For 9k, you can drill your own and still have money left over. Yes, it's not easy work, but it is rewarding. You can drill with homemade rig at least 300 feet, but it will be hard work. There are videos on this topic you can review here on YT.

You’re 100% correct. I could. It’s a matter of focus and energy though. I have a farm to run, I have a farm to build. A million tasks between them - 1/2 need to be learned the other half already learned. My father taught me that “anything you’ll only do once in 10 years - pay someone else to do it. By the time you buy the tools, screw or up a few times you’ll be in deeper than if you pay the guy who knows how. Learn to change your brakes but pay the tile guy.”
I’ve never forgotten this. I won’t hand drill another well in 10 years. But that 1/2 million tasks I still need to learn I’ll probably do weekly.

That’s in places where drilling is legal. 😢 Seems like a lot of neighborhoods you can’t do drilling, or you “own” the land but nothing under it.
