I remembered I used to hang out with and slept under my malay friend's stilt kampong houses without a care, when Mahathir came into politics, he was the one who split up the hearts of all Malaysian people by all his harping about individual race. He was the one that brain-washed the Malaysian people. He was the one that split Malaysia up. We who were born in the 50s, have experience the real peace and harmony among races when we were kids.

ON MALAYSIA’S LANGKAWI ISLAND, LOCAL folklore tells the tale of Mahsuri, a maiden who lived there in the late 18th century. The story goes that she was engaged to a warrior, Wan Darus, who left Langkawi for battle, and in his absence, Mahsuri befriended a wandering minstrel. Upon returning from battle, Wan Darus accused Mahsuri of infidelity, something she vehemently denied.
Mahsuri was tied to a tree for days while maintaining her innocence, but none of the islanders believed her. On the day of her execution, they tried many ways of killing her but nothing would puncture her skin. She finally told them to kill her with her father’s ceremonial keris, a type of dagger. When they stabbed her, white blood flowed from Mahsuri’s wound, signifying her innocence.
With her final dying breath, Mahsuri cursed the island of Langkawi for seven generations. Following her death, the island suffered many hardships, leading the local people to believe in her curse. There is a museum built around her grave, and a room portraying the story in life-size scenes.

He is half indian but pro bumiputera because race politics works, he is also not stupid, he knows alot about how Statecraft works. He is a fox. In fact I will say Malaysia is lucky to have had him navigate them for so long. When I read history and I come across some thing he said, I know he told the truth to the public about certain things whether they cared to listen. The problem is not him, Malaysia is a full of natural resources and malay people are highly intuitive beings. They can sniff out rats just from certain actions. So I am convinced he was the right man for the job when he was elected. They got the right one in no matter how people feel. There are somethings about governance of a country that remain on the shoulders of the person who heads that country. Those at the helm will need to know what to do, he did. Be fair to his legacy. I disagree that Malay people are lazy. They are not. They try to achieve work life balance with family life and they have been doing this before it was trending or studied to achieve good mental health. Alot of lies have been told about Malay people, that they are lazy etc. It is actually not all true. I once visited my taman negara guides grandmothers kampung house and it was clean! That nenek kept her house clean and tidy so do not believe everything you hear that is negative about Malay people.

@@bobazman you are entitled to your opinion as I am entitled to mine. Lets agree to disagree shall we afterall we are not widgets made in a factory but people who use their brain and heart. EQ is just as important as IQ. If you look at singapore as the jilted lover who understood upon being divorced and abandoned decided looking good was the best revenge you will understand why you feel the way you feel. Malaysia was the first country I visited as a child because my father was born there, we travelled by car for 6 hours to get to his hometown. People there had a wealth that was intangible, the malays call it senang diri, it was to relax and take things easy, I think it prevented alot of mental health issues for society back then. In singaporean society they talk abt having the 5 Cs - cash, credit card, condo, country club membership, car- as a precursor to success but no one talks about the peace of mind you get from just taking time to relax and Malaysia may not be the place back then where money rules and it may make people jealous or envious but it has alot of plus points too. Of course things can always be improved and it is never too late for a country as big and rich as Malaysia to slowly get up the pinnacle if its envisioned mountain of visual success but you know what my father, decided to be buried with his mother in malaysia. That I think speaks volumes. Sometimes a place can look visually poor but produce people who are not deceived by their own potential. There are many things to do in malaysia, many places to visit and when I visited India I was shocked at how parts of it reminded me of Malaysia. If you see yourself as a country that missed opportunities you will never see that maybe sometimes taking a slower road may lead you to a better form of success. In Singapore our education system is unforgiving and even then there is no guarantees against perception bias and chinese whispers so be happy you are in a place where a little kindness goes a long way. Malaysia is rich in flora and fauna. You may take the scenic route but life is about the journey not the destination. The vast expanse of greenery, mountains and highways that lead to various destinations should be a visual treat in and of itself. I wish there were no toll booths but okay it is for security and job creation purposes. The fact that you have so much may be the reason you feel the way you do. He labels Malays as lazy because he wants non-Malays to believe that only they are the hard-working ones and that Malays are cheating them. Mahathir also hopes Malays will believe there is something is wrong with their race but if they listen to him, he will show them the way. Over the years, this approach has worked well for him. We, the rakyat, are the losers. We can’t think straight when race or religion crops up. The winners are our politicians who have learnt much from Mahathir. Know your history and place.
Natives were enjoying a good relaxed life in the past. Easy food, good weather, no competition, no rush, no need to exert or excel, everything was nice and peaceful, life was good.
Then come the greedy ones, displaced and disappointed in their original countries, on arrival during early days they behave very well, they know their place, but once their wings grew stronger they started to gobble up everything like termites. The immigrants are naturally driven people always striving with a heightened instinct for survival as they come from a poverty- stricken and deprived background and experience. They are hungry and hence stock up and hoard as much as they can. Their past shape their minds.
Who brought under-table dealings and bribery and gambling and corruption culture over here. Now everyone got into these dirty bad habits. Now businesses of all kinds are involved in all sorts of shady deals and malpractices.
The bigger the business the bigger the frauds.
In politics you need huge money to hold and glue the party members from all over the states together. What do you expect politicians to do? Where to get the money? Donations from members? Fat chance. Donations from individuals? Come on! Politicians squeezed money from the corrupt tycoons whom they make rich. How else?
This goes on everywhere in the world. Donations from rich tycoons keeps a political party in power who in turn ensure these sycophantic business kakitocracy people stay rich for their mutual benefit and interests. They scratch each other’s back. How else?
If proven they stole money, that’s a different thing. If proven then lock them up. Why keep hundreds of bags and shoes and watches and gold and diamonds. Such people must be investigated.
Look at the leadership. Some are clean, in behavior, spiritually inclined, do not indulge in womanizing and drinking and partying and other weird indulgences, they are the best of the lot. In short they are morally upright. Within the team of course there are scoundrels. Trust the ones with the better behavior. The leader should control their crooks as best he could. But it’s never easy.
He criticizes people openly, no hold barred, about their characteristics, traits, uppity egoism and arrogance, discriminatory bias habits. Isn’t he calling a spade a spade. Do you think he is crazy. No, somebody got to tell them to their faces.
These people when they are together they say hurtful things about the natives behind the latter’s back. They criticize non-stop, making fun and laughing away at the natives. Calling them stupid and behind time etc.. Don’t deny this is not happening.
Leaders sons become rich all over the world. So what! What do you expect? Jail the father? Prove the corruption and lock them up if enough evidence of their stealing or unfair deals are uncovered.
Open your eyes and analyze with an open mind. Don’t be like an ostrich head buried in the sand or be like a frog in the well. Or let your emotions control you. As politicians your most important responsibility is to maintain peace and harmony not play dirty politics without any common sense.
Study the Red Indians, Māoris, Aborigines in Australia, and natives in many countries throughout the globe. What sincere assistance or genuine concern have been given to them by the migrants who later became the dominant numbers and control the economy. At most only lip service.
This is the way of the world today. How do you change the situation?
Find me one honest man today. Maybe one in 10,000, maybe. Greed and ego have got in the way. Many are spiritually bankrupt and that makes it worst.
It’s not easy to manage a country in this time and age.
Do not say things any old how and hurt the feelings of the natives. Very bad mistake. Dangerous consequences could result. Everyone is smart in their own unique way. Accept this fact. Don’t think arrogantly you are the smartest on the face of the earth. Open your eyes widely and observe. Be considerate and kind and know your place, only then you could live happily and be trouble-free.
