    Master Melvin Davis he is no joke on Bass guitar...first time I heard him play a Bass solo in the late 80s I was blown away.

      I saw him in 80/1 playing CSULB. He played an Ibanez Musician. He pulled up in his 911 and absolutely turned it out!

    This one sounds a lot like my Alembic. This fretboard wood does the difference man. Don’t get me wrong I love my BSR, maple with rosewood, it’s enough to get the sound right.

    I dont know how much wood actually affect on tone on electric bass. But it defenetly sounds BIG!

    Ken smith basses- I have to be very honest here. I had no clue about Ken Smith basses until I started spending time with bass players from the black church in the 90's. Every gospel bass player I met who owned a Ken Smith said they were "Blessed Instruments". Not making this up....

    Trickfish + Ken Smith = Tone Nirvana.

    • @etpslick100
      @etpslick100 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve been hearing a lot about Trickfish amps. Are they really that good? Can’t find ‘em in Philly.😳👍🏾

    • @jpined14
      @jpined14 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@etpslick100 I own the combo shown in the video (.5k Bullhead amp + TF112) and it’s a warmish sound that can be EQed well with frequency switches.
      It pairs well with Smith because it mellows out the glassy highs but maintains those sweet mids.

    • @etpslick100
      @etpslick100 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jpined14 Oh ok. Thanks. I have SWR redhead and Markbass amps. They’re great but looking for something a little warm and vintage type tone; not so ‘in your face’ kind. I’ll look them up. Thanks.😌👍🏾

    NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    THIS IS AWESOME BASS! BUT SHOW ME THE BASS SOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    NOT DEAF ... AND NOT SOLO IMPROVISATIONS ... BUT THE SOUND OF BASS!
    BPS - THIS IS THE BOTTOM AND THE FOUNDATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    BUT I DON'T HEAR THE BOTTOM ANYWHERE! BASS AND LOW BASS FOUNDATION!
    DO YOU UNDERSTAND???
    WHAT ARE THESE BASSISTS PLAYING??? - THESE ARE NOT BASSISTS!... BASS SHOULD BE PLAYED IN THE LOW RANGE! NOT SOLO...
