Contact the company, and they will send you a Visco headset. I had mine installed at a bike shop, and afterward, I've had no wobble. I was told that newer bikes will have the headset pre-installed.
I was skeptical of the new headset being able to prevent the wobble. Those headsets AFAIK are designed for regular bikes which weigh a fraction of these heavy e-bikes. Plus, it’s not really a speed wobble; it’s a weight wobble. My biggest issue with riding is I don’t really feel stable enough on it at speed to even take one hand off to adjust a mirror or my helmet for instance.
Hard to believe the battery weight makes the front end light enough to unload front wheel. However if that is the case, how does loading the rack with the 50lb limit affect the ride/wobble?
Thanks for the comment. After I did the wobble test video, I added an additional 12 pounds to my rear rack bag with a heavy bike lock which brought the total weight up to around 22 LBS on the rear rack. The additional rear weight did cause the bike wobble easier. I haven’t tried loading the rear rack up to the 50 LB limit yet. I might try that soon just to see how it affects the bike.
On my 23 Wired cruiser pre rear battery and suspension I had wobble issues. It did not have to be induced, happened whenever I went over 15mph or so and loosened my grip/hand weight on the bars. I fixed it by adding a front bag with tools and a pump as well as tightening the headset, keeping tire pressure above 16-17psi and setting my handle bars in line with the forks. Different frame and weight bias on this model but tips worth trying. Thanks for the vid man, clearly shows what’s going on.
It's pretty easy to setup cruise control. Go to General Settings/Cruise Function/On. When the throttle is working and the speed is greater than 7KPH, long press the (-) button on the button cluster to enter cruise control and the cruise control icon will appear in the top/middle section of the display. Us the brakes or turn the throttle to disengage.
I have the new 24 freedom. I couldn't get it to wobble. My son how ever did get it to wobble. He did have to take his hands off the bars and initiate it himself. He then took the rear battery off and he couldn't get it to do it again. I absolutely love my wired freedom
I got the 2024+ Cruiser recently and it had the Visco headset already installed. The headset came so incredibly tight it was dangerous since you could not turn at all. I loosened it up a bit and it works great, although it will wobble as shown in the video with a knock to the handlebar, with the rear battery installed. It does not wobble without the rear battery. But it does not matter since I never ride without at least one hand on the handlebar so it's not an issue for me. I do like that the frame feels stiffer and safer in tight turns than either the 2023 Cruiser or the 2024 Freedom.
Sounds like you had the same experience as I did. Someone else made a comment that those (like me) who received the XR headset in the early shipment could contact Wired and they will ship out a VISCO headset for free. At the moment , I’m not sure I need to replace it. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
I have the throttle follow set to “No”. That gives me full power no matter what PAS I’m in. I did dial back the “start strength” from “0” (full power) to “2” (medium power) for a smoother take off around my neighborhood. Star strength is on a 0-3 scale. Even though it is set to “2”, you still get full power, but with a smoother start.
Inviting death to a game of Chicken is never a good idea. We called it (High speed wobble) the motorcycles back then had poor frame quality. & a Hell of an engine. Most of the time you died.
Nice video once again. Im sure that answered many questions. On a side note if you had experience with both. How is the power based assist vs speed pedal assist? Does it have more of a natural feel like torque sensor. What are your settings? Keep up the good work.
Hi Gary-The best way to describe the power based pedal assist is that it is a hybrid between a cadence sensor and a torque sensor. I changed my settings from the factory default (20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%) to PAS 1=15%, PAS 2=30%, PAS 3=50%, PAS 4=75%, PAS 5=100%. These settings are still a bit high. This bike has so much power. I’m try try 12%, 25%, 40%, 65%, 90%. Finding the sweet spot is part of the fun.
@@EnergizedZonie Ive been playing with mine too and have not found the right setup yet, but I still have to set up the suspension, and then ill go back to the throttle settings. I do get the wobble at 15.
@@12packnight81 you may be on to something with tweaking the suspension settings. I purchased a high pressure air pump for the shocks. Looking forward to adding air to front and rear shocks this weekend.
I'd probably play around with tire pressure and suspension settings for the wobble. That's probably the best looking step-thru bike on the market for sure................ RUGER
Rear battery is not needed... I'll ride my w24 for 40 miles and I can't wait to get off. It would have been nice if they offered it as a backwards compatible option.. it does show Wireds lack of engineering expertise
LOL 😂. Dude just get a steering stabilizer and problem sloved! I had the same issue with my fat tire ebike once I added a rear rack and battery. Get a stabilizer bar/steering damper and you'll be fine. You can thank me later 😌
from an engineer a bike is not designed to go this fast thewobble wobble is telling you that and this bike is illegal on our public roadways federal says and most state law says no bike over 750 watts not over 28 miph without a motorcycle license this bike is not street legal without a motor cycle lisience I am sure you have one though
ECells 5 Stars don't. The Dual Star version of the same bike won't and it has a second battery in the same place as the Cruiser. Both batteries on both bikes are identical.
I've seen a few videos on here saying there is no wobble on the ECells, but on my dual star it will wobble just like in this video if I let the handlebars go and hit a little bump or hit the handlebars. During the first week I didn't notice any wobbling, but then one day I was riding down an uneven sidewalk and it started wobbling pretty bad and it scared tf outta me. After that happened I did the wobble tests and it'll do it over and over again just like in this video. I've tried tightening a few bolts around the handlebar area, but those bolts require a certain torque spec and nothing was loose.
I have the same bike and I do not have a wobble problem because I do not let go of the handlebars. To me that just seems foolish. Actually, most of the bikes out there will wobble if you do the same exact thing to them.
I've been riding bikes with no hands for almost 30 years. I rode my Wired Cruiser 2024+ today and was scared half to death as a tiny bump in the road almost killed me with death wobble. This is not common or usual.

Appreciate the video. Lots of interest in this topic.
Thanks Mark! I’m glad it was helpful.

It can get a risky at the higher speeds.
Thank you for the reply. I appreciate your content. I hope to see more soon

Whys no one talking about cruise control? How does that work
Also why are people so mad about this? Just keep your damn hands on the handlebar

These Wired bikes are so much fun to ride! It gets me off the couch and out of the house. The additional exercise is an added bonus!

Could this ever happen if you never take your hands off the handlebars?
I have not had it happen since I keep at least 1 hand on the handlebars at all times.
One more question is throttle, always a hundred percent, or is it adjusted by your pas setting

Thanks for the suggestions. This bikes does turn a lot of heads.
I have the same bike and can not make mine wobble which makes me think its an adjustment issue
There has been some good suggestions for potential fixes in the comments for those who have an issue.
I actualy like the sound uv scewterz
Try adjusting your headset a little to make the steering stiffer to eliminate any wobble whatsoever.
Thanks for the suggestion. That may help reduce or eliminate a wobble.
