I have an s23u and I am not going to be reserving an s25. The phone will be 2 years after the s25 phones launch and time has treated it like fine wine 🍷
Am considering upgrading S22U to S24U. I don't see the reason to go for S25U when they about the same besides performance "upgrades" and paying a ton more for it at launch
What innovation is there to tone down? Samsung hasn't made any significant change in the Fold since the Fold 3. Every consecutive device has been nearly identical, despite obvious room for improvement. This is fhe epitome of, "We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas."
Exactly. Samsung has been criticized constantly from the community for not doing enough to encourage upgrades each year. It's always refinement instead of innovation every year. And why does the Fold6 still have the Fold4's camera system in it (which was outdated when the Fold4 released)? The Fold is almost $2k. Insane.
And when they do make changes it's always reductive of Apple. Titanium, an ultra watch with an orange band. The Galaxy buds pro 3. Removing the headphone jack and the charger in the box.
What innovation do you want? A weighing scale feature where you put your phone on the floor and step on it? The innovation for smartphones has already plateau for years now which is why these companies are focusing on software like AI.
I hope they add back expandable storage and headphone jack. I love my A14 I bought in the last year to 6 months, great music player. More repairability, long term support, and part availability would be great.
Still surprises me how people make a big deal about incremental updates/upgrades, especially with phones. 20x videos on basically the same thing as last year with a new cover. On that note, I'm looking forward to the Samsung S35 3D virtual magic underwater breathing partially invisible Ultra...
The folds are selling less because they haven’t been innovating enough🤣 if they innovate less they will only be worse off.. They are so out of touch with the community honestly..
I honestly want to know how many of the sales are new sales or upgrades. The folds still are bad and I wonder how many people upgrade yearly cause after trade it is probably cheaper than fixing the screen. I haven’t worked wireless since the Fold V was the new one, but we had people trying to return broken folds all the time.
I wanted a Fold for myself but they are truly lacking: bad cameras, bad battery and bad format. When they make a Fold that is not so candy bar, that has great cameras and battery life, without being too thick, then they may have a point.
@ I agree, if they’d have at least released the Fold SE globally and not for an extortionate price I’d have taken it in a heartbeat. Other manufacturers are leagues ahead.. Barring the hinge, Samsung hinge is brilliant.

I left my s24 for iPhone 15. I prefer the iPhone 15. Also the colors of iPhone phones are just better even the feel in the hands it just feels premium. I’ve also had better luck with battery lasting longer . Admittedly little bit slower to charge but that’s no big deal for me.
If you just care about the phone the S24 and probably their S25 will not be beat for specs. But if you are in Apple ecosystem with their superior tablets, laptops and wearables. The iPhone turns into more than a phone, something Samsung is trying hard at but not getting too far with their own ecosystem. They didn’t even try to hide the way they copied half of Apple strategy and the Watch ultra is a straight rip off of the Apple Watch Ultra. Zero creativity. Apple may not be for everyone but at least they’re not blatantly ripping other products off.
@ specs aren’t everything when the software in my opinion from personal use using both is inferior on Samsung. I sell phones for living and have used plenty of androids and iPhone and no one can beat there software. Maybe google but there hardware is trash.
Foldables will be near sunset in the next half decade or so; declining sales, lack of interest from mainstream users, budget manufacturers already backing out, dismal market share in the same time frame other form factors had majority, they continue to increase in price. Just pointing at a recipe for extinction.
@@Themeparkanxiety Especially as they are more fragile and the inner plastic screen is unlikely to last much over 2 years. Too expensive for what they are.
They should make foldable phones every 2 years instead of yearly. Releasing $2,000 phones every year with minimal upgrades is a waste of time, energy and resources. Plus it's said that chipsets make notable improvements every 18 months.
I’m a huge tech nerd and I could afford foldables, tried a bunch. Problem is I don’t see a problem they’re trying to solve. Most of the time people end up using the front screen, which defeats the purpose and usually makes you put up with worse cameras which is a bigger dealbreaker. The crease doesn’t help. I just can’t figure out what they do better than an android or an Apple regular flagship phone and neither can’t the market cause barely anyone is buying them.
All I want is that freaking update to the app drawer for my S24 Ultra so that I can finally scroll vertically, not having to go through pages and pages of apps. Come on, Samsung, it's been a year already!
I like the smaller size too but I doubt they are going to really focus in on that model until 2028 knowing how they love to do changes during a leap year

The foldables aren't selling well because they increased the price and stopped innovating. If they made more significant improvements, it would get owners of older models to upgrade sooner. And raising the price is going to keep out more of the potential market. I went from the Fold4 to the S23 Ultra and I miss the Fold, but I said I wouldn't go back until Samsung made some big innovative changes to the device. The latest Fold6 looks basically the same as the Fold4 still and even still uses the same cameras. If you're making me pay almost 2 grand, the Fold should have the flagship camera module from the current gen Galaxy Ultra device. It seems like Samsung isn't innovating anywhere anymore. I just want them to give me a reason to upgrade from my S23 Ultra. Some AI features are nice (e.g. photo editing and circle to search) but these are not device sellers to me and it almost seems like they're using it as an excuse not to implement more features. I want a better camera and other improvements. I don't think I can give up the 10x zoom lens of my S23 and I was pissed when Samsung went to 5x last year.
Yeah I'm buying a $2,000 phone just isn't very practical. Especially when they have durability issues and are made out of plastic screens and only get a 12-month warranty. Yeah you can buy insurance but bam that's another couple hundred bucks. And even then if it breaks you got to pay a deductible. . By the time you're done with your premiums and deductible you could just buy a refurb at the same price
@michaelcorcoran8768 I'd prefer cheaper but I could do $1800 for a foldable if they fixed the hinge issues and it also had all the same benefits you get with the Ultra model Galaxy phones - best in class camera, better battery, etc.
I did sign up to reserve one. I'm just undecided on the base (need better updates) or the ulta. I do have to say though I'm intrigued by the SLIM because I don't LOVE bigger phones; however a smaller footprint with no SPen and the camera's of the ultra is kind of compelling to me. Regarding rounded vs square - honestly, my samsung S20 was my absolute favorite feel in the hand with the rounded sides and I never had an issue with displays.
I want more sharp and boxy. These smooth, curves always slips through palms, like bars of soap. Sharp, flat, slab, brick, 90 degree corners on screens. ❤
I have a fold 4. It's amazing, but there are major issues: Battery life and the Aspect Ratio. If they fix this, it's a 10/10, especially due to the software experience.
Yep they should make one with like a chip from 2 years ago or something. 8g2ish. Like the OnePlus 12R but for foldables. Get a chip that's a year or two old. That's what they're doing now with the FE series but they really screwed up because they started using the 8g1/exynos. Stick with something from the TSMC foundry but....
"might get conservative..." They really haven't done anything bold with the foldable since they added stylus support and even then they didn't add it to the front screen
@@1mezion Stop it. That sensor can’t deter their awful computational photography they use to output those pics. Not to mention the actual phone isn’t good. Overheated like a toaster oven.
Samsung should make the 5-7yr software support actually usefull to us buyers instead of releasing identical phones each year with a higer price tag and little to know improvement over the last one. Heck every company needs to do the same.
they need to keep improving the fold . $2700.00 AUD. the f5 was my first foldable. and was not getting the f6. but being square and cove display a little wader and great displays i upgraded. i still use the cover display. sometimes it can be a pain to type on.but i am used to it. but i have dropped it more than i dropped the f5. sometimes to wide to slim to square makes them harder to hold and open.
Does anyone know if it would be worth upgrading to the S25 Ultra from the S22 Ultra? I really want to get a Samung Fold but i'm not interested in the Fold 7, I'm more interested in next year's Fold 8 since it might have a wider outer display.
I d like to get the s25 plus. Always bought the note, then the ultras but I'm tired of the boxy design. I had the 21ultra and that was my most loved phone ever.
I’ll be looking forward to your coverage of the S25 Ultra but as an iPhone user, I’ll not likely get one, as I’m kinda too deep into the Apple ecosystem and Android as a whole is lacking an iMovie competitor, etc.
I am still waiting for Davincie Resolve on Samsung Dex, or any Dex update to use on my S23 Ultra and maybe convicne me to upgrade because there are 0 apps so far that reuire an upgrade.
I am reserving an s25. Don’t know whether it will be the base or the ultra. That will depend on whether or not they improve the base this year. While the plus got improvements last year, making it difficult to choose between it and the ultra, the plus looked bland to me. As for the ultra, let’s see what they do for trade-ins because I don’t need an s pen and the oneplus 13 is also knocking at my door.
I'm still using my fantastic Galaxy Note 10+. It was so far ahead of it's time back in 2019. Nothing else until the Galaxy $24 offered enough improvements to make me consider changing. Even the S24 and many extra offers at sales time, couldn't convince me to part with AU$2500. I do hold out some hope for the Galaxy S25 to convince me to buy one. Faster, brighter etc. Just maybe...😊 ps. I don't like the S25 rounded corners, as a Note owner square corners are the way to go 😂
Phone prices already reached a max limit, myself and most people will refuse to pay more than 1,500 USD for a fing phone, which is crazy enough. So, ofc devices more expensive than that are not really selling. And should not be selling.
Flat sides for the phones. The utilitarian design keeps it feeling like a tool and I appreciate that. Rounded for wearables is a must though. Just saying.
12gb ram on base S25 should have been there. If Google thinks that phones need minimum 12GB ram to run AI properly, then how come Samsung is giving 8GB only? Does not make sense and this makes this phone risky but as future AI may not work well on it.
With affordable Samsung is not innovating. If you buy the budget phones you're getting the same or minor upgrade in your equipment going to the foldables. If you have the flagship phones and almost every feature your downgrading to go to a new design and that is part of the problem.
Samsung: *makes mega minor changes to Fold Market: *not buying it Samsung: D: imma make even LESS changes Sometimes i swear sammy's memeing at this point, or have so much money up their noses that they dont care.
I like my S24U and all ... but honestly still debating ordering a OnePlus 13 before the early discounts go away. Or I could just save my money and carry on. It's not like I'm taxing the 24 Ultra on any given day. That 80W charging on the OP13 is attractive though ...
You know what I think the cool thing for you to do would be is to maybe a couple times a year talk about the tech that you are currently wearing slash using I think that'd be great idea not just to say oh look at me this is what I'm wearing but you're always such a laid-back and you seem like a really honest kind of guy you don't seem like you're kind of a a sponsored shell like some other TH-camrs are I think it would be a great idea for you to give your feedback on some of the stuff that you're using or doing over the span of a couple months like for example oh you're wearing a Galaxy Ring oh what do you think about it you know what if been depositives and negatives of it same thing with a watch and a phone and I think maybe you know three or four times a year doing something like that would be really cool and it would just give people some of an idea of what's going on and your personal feelings with a product maybe they do or maybe they don't match with other people's just to make them feel more confident in what they're buying
Samsung hasn't done enough to improve their battery, thus I don't see it worth the super high price tag. Once they're no longer afraid of diving into battery tech, then I'll buy an SxxU
$2000 for a 3 fold? i would not even pay that if it had 6 folds! it's just the folds you are paying for.. translate that in to laptop's and you would get MUCH beter laptop for that price.
Eh I'm over the fold craze...stuck with my fold 4 since it came out since subsequent releases look identical. No reason to upgrade. I will upgrade to the s25 ultra just to get rid of the fold.
right now I have an Samsung Galaxy A13 5G and Im gonna be upgrading to the base model S25. Im so ready to finally have a better phone, and one thats smaller to. The A13 is like 6.7 inches, basically as big as the Ultra and it sucks having a huge phone, so a smaller one is gonna be so great. Im also gonna buy the Buds3 Pro and a wireless charging pad with the phone since Ill get a bunch of money off so itll be cheaper. I also wanna buy the Book5 Pro 14" if it has specs that interest me, I just wanna have the full ecosystem, might even get myself a Galaxy Watch
So when AI takes over, what jobs will humans have? Also, for the fold "issues" we have asked Samsung for the ultra cameras and the pen slot since it came out and they refuse to add them....
I honestly think that we just should not create agi. Yes it'll be great at spotting cancers early as previous ai has done and speed up science research but we will have to do something about the whole job security fiasco 😢
Im so excited for the S25 Ultra or Slim Im curious to finally see them in the flesh Hopefully the slim is just as powerful and comes in the same colors, otherwise I might just stick with the Ultra Fingers still crossed that the rumored Blue color isn't Samsung Shop exclusive!
Totally bored with Samsung's phones. They've released the same phones for 4 years in a row also 5090 isn't much faster than 4090 - at least not as much faster the 4090 was vs 3090
The going back to curved sides and the argument that it's "more ergonomic" is hilarious after just trumpeting the merits of flat sides and additionally hilarious when they originally started curved in the 1st place and went flat after all of their competitors which were already flat sided. The "droid" generation androids. Imagine being Sony's Xperia team watching all of this through the last 2 decades 🤣🤣 Everyone else just chasing each other in circles.
There is a happy medium where you can make a boxy design with slightly curved back for ergonomics. I honestly think the ergonomics are better with curved sides although they're probably are some durability benefits with the boxy design.
Yeah I think it's because they're so concerned about Apple's dominant market share in the US. 90% of high school students in the US use an iPhone. And that was a study from 2018 it's probably a college students and basically anyone under 30 at this point. So they're more worried about market share in the US rather than profit margins .. I mean this is me speculating but that's my guess
I don't like the S25 Ultra design, the curves makes it generic. The square S24 Ultra was distinguished from the S24 and S24+, but the S25 Ultra is simply a larger S25/25+.
Nope, I’ll be keeping my iPhone 16 Pro Max. I literally don’t see a reason to get an S25 ultra. If they give us back the true 10 X optical zoom, add 120fps 4K video recording and give us a real 1 inch sensor then we’ll talk, no wait Samsung just said they’ll pull back on the innovation🤦🏽
Honestly if they made an S25 ultra in base model size with the s pen I am in. I don't want a giant phone but I do want all the bells and whistles... Like if they did with the Note 10 but not the massive downgrade on the specs. Might go with a flip next time for ergonomics

Said no one ever
Lmao what a thing to care about
Apple innovatived by tilting the camera again!
Coming from an s22u, I'll gladly upgrade to the S25Ultra. I want one UI 7 out of the box :)
I need to see that Slim before I make my decision on which one to get...
If the case is magenetic then how'll the spen work?
Good question. We’ll see
Samsung should make the 5-7yr software support actually usefull to us buyers instead of releasing identical phones each year with a higer price tag and little to know improvement over the last one.
Give us a small ultra Sammy
Duuude! The dream right there
Does anyone know if it would be worth upgrading to the S25 Ultra from the S22 Ultra? I really want to get a Samung Fold but i'm not interested in the Fold 7, I'm more interested in next year's Fold 8 since it might have a wider outer display.
iPhone 13 mini and S25 Ultra will be the perfect small/large duo
I d like to get the s25 plus. Always bought the note, then the ultras but I'm tired of the boxy design. I had the 21ultra and that was my most loved phone ever.
Best Galaxy ever after the ceramic backed S10+ and Note 10 for me.
The problem is even the lower tier models still have the boxy design ever since the s23 I think.
I’ll be looking forward to your coverage of the S25 Ultra but as an iPhone user, I’ll not likely get one, as I’m kinda too deep into the Apple ecosystem and Android as a whole is lacking an iMovie competitor, etc.
Thank you Jaime.
Thank you!
I am still waiting for Davincie Resolve on Samsung Dex, or any Dex update to use on my S23 Ultra and maybe convicne me to upgrade because there are 0 apps so far that reuire an upgrade.
Yeah. 6 is my first fold. It got old really quickly. Ready for the 22 to go back to the ultra. Too expensive
For iPhone, the 11 series was my favorite, ergo wise.
Have the fold 6 and i realized late that I’m not a folding phone fan 😢 because of this I’m currently using an iPhone 😢 so s25u is my next phone 😊
I’m strongly considering the one plus. It’s hard to not be tempted by what it’s offering.
I find foldables always a prototype. 2 SEPARATE pieces of glass folding together like surface phone is WAY more logical
LG did that.
Just maybe...😊
ps.
Aggressive on the software experience, unpacked will be about software
Flat sides for the phones. The utilitarian design keeps it feeling like a tool and I appreciate that. Rounded for wearables is a must though. Just saying.
Interested in the smallest model.
I will buy a foldable as soon as the price comes down. TVs, tablets, and computers are all far cheaper options for the larger screen experience.
Every other week its either "samsung fails to impress with s25 series" or "Samsung amazing new features for s25"
Amazing new features...? 😂😂
@parshakamarsh you don't get the joke....
Samsung: *makes mega minor changes to Fold
Market: *not buying it
Samsung: D: imma make even LESS changes
Sometimes i swear sammy's memeing at this point, or have so much money up their noses that they dont care.
I like my S24U and all ... but honestly still debating ordering a OnePlus 13 before the early discounts go away. Or I could just save my money and carry on. It's not like I'm taxing the 24 Ultra on any given day. That 80W charging on the OP13 is attractive though ...
That OnePlus 13 is 🔥. Might be worth a try
Si cierras los ojos, puedes ver en tu mente a El Gallo Claudio leyendo noticias.
Excepto que yo salí más apuesto 😉🤣
Nice video
Thank you!
put the dang flagship cameras in the fold every year and I'll never buy another phone ever....
Amen
3:43 "would i trust open ai?"
No, no i wouldn't.
Love your opinion
The iPhone X was the perfect phone. 5.8" and curved, with 3D Touch
4:49 flat is the best design.
Visually I like it. Not a dan of holding them when they're too large, but love your opinion
Why bother to upgrade phones every year or even 2 years? That is beyond wasteful.
Agreed. Problem is how it’s still a practice
Its not wasteful, I upgrade every year and my old one gose on Ebay so someone else can use it.
I have 23ultra and will be looking for new 25ultra
Samsung hasn't done enough to improve their battery, thus I don't see it worth the super high price tag. Once they're no longer afraid of diving into battery tech, then I'll buy an SxxU
$2000 for a 3 fold? i would not even pay that if it had 6 folds! it's just the folds you are paying for.. translate that in to laptop's and you would get MUCH beter laptop for that price.
The fold 6 wasn't far off at 1899
Eh I'm over the fold craze...stuck with my fold 4 since it came out since subsequent releases look identical. No reason to upgrade. I will upgrade to the s25 ultra just to get rid of the fold.
AGI in 2025? I'll believe it when I see it.
Color me skeptical.
Same
right now I have an Samsung Galaxy A13 5G and Im gonna be upgrading to the base model S25.
That sounds like a great upgrade
Give us Galaxy Watch 8 Classic 🥳
Yasss
Same size battery and the same charging speeds. Super aggressive
Haha that’s not all people care about
So when AI takes over, what jobs will humans have? Also, for the fold "issues" we have asked Samsung for the ultra cameras and the pen slot since it came out and they refuse to add them....
I honestly think that we just should not create agi. Yes it'll be great at spotting cancers early as previous ai has done and speed up science research but we will have to do something about the whole job security fiasco 😢
Jaime I'm getting the s25 ultra that's the one I'm going to get an order I mean and my wife s 25 Plus
Sounds like a good mix
Man phone news is so boring, it's faster, it has curves. Wow.
lol.. then why torture yourself?
Samsung should innovate on normal foldables,
The durability trade offs with tri-folds aren't worth it for most and the price!!!
Yeah I feel the same
Im so excited for the S25 Ultra or Slim
Im curious to finally see them in the flesh
Hopefully the slim is just as powerful and comes in the same colors, otherwise I might just stick with the Ultra
Fingers still crossed that the rumored Blue color isn't Samsung Shop exclusive!
Same. Can’t wait!
Planning to upgrade to the Galaxy S25 from an iPhone 13
Wow that sounds like a good move. That iPhone 13 was legendary, thoufh
there not selling because of the price how has 2k for a phone make them affordable and watch them sell
2 videos in a row I've seen from this channel are titled Galaxt S25-something and don't say jack about Samsung devices til over halfway through.
Welcome to TechBriefing. I discuss multiple topics. Titles have a character limit. I play with what I can 🤷🏻♂️
Timestaps would be appreciated
What's so funny is that you can't find the s24 ultra in 1TB size anywhere lol and they gonna make an s25 ultra lol absurd and cheap
The 1tb models allways get discontinued early, it was the same last year with the 1tb S23U.
My 1tb s24u will be going on Ebay so I can get the 25u.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing
Not a Samsung girl but I know of a few family members who are watching this closely! 😅
🤣🤣
Totally bored with Samsung's phones. They've released the same phones for 4 years in a row
also 5090 isn't much faster than 4090 - at least not as much faster the 4090 was vs 3090
You are so right 👍, they released the same phones 📱 each year, but you have to buy a different case all the time 😕😞 keeping my s23ultra.
Samsung is doing the opposite about the trade-ins deals in europe. They give you like 300 euros for a previous gen ultra phone. It's really bad.
Buddy i got 300 euro trade in for a broken oneplus 8 pro.
@@michaelcorcoran8768difference lies in importtax. North america has a tax exemption for products under 900 usd. Europe taxes 21% after 12 cents.
Can't wa🎉it for the ultra
Same
Meh, save 400$ and get a One Plus 13
Yup. Totally
Ultra but I think about Slim 🤷🏻
Yeah that slim has me very interested
I don't like the S25 Ultra design, the curves makes it generic. The square S24 Ultra was distinguished from the S24 and S24+, but the S25 Ultra is simply a larger S25/25+.
Interesting that you find it generic but appreciate your opinion
I have S21 Ultra. Ang I might upgrade to Vivo X200 Pro.
I reserved the Ultra!!
Yasss! Congrats!!
Honestly if they made an S25 ultra in base model size with the s pen I am in. I don't want a giant phone but I do want all the bells and whistles... Like if they did with the Note 10 but not the massive downgrade on the specs. Might go with a flip next time for ergonomics
That would be nice. Samsung needs to stop gatekeeping features. Even Apple and Google figured that out with the iPhone 16 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro.
