Hi Nick and Matt, I dimension to framing, but since the models are done to the exterior and interior finishes, how do you dimension accurately? It looks like you dimension to face of finish. If so, do you have a general note or detail to explain the setback to framing? For example, some framing has siding cladding, and some have stone.
The "use sun for shading" check means that when the sun is turned off, the color and the properties in the faces will still affect the model. But without the shadows appearing.
This is great. Wish it was taken with a better camera and lighting though. Deserves to be on an "Apple" type stage lol... I have Nick's book and files and he still finds the time to reply to my few emails to him. Singular greatest contributor for Architects and Designers using SKU and Layout. We only differ in using the rendering engine.
Hello, good video. I have a question, why you dont get all the scenes from the same file? I do it that way. Usually have at least 20 scenes. What is the advantage of creating the documents using multiple files? Thank you
Keeping separate files, especially for the site makes everything work much faster as you reduce the files size on the building model drastically by not including the site. For a fully detailed project I typically require over 40 scenes to capture site plans, floor plans, roof plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections and interior elevations. It's a very simple way to manage a project opposed to trying to capture all the scenes and section planes in a single file.

I LOL'd when he said "can you imagine modeling each individual stud." YES, looking forward to learning this process
i wish there was more camera on the screen rather than them in the shadows... :/
Seconded. Glue the camera to the screen for God's sake.
Wait, you can toggle multiple layers at once by selecting them all and change the visibility of one? :O I had no idea about this!
Amazing Nick sonder, From Honduras you have a Big Fan!

Loved this presentation and the book with templates. Thanks for sharing your work!
Does SKU have like an XREF of similar application?
Enjoyed the video. Gonna save my lunch money for the book and SU Pro. :) You guys are SU geniuses....
i always have the problem with updating the design, whenever the change occured i have to go through all the separate model. wish i can find help.
