The only person that won't benefit from this is Guitar George. He already knows all the chords.
He doesn't want to make it cry or sing.
They said an old guitar is all he can afford
He’s just a Rythm player though
Let’s get Harry to come over after work. He don’t mine
@@jameswright1058He's got a daytime job. He's doing all right.
I just learned the A shape barre chords and man that feels like such an achievement personally! Wanted to share 🙂
This changed the way I play guitar
You’ve got a bright future
Great information Sean, Great video , Love your videos, they are easy to understand. Thanks for sharing.
Great lesson. So many famous songs make use of that key of E with open strings move: "Melissa", "I Shall Be Released" and "Who Knows Where The Time Goes" immediately spring to mind.
So glad I watched this before learning another guitar chord.
Disaster averted
Came for the death whistle, stayed for the chords.
Yes!!! I've been just winging things like this and didn't even know if that was ok to do. Thank you Sean!
that martin sounds greattttttt!
Good stuff Sean! Thanks.
I've tried this and what I found out is that things can start sounding a bit muddy if those alternate sounding "chords" get strummed too much or too quickly. It's not that they don't work or sound good, but ya gotta be smart about when to use them. I've found that creating a mix of open, barre, and these alternates when playing in E works best. In other words, learn them all. Good lesson, as usual. And good luck with the death whistle promotion! 🙂
Thanks for another great lesson! Greatly appreciated!!
The best thing about E major.
One of the first songs I ever wrote used these open chords. It turned out sounding very nostalgic/wistful. Love the sound. (If you’re curious, it’s on my channel, a song called On the Way.) Thanks for spreading the geetar knowledge around.
Really enjoyed this one. Also tried using D-shape and G-shape in the same way. Maybe the E-shape is the best, but the other ones also are interesting, especially the G-shape.
Thanks for the lesson Sean!!! Your videos have been a life saver for me when it comes to mastering new guitar techniques. ✌
thats pretty cool, i learned some shit today
Glad to hear it!
Thank you Sean ... Very informative
Sweet Melissa.
I was thinking exactly the same thing! 👍👍

Same here
Your doing great Sean . Thanks for this 😎 Uk
The techniques here can be found in Who Knows Where The Time Goes. It’s what makes the song so pretty and melodic, in my opinion.
You’re playing Melissa with those first chords
Go Kings Go!
Aces again. TY.
Hey Sean, when you play, you’re A shape bar chord, which strings are you actually holding down with your pinky because it seems like you’re pinky knuckle is up in the air. I always have a Lotta problems with that A shaped bar chord. Are use my ring finger should I use my pinky, exactly which strings should I hold down and focus on etc?
Olmec from "Legends of the Hidden Temple" called. He wants his Death Whistle back.
I hope you didn’t conjure up any demons with the death whistle lol I used to hate key of E but not anymore. Thanks
That's a MAYAN Death Whistle bro
So, we meet again.
Hey, nice hairstyle!
...Oh, that`s a hat.
I thought you were a duck.
Well, don`t get your feathers ruffled.
Why do I feel like I`m at summer camp?
Hey, your couch is ablaze!
A Curse, beholds the one who sounds the Death Whistle..
ig next chord is all bar chords
Never bother with clickbait titles like this.
Sean come on man you’re making it hard and you’re becoming unwatchable. I like you but quit messing with us please.
Great lesson. I’m gonna write down these two patterns before I forget them. I saw another TH-cam video on movable open chords but I didn’t write it down and can’t remember. How about doing a video on other movable open chords?
You can move the open c chord to diff frets as I remember.
Ok, I have tried everything I can think of. I even threw myself up as a marketing genius when you made your dodgy move with the Taylor, but Dude, you win. I have not learned more from a TH-cam guitar teacher other than the man that started me out and I cling to out of respect. We all don’t have Aztec death whistler companies beating down our door for sponsorships so coin is tight. Is there a way to preview your patreon site prior to drawing blood? To be honest, you got me dude, but a glimpse into what you have would be another huge marketing move for you. AND, if that way exists, double my point, cause it is too damn hard to figure out. Rule 1. make it easy for people to give you their money!
What was the dodgy Taylor move?
Interesting, Works because of the guitar tuning, but as you said you could use the same positions with a capo to get to other keys, until you run out of room on the neck to get to the 6 cord LOL.
