I can hardly wait for the third Emily Wilde book. I was not expecting the ending of this one to be so exciting.

I loved Map of the Otherlands so much!! Both books were 5⭐️ so far and I hope the third book will hold up unlike A Curse for True Love. I bought but haven’t read the entire series and I’m so worried because everyone seems to be disappointed by that last book 😢 I also read The Unmaking of June Farrow and thought it was amazing in a Addie LaRue sort of vibe. The one sentence towards the end had me questioning my entire understanding of the book though. It bothered me so much that I actually reached out to the author on Instagram and she clarified it for me 😅

I really loved June Farrow. The writing style works really well for me, and I love magical realism, which is how I categorize this book, probably because it is more contemporary. I also really enjoyed the mystery.

really appreciate all your reviews and the way you organize your videos. You put so much effort into describing books for us, so thank you! Also I loved Emily Wilde’s Map and agree with a curse for true love, it should’ve been a duology, that way things would be intriguing and less like we rushed through it.

TOTALLY Agree with.. A Curse for True Love
Just loved the 1st & 2nd Book but the 3rd Book was like So Many Things just made me puzzled and left unanswered

It was too messy as she was trying to set up the upcoming books/spin offs in the series…it should have been a finale first and then maybe she should’ve published a novella or something. Cannot wait for the upcoming books!! 😊

Map of the Otherlands was fantastic! You're right about how it hit the same sort of beats as the first one, so I didn't love it as much as Encyclopaedia of Faeries, but it was still tons of fun!

That is such a shame that Book 3 of Once upon a broken heart didn't pan out. I'll be going into it with two minds now. I'm hoping to read A curse for true love as well as Emily Wilde 1 and 2 this month.

I think the unmaking of June was a great book. I don’t think I was going to like it as much as I did but I can’t recommend it enough. I hope people who depend on reviews by trusted sources like yourself will still read it. Sometimes we just don’t click with a good book. (I know lots of people that have loved books I hate)

Agree with all of this. ACFTL didn’t do for me what I wanted from it. The bones of June are so great but something about it didn’t hit me the way I thought it would but overall a valiant effort with the subject. Loved Map of the Otherlands.

I had a good friend read this and not like it as much because she felt that the character development from the first book disappeared in the second, as if Emily just reverted back to herself at the beginning of the first book. Did others feel this way?

I'm so glad that I wasn't the only one underwhelmed by June Farrow. I liked the author's previous novel, but I struggled with this latest one. It just fell flat to me. I've heard other people talk about loving it, so it's obviously a matter of personal taste. It wasn't to mine. I thought A Curse for True Love was fine. Some people have really hated it. I liked it better than June Farrow, but I definitely liked Map of the Otherlands the best as well.

To me, a curse for true love was messy because Stephanie Garber tried to do to many things in one book…it was a finale and a set up for the upcoming books in the series/spin offs. She is not the only one doing this and it’s starting to get to me…

This was in my watch list and I really wish I'd seen it before picking up the Once Upon a Broken Heart Series. I didn't really like Evangeline's character. She seemed very immature and had no sense of self-preservation. She reminded me of Heihei, the chicken in Moana. Lol. I also felt like The Curse for True Love left a lot of loose ties and, not naming names, but made someone out to be more villainous than he deserved, in comparison to what other characters have done.
The series was not for me at all, and I hung in there until the end out of sheer spite.

I'm reading "Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries" and adore it. It's like a book about fae prince but for adults, opposite to young adult romantasy. The only thing is that this books triggers me every time it says something about russians - I hate that. Just several times but still make me nautious. Hope that the second book will not have more of that because I don't want it to ruin my adoration for the whole story.

I really liked the 1st Emily Wilde book, but the 2nd one isn't as good IMO. I thought the side characters (Rose and Ariadne) didn't really add anything to the story (unlike book 1). I also felt like there were a lot of convenient things happening. The biggest con is the lack of Emily/Wendell moments. I thought their relationship would be explored more on the 2nd book, but it barely touched the surface. 😭

I loved the Unmaking of June Farrow I thought it was even better than Spells Forgetting which I also enjoyed by the same author. I just read a Claire Keegan book who is highly praised and it was meh for me. Ya never know what one will connect with.

    Curse For True Love Spoilers
I was so disappointed by the third installment. I kind of wished that Apollo stayed dead in the first book. He made rather a lackluster villain. It was like Stephenie Garber didn’t know what to do with his character. I enjoyed the experience of reading this book but at the end it kind of ruined the whole series for me.
