    The very next song in the concert is a must: Design your Universe. An absolute show stopper, with everything that makes Epica Epica.

      The title sounds great enough. I'm sure the song would be awesome - thanks for the recommendation! If "what makes Epica, Epica" is implying some heavier stuff, since someone else alluded to that, I'd be down for it!

      We may very well do so! Awesome sounding title and seems to come highly recommended! Hopefully we shall see you around again in the comments when we get around to it - I feel like I've seen you around when we did Nightwish, but if not we'd definitely love to see you sub so we can see more of your positive comments/encouragement around! :)

    Sancta Terra is about a suicide bomber. Its part of their only concept album The Devine Conspiracy. 9-11 was the inspiration for the album.
    Next you should check out something from thier new album which came out 4 weeks ago. KOH3 is from that album but try one of the singles from it. Abyss of Tyme would be my recommendation. it was the first single release.
    Btw... lWatch the videos till the end. that end showed the chemistry between them.

      Interesting they would have picked something so recent (and even touchy for some) as an inspiration. I was thinking it was more of a berserker with mixed mythology kinda thing.
      I watched it until the end but just cut it. Saw them give the cheek kisses. I can definitely see the amount of respect the two vocalists had for each other.
      Abyss of Time seems like it would be a good choice, because it popped up when I searched the last song and it sounds very well liked. Thanks for the recs!

    Sancta Terra is a Latin term for Holy Land. It's basically a song written in the point of view of a suicide bomber. Check more EPICA. They're way way heavy and complex and way interesting than Nightwish.

      @ChickenandFriendsGaming  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback! We are getting more requests to check them out, so we just might! I get the sense they are heavier, so I am intrigued to see the death metal elements they bring that everyone is talking about! If you haven't already subbed, it would be awesome if you did! This way you get a notification when we post our next reaction and you help us on our path to partner! :)

    i goes about a suezid Bomber .....Epica is much harder with some deathmetal influrentes and komplexer than Nightwish .....epica never gets boring because you keep discovering something new ... has been my favorite band ever since it was around ....one of my favorits Epica - Design Your Universe (Retrospect)

      Yeah, I really dug their sound! Can see the death influences in there for sure. Guess I wasn't too far off with the analysis, although I suppose it would have been hard to get the specificity in the lyrics without research.
      Thanks for the comment and views! I may do more of them in the future, so be sure to sub so I can catch you around!

      @@ChickenandFriendsGaming this is a commercial song ....there a no deathmetal influences ....in normaly songs are 50% growling .....in perfekt harmony with the clean vocals from Simone ....Simone and Floor are real frends from the musicschool ....they have the same vocalcoach ...
      have fun on your jorney

      I meant more in the overall tone of the guitars, some things the bassist was doing in the "breakdown" sections (if you can call them that), a few of the flourishes and accents the drummer used and some of the tremalo picking the guitarist implemented. Though you can generally see these used in many different genres of metal and harder rock, I personally felt a death metal connection, but that could have just been my interpretation of those minor details. Like you said, I could totally see this song potentially being more commercial release within a larger catalogue - like a more catchy single - with a lot more breadth and variety presented in other tracks. I'm definitely down to hear some stuff with more growling, though. If the sound lands somewhere between Nightwish and Dimmu Borgir then I'll be stoked.

    To elaborate on some of the comments below, this song is about a suicide bomber who is looking forward to his reward in heaven, but to his surprise, that's not where he finds himself.

    • @ChickenandFriendsGaming
      @ChickenandFriendsGaming  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hah! Yeah, some people had mentioned that as well. I'm sure some Americans listening may have been like "I wish he wouldn't have been happy in Hell, though." But, I found it an interesting twist.
      Good to see you again!

    Yes they don't sound like Nightwish tho also symphonic, their area is in symphonic death metal

      Nice to see you again!
      I had heard that, which makes me all the more intrigued to hear more of them. I had basically said that if Nightwish is just symphonic metal and Dimmu Borgir is Symphonic Black Metal (I love DB), then Epica being symphonic death metal is sort of the midpoint between them and I am here for that.

      Yeah, someone mentioned that! That's really cool - what a talented school to produce such a crop of singers! I cut it from the video, but I saw the embrace at the end of the performance. Awesome to see their friendship within their respective scenes!
