      Hattest* ? Don't feel sorry, I'm french and I struggle with spanish. But it's easier for us to learn english, which is quite simple, than for english speakers to learn a latin language.

    Thanks very much for this video . I've now successfully changed the battery . You've explained everything clearly ... I experienced a bit of confusion / difficulty removing the battery but persisted ala your instructions by pushing in firmly with a flathead screwdriver which helped the old battery pop out . The new replacement then fitted in easily ... Thanks again , the video has been extremely helpful .

    My my Handsonic 10 is happy again! It took me about as long as your video to swap the battery. One tip I have is to be sure to reduce the torque to a minimum setting before installing the screws or screw them in by hand, so you don't damage the threads. Some folks might not think to do that and then :(

    I changed the battery leaving the DC on, wearing gloves of course, but I got the message
    "memory damaged". Reset ? OK. It was worth a try. Buy a battery diameter 20 mm.
    16 screws to remove the hood ? These guys are not joking.

    Hi Erdbeer, thanks fr the video! I have a question for you, the battery "Duracell 2032" is fine for this replacement? Can all types of 3 volts batteries be used? Thanks

    • @RoideJaneiro
      @RoideJaneiro  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not ab battery expert, but since the one I found in the handsonic as well as the one I replaced it with is labled as 2030 I am pretty confident that your duracell one will also work. Other 3 volt batteries should theoretically work as long as they provide at least as much amps as the 2030 ones. (And if you are able to connect them properly.) Lower amps may or may not work. As long as you don't use a higher voltage than 3 or connect some AC source experiments should not be harmfull to the handsonic as far as my electrical knowledge goes. But as I said: I'm not an expert. If you fry your instrument it's on you. I suggest just using one labeled 2030. :)

    • @RoideJaneiro
      @RoideJaneiro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In fact it does! It's just that because sound doesn't travel through the vacuum of space, Georgy Lucasson wasn't able to record the real thing. So he decided to overdub it with a fantasy sound design.

    awesome thank you so much for this video. I have some questions. Is it normal to get that "Memory damaged" error message after replacing the battery? If I understand correctly in order not to lose my presets just replace the battery fearing turned on the device? Is the battery the Cr2032 model?

    • @RoideJaneiro
      @RoideJaneiro  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I won't guarantee it, but as I said it should be possible to change the battery without loosing your data as long as you keep the device plugged and turned on so the memory gets powered. It is probaly also possible to backup your patches before changing the battery via sysex but I don't know how or to do it if it is possible.

  • @MatONeill

    Hey Chnucki - I didn't even know this was a thing until I turned on my HPD10 just now and almost had a heart attack. Now the question is: Do I do this now and hope for the best, or wait until after wednesday's gig and hope the battery survives until then...? Hmmm... scary either way.
    Thank you so much for walking me through this and keep up the great work :)

    • @RoideJaneiro
      @RoideJaneiro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As far as I understand it is also possible to save all your presets via midi into a sequencer as a form of backup. Search the manual for "bulk dump". I did never do this, but it should provide you with additional security. :)

    Hey, great tutorial. My handsonic 10 is not turning on. Could it be because of faulty battery?

    • @RoideJaneiro

    • @RoideJaneiro
      @RoideJaneiro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't open mine, but here's what I'd try: If you unscrew the circuitboars, you should find the buttons to be of the rubberdome kind. Look at those for any phyiscal damage. If you find any, fix them by improvisation. :) Generally also clean the rubberparts and the contacts with some cleaning alcohol. (Keep away from WD40 if it comes to circuit boards if you thought about that.) Hope that helps. :)

    Hi Chnucki,
    This looks promising to me. I have a HPD10 and the digital display is frozen with all characters, doesn’t change with input. The sounds and pads are working however, but I can only navigate blind!
    I didn’t ever see the “low battery” on the display before the issue. One day I turned it on and the display was locked and frozen. Do you think this could be a battery issue?

      Sorry. The battery is a small cylindrical cell with a diameter of 2 cm and a height of 3mm. It has to be put into the socket so the side with the engraved type specifications is up. Here is a link to the spec sheet of a compatible battery:
