  • Here we dyno tuned my silverado, mods are a tsp stage 2 cam, 102mm intake manifold, and running on e85.
    Gains made were slightly limited due to stock driveshaft and big fan restricting power, electric fans would allow some power gains.

    Numbers are spot on for a cam only 5.3 on a Dynojet. Not having any headers, and cai are robbing you of power and so is the clutch fan. Most cammed 5.3 with bolts on make from 280-310 on my Dynojet.

    I think the 102mm and intake Classifies that as a Bolton. You'll be in that same category until you boost it. Nice truck though. Get some of that fast paint or wrap and you get/look faster also.

      yessir! the main reason for the tune was really just to dial in the cam, i wasn’t expecting big numbers without many bolt ons! Turbos are in the plans!

    K&n caí
    And 3inch axle back exhaust.
    I think once you get your headers you will be very happy.

      @@ErikRose_ boost is the way to go. I did the full bolt on and cam for my C6 and now I have a ECS supercharger. It's never ending lol. I definitely miss my 04 Silverado 2500 reg can long bed. Best truck I've ever owned.

    what is the rim / size of the rim in the front? did you need to cut at all?

      its a 17 and no for drop spindles 17 is the smallest you can go but i would recommend 18 and bigger 👌

    I think the 103 mm throttlebody and intake are hurting you on this... unless a 5.3 is making 500 hp it doesn't need that much. We have tested many configurations on the dyno and to big can hurt it. Just a thought. Killer truck man, power numbers are great but how does it drive? That's what matters. Also get some longtybes and it will wake it up and put you around 300 wheel

      Appreciate bro! Yeah i’ve heard different things on the 102mm but only reason I went with 102mm is because I plan on going turbo in the future and Ive heard 102mm is better!

      ​@@ErikRose_ its all about matching up the parts with that final tune. If going big throttle body, you gotta go big exhaust, cam, fuel, timing and gotta include the tranny. Get a Stall that will put that power down when the engine speed gets up to a sweet spot for the hole shot. Gearing also. Everything being done, even if its just "one mod" will not give the best results without matching everything from the engine all the way back to the gear. Also got to take into consideration the tire size, since it plays a roll in your actual gear ratio. Other than that, you are on the right path! Great job!

    I stuck with the stock 5.3 intake manifold did a btr stage 4 cam kit 255lph fuel filter and 80lb injectors made 392 hp 290torque with the stock driveshaft and clutch fan and headers obviously

    How is it making less then stock???

      From the factory they make 285hp to the crank, which would be about 230hp to the wheel, mine made about 270hp to the wheels so its more like 320hp to the crank, so actually made some slight gains just off the cam!

    Just put a 6.0 in it I made 350hp wheel hp and 450 crank just cam headers and 92mm throttle body and my is a ext cab and the guy who Dino tuned my did a 3 gear pull just fine and my drive shaft way longer and a 2 piece lol

      @@ErikRose_ Anything you can bolt to outside of engine is bolt on. If you install something internally it is not a bolt on. Cams, valves, pistons, custom machining are not bolt on.

    A good stall will help it out more than you think also. Long tubes and cold air intake will wake it up also. The 102mm intake probably working against you right now more than its helping but if you gonna turbo later on you already got that part out of the way. Sounds good tho. I'm finishing up an 03 as and fixing to start on a 2000 rcsb this week.

      rear is 305/45R17 wheel 17x10
      front is 245/65r17 wheel 17x11
      and drop is a 4/7 but the front is a little higher right now because i put a 1 inch spring spacer so the front tired wouldnt rub as much

    Screw headers, it'll help a little but not as much as everyone is saying. And why spend like 2000 on an intake and e85 setup when you could do basic bolt on and a cam and make a 1/3 more than what you're making. And the whole stock driveshaft crap is a bunch of bull. You won't make over 500 in 3rd and you could run stock driveshaft probably up to 600 with new ujoints

    Ey bro if I were you If you don’t wanna worry about Cali laws. If you got family in other states like texas Colorado or Utah register the truck there cause some states don’t smog and the cops can’t do nothing about it trust me cause I’m running Texas plates I live in Cali and cops pulled me over and they can’t do nothing about my cam and tint😂😂

    Only 260hp cammed? My 4.8L complete factory does 290hp at flywheel and 270hp at the rear wheels. I think your guy doing the dyno doesnt know what he is doing.

    id bump it up too a bigger cam, truck cams are garbage for anything other than an old man that wants to brag about his "super fast 5.3 that dusts them junky ferds all day". cam motion little chopper is my favorite grind for a daily/street 5.3 and the 108lsa will make gobs of torque

    Bro I got a 5.3 all I did was cam headers y pipe and no cats no muffler I went from 265hp to 350hp with a tune come to Texas we we’ll get you right FASTER

    Honestly you could’ve made more power if you do your exhaust right I seen you did it all weird not talking shit bro but you’ll see the difference

      Yeah I did that for temporary use until i get a better setup but I have a cutoff valve so when its open it should help with the restriction !

      @@ErikRose_ Long tube headers if you can. Short tubes make it more responsive and free up a bit of power. Long Tubes will do double the percentage gain over shorts.

      @@ErikRose_ had the exact set up you have I made 310 for a 09 NNBS 5.3 and after I put LT headers/trunion upgrade / walbro 450 pump. Man this a whole other truck now I’m making 350 to 365hp
