During my time as a chief mechanic in a classic car garage , I met many upholsterers most of them couldn’t even recognize a spark plug let alone change one ! You are the exception!! Keep going Elin 😊🔧🏴
Actually I wasn't expecting such a cozy environment in there :) I always thought this heater was a joke, but actually in the mornings when the temperatures are around 10 C it is very warm inside.... I am nicely surprised
The top looks just fine and functional. I want to tell yo that by watching your videos it gave the confidence to try to recover my trim pieces on my TR3B and they turned out okay. I surprised myself. It's not professional like you but it is my car to enjoy, right! like all your videos and keep them coming.
Oh, I am so happy I helped with my videos. This is what I am trying to show. We can all fix a lot more than what we think. Many things are not so complicated and we can save, while having fun restoring our own cars instead of spending money, while someone else is having the fun
Oh, yeah! Your beast is what made me look around for a GT6. Not that I was going to buy one, but I just fell in love with them. Luckily Keith surprised me!
i have the exact same problem with the snap on my passenger side, at that same location. I've been trying various things (JB weld/larger rivets/washers behind the body). usually the rivet breaks. on my recent attempt, the rivet held but the snap ripped. I think the JB weld was too strong so the snap had no room to flex a bit. I'm going to try your screw method and hope that works. I wish the PO didn't drill out the hole so big!
I didn't pay attention to that when it was under restoration. I should have welded the hole and drilled smaller one. But this worked too. Just the screw is not stainless, but I am trying to keep her dry anyways.
i wish i knew to look for that before installing the post caps and frame. now i'm just looking for an easier solution that doesn't involve taking everything off. i'll attempt the screw today
I would redo the top completly - (if not buying an aftermarket replacement) - you already put efforts to replace the windows, now almost all corners of the top need reinforcements and the core of the material does not appear strong enough.
Yes, this is the idea. I patched this one just to be usable for the next couple of weeks before I park the car for the winter. Then will make my own. Hopefully I will have time for that.

you make it so easy and enjoyable to watch.
Thank you!
Another job well done Elin!! With the top and the heater you'll be nice and toasty warm.

Now you know why I like the GT6 so much. :) Good luck with Anna!

how do you work so fast? Lots of coffee?
Hahah, magic!
2nd !!!
get a factory hardtop
Oh, I don't like hardtops. I like the spit so much for the fact it is convertible. I use the top only when there is no other option.
