I just learned gold smithing with the intent to make my own jewelry, you almost make it seem easy when in reality, what you're doing is extremely complex. If it was any sort of easy or straightforward, you'd see many more people doing it. Thanks for sharing instead of hoarding the knowledge.
I would love to have this skill. Probably 15 years ago my "sculpture" class in highschool got a grant from the school to make silver rings (there were only 5 kids in the class) and oh wow did I make a gaudy mess of a thing. Still it was a great experience. I wish someone had told me to keep practicing Gorgeous work, as always.❤
First time I had come to learn about this technique that is just amazing!! love it....perfect for a wedding ring set since bride and groom may have same rings but different detailed design...
Deslumbrante fiquei apaixonada pelas alianças diferente vc é um profissional que faz por amor detalhista e com uma perfeição muito grande.Parabéns pelo trabalho que faz.Deus abençoe 🙌💕🇧🇷

I have that scale too, its fine for weighing big-small things but for things like gold I dont trust it and use a microgram scale, recommend you get one esp if you ever wanna make smaller combinations of alloys. like a 0.5 gram alloy, shakudo pearls for example. that scale is useless for that.
Thank you for getting the name of this technique right. I couldn't stand those idiots on you tube calling this Damascus steel. Damascus steel is formed from a natural occurring vanidium alloy iron ore using standard sword forging methods. The source of this ore was finally mined out and that was how the technique was "lost".
You started with high quality gold. Then you mixed it. I was devistated but once I saw you made gold Damascus and a perfect product. My respect is here with you 👍🙏👏
In what order did he but those plates in 4:33 ? Was it all yellow the red it didntbshow or was it red yelled yellow red white. Finish product is awesome
How many times did you have to anneal that piece of gold to get it flat in the beginning? Also how many times can you roll it thru the press until you see cracks?
If you watch other Videos on youtube on how create mokume gane Rings, you appreciate this video even more. Most of them use more equipment like special clamps and ovens and need much more material just to come up with one Ring
Looks like sand/media blasting to take the shine down to better show the swirls. If you look at the ring just before it's very hard to see the colours compared to the final reveal its more a satin finish. I'm more shocked he's not using gloves, that stuff can hurt on bare skin.

Wow - such skill - I enjoyed watching the process - I have only made very simple rings - and don’t have the wonderful tools you have !!
Very intricate. I especially liked the trick with the tweezers, like Damascus steel sort of???
It became work of art. 👏👏 Such talent and skill ✌✌
The ring is beautiful) I really want to try to do something similar)❤
Thanks for showing, do you have to heat up the silver before you flatten it in the mill?
I want to know how many times it's annealed between the press and the drilling and hammering.... etc
Wonderful! What tool are you using at 12:55 to bring out the colors? Thank you for sharing!
thats a sandblaster used to make it matte

I'm incredibly interested in that rolling machine...
you can sweat-solder the pieces together without solder

Все отлично, но смотреть без музыки, или голоса,который описывал бы происходящее на экране, скучновато!
Amazing
