Hey guys I have a suggestion for an episode. I watched Ryan on Ron Spomer’s podcast and he touched a little bit on the startup of vortex and it would be great if you could go more in depth and maybe get the founder on for questions and answers. Love the show, keep it up.
17:38 crows will also stay just on the outside of the lines on the road for a car to drive by and then I have seen some LOOK BOTH WAYS before going back into the road to continue munching on whatever snack they had.
1) you guys need more participants for each game 2)I think the winner should choose a conservation charity of their choice for Vortex to donate a certain amount of money to. Much like the Meat Eater podcast trivia. I think that would not only be great PR but beneficial to the shooting and hunting community.
Remember when vortex podcast was about optics 😂 Teasing, love the show , i watch all the episode been so for 2 years now. The comedy, nerd, and gun equilibrium is perfectly blended into a podcast. My cup of tea :)
In a world filled with political garbage, Hollywood elite weirdos, big cities crumbling and YT overflowing with more garbage, it is refreshing to get a few wholesome laughs from you guys. I guess I’ll buy that Razor gen 3 now.
Hrmm... interesting choices of the hated cartridge portion. My first really nice rifle was a 7mm Rem Mag so I don't hate it, but I just don't see what it does over the 7mm-08 (probably my favorite rifke cartridge) or the 270 (the first centerfire rifle I shot a bunch after the 223/556) so... I see no reason for me to consider the 7mm Mag. I don't hate the 40 S&W. I've had three. Shot one of them a lot but I just never learned to shoot it as well as the the various 9mms or 1911. So yeah... good choices.
Meatball question: cartridge you love that doesn’t make sense. Mine is 7.62x54r. It’s Russian, doesn’t come in high bc projectiles, no modern rifles, we have the 30-06. But I think it’s cool.
What is your favorite shotgun subgauge and why? Also, why doesn't Vortex make an archery sight? I think it would be a cool concept for a red dot sight with multiple reticles. I don't know if that's even possible, but it would be different!
MEATBALL - your employer and your family give you a pass to hunt every day of 1 specific deer season...(archery, rifle, or muzzle loader/shotgun)what are the dates, what state, what weapon, cartridge and sighting system do you pick? For me? East Texas rifle season, first Sat in Nov - 1st Sun in Jan, my 18" AR in 6.5 Grendel with Vortex Diamondback 4-12. Why? We have pigs, coyotes, foxes and bobcats. The 6.5 Grendel won't destroy the pelts while smashing everything within the max distance we have a shot of 327 yards. Since there are pigs, it gives a chance of bonus meat while covering first and 2nd rut along with a 22 day doe season.
21:00 MEATBALL Jim is selling guns in the parking lot of Maynards... Is he sellijg out of his trenchcoat? or his trunk? Ie. You need a pistol? shotgun? rifle? I got everything you need.
My first gun was a Smith and Wesson 9mm. The old Sigma series with single stack magazine. Hands down the worst gun ever. Wouldn't feed anything except fmj and even then it would hit the feed ramp or it bound going into the chamber 70% of the time. Like brand new with less 50 rnds threw it. Still got it, can't find anyone I hate enough that id sell it to them.
#meatballofthemonth: Assume you work at Glock and the CEO one day walks into your office and tells you they need to reduce the complexity if their lineup. You are tasked with eliminating one Glock variant, which one is it?
I really thought Ryan would say “Fox”, as the animal he would not shoot. I won’t shoot foxes or any type of cat. Unless in self defense or defense others of course…..
Vortex used to sell great rugged dependable scopes.even there low dollor scopes were great. Recently ive noticed a trend of scope after scope comming into my buddies gun shop with crooked reticals and wandering zero. Yall have gutted the quality outa most of your lines. Its very apparent to people who pay attention. Shame on yall for doing exactly what most others in bis do. Build your name on quality and great customer service then gut the quality outa everything except your top tier models Its sad but after seeing what i have lately ill never steer anyone into vortex ever again. Leupold for me from here on out
60+ years of hunting and reloading and collecting and I found that same thing a couple years back after getting one on my many many gun buys at pawn shops! Always been Leupold guy when it comes to buying new!
Let's see - Carts you hate..... 40 SW 454 Casul 460 SW 500 SW 300 BLK 6.5 CM ALL WSM's everything above 7 Mag for North America, Africa rifles dont count

4:07 that “can’t mess with biology.” Got an instant like
Right, you can be trans and still have a kid. Being trans is natural.

29:20 I believe Ryan is recalling a scene from Billy Maddison. Another great Sandler classic!

...can't tell you how much I love these
I was lucky. My first golf shot went straight into the river, and I thus avoided the hobby.
Meatball: what rifle for a single-rifle African safari?

My first nice rifle was a Ruger 77 chambered in 7 rem mag. Wish I'd never sold it actually. Loved the Ruger 77 more regardless
Actually Ryan, since you were writing those “slanderous things” and not speaking them, they would actually be Libel not Slander.
New cartridge talk: 30-06 deviants. 25-06, 6.5-06, 270 win (stretch) 338-06 and others. Mostly want to hear more about Ryan’s 338-06.
Same
And I am still waiting on that .222 Rem talk...

Would you rather have a suppressor on your deer rifle (only) or REALLY nice hearing protection to use in all your hunting?
I’m watching this in my vortex podcast hoodie to the smell of charcoal and a stiff march breeze, cheers
Smallest cartridge you'd take for various game, and with what loads? At least cover deer, coyotes, and elk

Mark was on point tonight! Great show guy's
"If you find out let us know" hahaha the "master" de-baters 🤣
He is also very crafty, often bating the other contestant into a trap. You could say he is a Master-bater de-bater.
You have to give points to Ryan for mentioning Schrödinger's cat!

I do enjoy the trivia part. I enjoy that almost as much as shooting my 340 weatherby speaking of up next on 10 minute talk the 340 weatherby magnum

Happy Easter guys!
Crows are too smart for me lol. Ive tried in my youth & 20's
Would love to hear thoughts on the 360 Buck Hammer
Topic suggestion:
5mm Remington Magnum for ground game, why or why not?
Mark holds his cool well since he's always getting the shaft.
They are really tying in to their golf rangefinder to this spaghetti shootout
Hey guys, long term lurker, first time poster. If you had to take one firearm/cartridge combo to the battle of Thermopylae, what would it be? Thanks!
Marks superior athletic skills triumphs in the end…..long live mark. LOL….but you should have done one out of the sand trap too.
Meatball of the Month: Pick one legally hunt-able North American animal to pick as the ONLY meat type you could eat for the rest of your life.

From an Order of Magnitude Perspective, Mark's Guess was closer than Ryan's. ~5x Over VS ~12x Under
This is how presidents should be elected. Jimmy and his sound board.
Look forward to hearing how you all spent all your time off while you wait for season 3 to start.
Debate: does doe/cow/etc meat tasted better than the meat from the corresponding male of the species?
I was really hoping mark chose the 300 win mag for his least favorite cartridge 😂 I am relieved Ryan didn’t say 22-250 rem!
#meatballofthemonth: what is less of an unbearable abominaton: a modernized Alpha AK or a tacticool lever gun?
Golf? And you have your own course? Just for that my next scopes gonna be a Leupold!

I usually root for Ryan. But I'm now on the Mark wagon. Only because ..... "its Mark"
What red dot site would you recommend for a canik mere sft
Thought it was going to be 7.62x39 since you guys still haven't talked about it on this channel 😐
I really thought Ryan would say “Fox”, as the animal he would not shoot. I won’t shoot foxes or any type of cat. Unless in self defense or defense others of course…..
