen!
This video reminds me the shearer's golden moment in Newcastle, it was really outstanding team at tht moment, Ginola, ferdin,shearer,...sigh..really wish to see newcastle could come back again!! with the lead of KK : )..Newcastle u needs to be NEW!!!in terms of NEW-->Players: )
Lee....on a day, were Newcastle would have taken one. Here they are looking for number five, with Phillipe ALBERRRRRRTTTTTTOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!! ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS!!!!! still my favourite goal in history :)
He never gets a lot of praise for it but Alan Shearer IMO was a very underrated crosser of the ball. The cross he delivers for Ferdinand's goal is brilliant.
1/4/2012 "And on a day when Newcastle would've taken one, here they are looking for number 3. With Phil(ippe) JOOOOOONEEEEES, OOOOOOOOHH! ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS!!!!"
Yeah i heard that about Newcastle i was massively surprised but having lived there for 3 years there's no doubt that football comes second to rugby there.
"Stanley Matthews at his best couldn't do that" And thats why shearer is the best ever the premier league has seen. After career threatening injuries and loss of a yard of pace he was good enough to adapt and change his style of play to allow him to still score goals getting into double figures at 36. Can you say the same of the Henry's, Owen's and V Nistelrooys of this world, no you cant. There's only Shearer, Scholes, Giggs and Sheringham that had enough ability not to need that yard of pace.
The fifth goal has to be one of the great all time premier league goals
This 96-97's Newcastle team (Shearer, Ferdinand, Ginolas...) was one the hottest and most exciting that ever been in the english league don't you think ?
That was our golden team...could'nt make that game but nearly crashed through celebrating in my car on the m6 while it was throwing it down listening to it on the radio when prince albert popped in the 5th.
Scary minute that was.
Newcastle were exciting to watch, but Man Utd had the know-how to win the trophies
They weren't called "The Entertainers" for nothing!!
Yer but we won nothing, being a good side doesn't go down in history, winning does. Keegan bottled it.
what time is it? 5 past Schmeichel :)
Which team won the league that season though
Newcastle had a fantastic team here, definitely proper football.
MichaelCasanovaMusic Yeah and a lot better support as well. It annoys me when I see young lads walk around Newcastle in their Arsenal & Chelsea tops etc. A lot of people in Newcastle are going to Rugby now. The falcons is becoming the peoples choice!!!
Number 2 is an outstanding goal, but the 5th but Albert still gives me goose bumps.
I still love Andy Gray's 'Oh dear' after the first goal when the crushing reality hits him that he's wrong & also a massive tool.
im manchester united fan and shearer is one of my favourite strikers ever from england
"PHILLIPE ALBEEEERRRT, OOOOOOOHHHHH!!!! ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS!!!!"
I'm a Liverpool fan but regardless the Albert goal is a thing of pure beauty.
Blast Thunder still takes real skill and intelligence to execute and think of it
It's hard to execute goals like that in the heat of the moment you know,
Wonderful goal !!!
I'm a Derby fan but this is the one goal I always think of from the PL even though it is 25 years ago. Remember watching the match on Sky like it was yesterday.
Such glorious memories, I remember listening to this on the radio all those years ago :[
Phillipe Albert, magnificent goal.
This is the video I always watch after a disapointing game, such yesterday's match against Blackburn. Proud to be a Newcastle supporter! And I will travel to St. James' Park for the first time next spring, after supporting Newcastle since 1996.
Norwegian Magpie
wow the 2nd and 5th goal, good old PL
brilliant to watch this again.what a team,i forgot how good the goals were, ginolas, fantastic, and alberes well marvelous
Albert's goal was insane!
All of these goals are quality and some of the best goals I've seen in a match. And since it's against Man Utd., it makes them about 10x sweeter.
simply the best toon team what a game what a season, the best newcastle side i have had the good fortune to watch and support haway the lads!!
phenomenal from newcastle. just look at that superb long-passing leading up to the 4th goal. cant wait to see their return to the premier league!
I remember watching that game as if it was yesterday...never thought in 8years time id see them in the championship...really hope ye make it back to the premiership. Class supporters!
The last goal is just spine tingling!
im a man utd fan..i watched this game live......NUFC played us off the pitch that day....great goals and great pass work
i dont feel sad wen i watch this...i feel happy cos thats wat football is...u never know wat ur next game is gona be like
im a man utd fan...but this performance by newcastle was absolute pearl..thanks for sharing.
Amazing, i not a newcastle fan but this is one of my all time best premiership memorys, absolutley brilliant, love it when man utd prawn sarnie brigade get trashed.

Beast David Ginola. Best goal I've ever seen him score holy shit
Agreed. One of the best goals I've ever seen. An absolutely unstoppable shot that was struck beautifully! You literally could not have placed the ball better with your hand and no goalkeeper in history could have got anywhere near saving that shot.
Thanks for uploading this, what a day that was.
Albert's goal was sublime! Not bad for a "wee club in the North-east"!
The Ginola & Albert goals are just magical
These were great days and great memories but they are long gone. We must live in the future instead of the past.
Gotta love the toon. Wish I was there now. Now I live in the states....still watch the games though
Great moments of a great squad! I'm sure The Toons will stay in the league...a warm hug for all the Newcastle fans from Croatia
ginola's goal was out of this world. just like most of his other goals. what a sexy man lol!!
The glorious Toon army at its best, would love to see scores like this again, come on newcastle we can do it again
One of the happiest days of my life, I was in a pub near Blackburn with me Toon top on watching the game with this feckin huge Manc at the end of the bar who was having a wobbly. Manchester United hadn't reached their peak at this stage. I remember this game well, great goal by Albert.
That's great football. Fifth goal is pure magic.
Newcastle forever. Been supporting them since I was five
Sunderland fan in peace.. Albert and Ginola's goals were frickin amazing
I remember this one of the best days ever!
I'm a Manchester United fan through and through but mad props to Newcastle for playing some beautiful football

Every real football fan appreciates this
though im a lpool fan that second goal was a pure class rocket!
The best game ever!!!
Greetings to all NUFC fans from Macedonia!
wow getting shivers watching this. proper premiership football at its best. wish it was still like this and not the hollywood football we have now.
I loved it when my mate who supports Man U (he's from Berkshire if you care to look that up) said Andy Grey loves Arsenal. The Peacock goal is clear evidence it's Man U he's in love with.
Philippe Albert goal still until today a beauty 😍❤️👍
That was BRILLIANT!
How is the 5th goal possible. amazing. just amazing!!
This was a great day. Most people se us as a bottam to middle club but this game showed people we can play. Ripped a brand new leather jacket watching this game in the stands. That ho much we celebrated. People were going mad!!

"I would love it if we beat them, love it!" ...and they did! In style too
As I watch the Toon play in the purgatory of the championship this season, this match reminds me of their finest hour of the past 20 years. If they had only held on for the last month and won the title that season!
ginola....what a player, and what a strike!

Ginolas goal was fantastic. This match just proves to never underestimate the underdog.
what a team we had, great to watch and always scoring plenty of goals.king keegan.
the hairs still stand up on the back of my neck on the phillipe Albert goal. Great Memories.
Toon for life
One of the greatest football rosters of all time. I doubt Newcastle will ever have a team as good as this one. :( Great performance.
I'll NEVER forget this one... philipe Albert...!
Oneof the greatest nights of prem football, go you geordies!!! Luv from a gooner!!!!
Looking for number five....with Philippe Albeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwww...Absolutely glorious!

Shearer, Ginola and Ferdinand made up such a sharp trident. Albert, Batty and even Beardsley also made a great contribution. Actually, there ar big differences between that Newcastle and nowadays.
Its matches like this that make me proud to be a geordie.
I remember this match fondly. After the aggro we got from the first goal i remember looking over at a Man Utd fan in the pub i was in after Ginola's 2nd goal and saying "Did that one go over the line"? lol

"The Entertainers", has the best crowd and one of the best attacking football of EPL History.
miss this great Newcastle so much!!!
SHeraer was great!
Magic. Regards from Bilbao. We don´t forget Newcastle United.
I believe that even though we stumbled at the end and finished 2nd, we were still the best team that season
Philip albert...ahhh.....glorious!

That last goal was brilliant.
Beautiful
you are so right about the goals
Lee....on a day, were Newcastle would have taken one. Here they are looking for number five, with Phillipe ALBERRRRRRTTTTTTOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!! ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS!!!!!
still my favourite goal in history :)
Toon since 1996. Gotta love this one right here, best match EVER!
Now let's get back to EPL and try to hammer ManU again :)
phenomenal vision on the fifth goal to catch the keeper off his line there
He never gets a lot of praise for it but Alan Shearer IMO was a very underrated crosser of the ball. The cross he delivers for Ferdinand's goal is brilliant.
the classic newcastle adidas grandad coller kit in the 1995-97 seasons is the best kit football history
1/4/2012
"And on a day when Newcastle would've taken one, here they are looking for number 3. With Phil(ippe) JOOOOOONEEEEES, OOOOOOOOHH! ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS!!!!"
lets bring games like this back kevin mate
I have to applaud Schmeichel's double save, absolutely amazing
Yeah i heard that about Newcastle i was massively surprised but having lived there for 3 years there's no doubt that football comes second to rugby there.
when i score on sunday....im going to celebrate like philippe....epic.....i love the toon
Magnifique but de David Ginola n°14 😉
All we need is andy carol back and we can be that team again.
