    I started with the BSC100S, after about 4 years as I was riding further, I stepped up to the 630 so I could put the direction heading on the display, I occasionally got lost and had to use google maps to get home.

    • @TheIndianCyclist
      @TheIndianCyclist  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nobert, no - I don't believe it will end the ride. I think the device will go to sleep (so the screen blanks out, device seems to go off) - happened to me once during an extra-long lunch break. When you turn it back on again, it will be ready to resume your ride. You could then end the ride manually.

    Hi. Nice review. I already have a bike computer: the BC500 from Decathlon, and after 3 years it still is working well. However, the head unit is kinda coming off😢
    My question is, would my speed sensor work with the igpsport bike computer?

    • @TheIndianCyclist
      @TheIndianCyclist  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tried looking at Decathlon's site, but couldn't figure out what sensor you're using. If it's a wireless Ant+/Bluetooth sensor, it should work - but if not, you might as well bite the bullet and get a new sensor too (it will work with all future bike computers as well)

  • @kmuchorowski

    Why do you need a speed sensor if you may measure speed via GPS? Is it because of better accuracy or something else?

    • @TheIndianCyclist
      @TheIndianCyclist  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Better accuracy on the speed data and more immediate reactions to changes in speed would be the primary benefits of the speed sensor. Beyond that, GPS often goes wonky, or there are regions in which GPS coverage is poor, like in between very tall buildings, mountains, etc. - the speed sensor would help in such cases.

    Good day.
    Please, can the activity be copied to the computer via the USB port from the BSC100S cycle computer,
    like from type iGS50E?
    When I connect the iGS50E via the usb port, it appears on my computer as an external disk.
    Then I click on the ACTIVITIES folder and I can copy my ride to my computer.
    Is it also possible with BSC100S?
    Or it only goes through the STRAVA application.

      Milan, interesting question, I can check this in a week when I get back home ... never thought of this sort of data retrieval. The bsc100s will synch with the igpsport app which in turn synchs with Strava (this is optional). So you can download the activity from the app, or even from their website on a computer. Is this something that would work for you? Definitely more convenient!

      Actually, I just had the same problem last night. I've had the unit for a few weeks and it has works without any issues, however, I had a few days off and used it last night only to loose my activity. Apparently the website is under construction. I highly recommend logging in and out of the app before you try it again, it seems to have fixed mine again.
      I also have it linked to Strava, and it uploads without any issues at all.
      I was disappointed, but to be honest, I've had this happen to me more than once when using Strava, so these things happen I guess. I've just been trying to search for a way to see if It stores rides in memory/history so that I can upload it. I don't really care about the ride I lost, it was only a small one, but I do care about my 8hr rides, so I want to see if I can get to the bottom of it now. Maybe it's a one off glitch.

    • @TheIndianCyclist
      @TheIndianCyclist  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Interesting! I'm guessing the calorie expenditure was massively different due to the elevation discrepancies. Did the start / end elevation match? To see which is correct, looking at the route on a contour / terrain map might help - that will tell you approximately what the elevation at a point should be, and then you can see which device was more accurate. Appreciate the notes, Lane. Can you share more about the sensors? Do they simply cut off, providing no data at all - or is the data they provide incorrect? In my experience, I haven't noticed any problems - in fact I'm now using them even after having switched back to my Wahoo bike computer, but of course, this isn't a very long period of time, still just 2-3 months of light use. Would be really interested in your experience, thanks!

      @@TheIndianCyclist The sensors just stop communicating with the computer. I switched the sensors to whatever was cheapest Chinese brands, have had no issues since. Go figure.

      Thanks, at least that's a very obvious problem (works or does not). I have experienced it with other sensors (sometimes fixed with a battery replacement) but not with these so far, in about 30 to 40 hours of activity so far

      @@TheIndianCyclist I have been using IGPSport since 2013, been quite happy with the computers. I have tried battery replacement on the sensors, one issue I have is the tech support, or lack there of. I have been quite happy with the cheap sensors, they last about 5 years. I find this reasonable considering the price.
      Great channel, find your videos very informative.

    this thing is junk because it doesn't show average lap power.... so stupid, can't use for training....

      I can't speak to this as I haven't got a power meter to test this with. I am curious though - if you're using something as expensive as a power meter, why are you using an entry-level device like this?

    After my second Garmin Edge 520 died unexpectedly I decided to try something different - the Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt instead of the Garmin 530. Boy! I'm glad I did. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxXZCtB-wGdHVTBSz8RswePK5vllHNi06N The display on the Wahoo Bolt is much easier to read. I like the configuration of the display more (up to 7 items visible on page 1 without scrolling and the first item chosen is larger characters than the next 3 rows that have pairs of items (still very readable). I also like the configurable item selections. The Bolt synced with my Garmin ANT+ Speed sensors on both bikes easily so no additional investment was required there. While the rated battery life is a couple hours less than the Garmin 520/530, I easily get a weeks worth of 1+ hour rides before recharging (and it's never really low on charge). At the end of a ride syncing to the Wahoo app, Strava, and Apple Health app is painless.

    I bought a BCS100S. It wouldn't show me the driving speed (oo) while the other functions were ok. At one point he showed me and it worked ok. New ride the same problem, but now it doesn't show at all, while the GPS indicator flashes non-stop. Can I help?
