Tomatillo salsa is something I never experienced because I was a picky eater as a kid. When I started working in a kitchen, I began broadening my horizons and thinking about cooking in a more artistic light.
Arnie! Thank you! This is sooo good. I recently went on a low-carb diet and needed something for my meat and this salsa verde is pretty low-carb plus tastes amazing. My recipe is 7 tomatillos, 2 serranos, 3 jalapenos, 3 cloves of garlic, half a bunch of cilantro and OG to taste. I am not brave enough to try the only chili pepper version. Top TH-cam channel. Keep the recipes coming brother.
That looks good. My dad used to make Chile de molcajete but I don't remember how he did it. It wasn't green. It has Chile serrano and sometimes Chile del Monte. I miss my dad.
I love char in my salsa so I always char them in a dry pan and then add water to boil with that same recipe…you’re making us all salivate out here in gueritoville, USA
Quick and perfect! When I have a little more time, I like to roast the garlic and half of the tomatillos and chilis first. Another layer of flavor but only doing half keeps the freshness as well.
I just made this for the first time tonight! I learned that I should blacken all those ingredients in a VERY HOT cast iron for no more than 5 or 6 min, and wait for everything to cool before adding it to a blender full of cilantro and salt! I'll do my best to get better at making this :)
White gal from Houston,Tx and I make a similar salsa verde! I typically roast my peppers and garlic in the oven but I might try it this way next time. I’ll probably add serranos because I like it hot!
@ArnieTex I ended up smoking them today, along with some garlic and onions, and made the salsa as described, and it turned out delicious! I will try the original way next time. Thank you for sharing the recipe!
I've been trying to figure out how to make carne asada with a red sauce and used to eat it on my cartel frames and since I left California I haven't been able to find anybody to make it as good as it's is in California. Man wish i still lived in riverside!!
Tomatillos are exceedingly rare in Australia, but my local supermarket sells canned tomatillos in brine. Will be suitable for a salsa verde, and do you still need to boil them?
But, Arnie, my salsa Verde always comes out "gloopy" because the tomatillos. The restaurant near me makes a nice one with a nice consistency and a tangy zing. How would I do that?
Both of them are correct. All comes down to preference. I do both depending on what I'm making them for. You can even use your grill and grill the ingredients.
I roast mine too..sometimes I do 2 Roman tomatoes 1 tomatillo 1 cerrano some 4 small round dried chilipin 1dried arbol chile 1garlic some slices of onion.with some oil and roast.. occasionally turn them..then blend with fresh cilantro and add salt to taste add water too..maybe 1/2 to 3/4 cup..
@@cooliejerk Carnitas would be good. Get some lard, melt it in a pan, and simmer it for a few hours. TH-cam would be a good place to start, there's bound to be plenty of easy to follow guides (probably even from this channel!)
That’s what I’m talking about Arnie!❤

Do you add the peppers and tomatillos once the water is boiling? Or do you start them cold and let them heat to a boil? Love your content. Thanks.
Love your vids my friend keep em coming

Thank you! My ADD can't handle long videos. Thanks for a simple, straight to the point video!!
Oh Yeah!! Yumm yumm
Way to deliver it 👍
What are your thoughts on smoking the tomatillos and jalapeños vs boiling?
You will get different flavors from the tomatillos and jalapenos, but I would definitely try smoking them next time.
@ArnieTex I ended up smoking them today, along with some garlic and onions, and made the salsa as described, and it turned out delicious! I will try the original way next time. Thank you for sharing the recipe!

i only use serrano now because most of the time jalapenos have to heat anymore unless home grow. great recipe been looking for this exact one.
Right! Jalepenos are more like bell peppers now. I wonder why. Thought I was the only one that noticed this.
@@Herbie11so true. Jalapeño are no longer hot as they used to be.
Lol you guys are nuts! When I make pico I only use half of a jalapeño and without seeds, feels very spicy but also depends on the peppers
It’s true, jalapeños got all 🏳️🌈
Nothing but Serranos or Chile de árbol
💪🤠🤜
Yeah man....I've noticed that too
❤thank you for your video Smiley1449 from Richmond California

Sweet!!!
Thats my kind of sauce
Gracias un buen dia
I love the taste of jalapeños. My bowels can’t handle it, but it’s so good.
I do this but add 2 avocados as well and it makes it super creamy
Would a little lime juice work or does that take away from the earthiness?
Would fire roasting be a good alternative to boiling? Also, what if we used roasted cloves of garlic too (instead of garlic seasoning) ?
I tried this verde sauce recipe and my wife wanted to marry me again that day 😂 thanks bro
Thank you
Goes perfect with carnitas
❤❤❤❤
Where do you get the OG stuff?
I like mine with green hatch peppers in it.
Yum!
With salsa verde "If you ain't crying, you ain't dinning". MORE JALAPENOS MORE SERRANOS COME-ON-WITHIT.
How long does this last in the fridge? Would it make sense to add a splash of white vinegar?
Do they have to be boiled ? What about fresh
How do you thickin it up if it's too watery??
Hahaha! I like that he gives the gringo-level heat as well as the real deal heat.
My question is do you boil or do you saute the ingredients?
Instead of boiling can i char them?
i see at the store there’s roasted salsa verde, what part in this recipe do i need to change in order to make roasted salsa verde?
Can you use this for pork chili verde
I been tricked before with the ‘3 while jalepenos’. Never again. 🔥 lol😅
I love tomatillos. I eat them like apples
The hotter the better!!! Whhhaaaaat!!😂😂
I’m making some right now as I text!…..😏booooyyyy!
🤤🤤
But, Arnie, my salsa Verde always comes out "gloopy" because the tomatillos. The restaurant near me makes a nice one with a nice consistency and a tangy zing. How would I do that?
Tiny bit of olive oil.......
So is the traditional way boiling or roasting the ingredients? I’ve seen both
Both of them are correct. All comes down to preference. I do both depending on what I'm making them for. You can even use your grill and grill the ingredients.
Enjoying your post, but for some reason the volume you are using is too low
Can you roast the vegetables instead of boiling them before you blend them? Feel like the flavor would be better
Yes, it's very good like that and is recommended if using with meat like chicken or pork

Arnie is such a chad
Is this a salsa I can use for chili Verde?
Yes, this is
@@hewhoplugwalks now I have to learn how to cook the pork😢

Uncle Roger: just add MSG, it makes shit gooder
Can i b invited to a cookout? Lmao
Question: is the cilantro too strong by adding a whole head of it in there?
Wheres the invite to the cookout Arnie?
Gracias paisano yo soy Regia también arriba Monterrey, muchas bendiciones
I prefer mine with red Roma tomatoes. The bomb!
I use serranos and add lime to my salsa verde
Sometimes I fry it
Or roast it besides boiling
Every time I make green salsa it always comes out sour no matter how I roast or boil the tomatillos. How do I fix this issue?
Gotta add serano peppers
Please comment all the ingredients here. Thank you 😊
this dude knows what hes talking about
