    Beautiful mattes! Better than photographs. Wonderful giant simian! Love how natural and stable it walks on all fours. By the great Jim Danforth.

    Wonderful! Thanks for posting this! If only the financiers had been more agreeable...Harryhausen was so fortunate to have the backing he had for all those years...

      I never thought I would see even a sliver of Danforth's efforts for this film. As always, his breathtaking sensibility of movement, staging and complexity
      remain captivating. This is hand forged work at its finest. Digital animation
      offers pale creature characterization, as it all seems begat by an off the shelf plug-in. Please stop buying into it folks!

    Jim Danforth was also a Boss in stop-motion, I was amazed with his work in "When Dinosaurs…", this movie clip confort my opinion, his talents are great and various. I saw the wonderfull illustrations he painted and even glass matte paintings!
