    I agree 100%!! Very disappointed with what they call a “re-designed” watch!

    Rolex has turned from the symbol of accuracy & reliability, to the symbol of obnoxious & show-off attitude. It just disgusts me, every AD is selling thru the back door to grey mkt dealers. They’re dangling an immaginary carrot to the average joe & jane.

      wow Josh the way you said it is just on point! Agreed 100%!

      @@romanmoruz ….As a Rolex owner I’m disgusted with these A.D’s that try up selling a watch you don’t want to curry favour to be able to purchase a Sports Model. The entire Rolex phenomenon is as corrupted as the vaccination mandates. I seriously thinking after forty years of ownership getting out of these status symbols of corruption and selling my over priced possessions.

    Well said bro! I learned of a new watch word "destro" with the crown on the left side side for lefty watch wearers with green GMT release 👎

    Artificial scarcity is prevalent throughout the industry. It's not a "Rolex" thing. It seems Grand Seiko has a new limited edition every time a GS designer steps outside and sees a tree, grass, ice or snow. The MoonSwatch marketing campaign is blatantly about limiting distribution to drive artificial scarcity. Blancpain only makes the 40mm Fifty Fathoms in small batches that are instantly sold out. Patek never intended to supply the market with enough Nautilus models to meet demand. Ming's entire brand strategy is to make customers jump when they say jump or lose out forever. Omega has finally weaned itself off of limited editions, instead calling them non-limited number, limited production models, like the latest Snoopy that only the few, luckiest Canadians in Vancouver will ever see. Even Citizen has it's new Godzilla limited edition in 500 pieces. Think about that... a deliberate artificial scarcity of Citizen watches.
    I agree. Just build the damn watches. Yet blatant and deliberate artificial scarcity campaigns are the new normal in the watch industry. It's not just Rolex.

    We need more people to be as woke as this man. Props to you buddy. I got the money now to buy Rolex at retail price (even at current market price for the OP), but now I think I'll buy 2 tudors or 1 tudor and 1 omega. Rolex is overpriced lmao

      Hey thank you so much!
      If i had your money now - I would definitely get a Tudor and an Omega!

    I really like your video, but for me you don’t understand the Rolex perspective, they don’t need to change too much, because there are amazing, a lot of people want, how you can say they don’t listen the taste of people if you have to wait for having one?! It means they really appreciated…

    • @romanmoruz
      @romanmoruz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, people don't appreciate it. more people buy rolex for status and flex and to make a profit on it rather then appreciate the product and brand.

    I know you didn't wear that Tudor cap by accident 😉because Tudor of today is what the old Rolex used to be: The attainable luxury tool watch.
    Rolex snobs like to say Tudor is the "poor man's Rolex". Seems to me the opposite is true these days. Rolex is more like the "overpriced Tudor". You're paying for hype and status. Neither of those things interest me. Actually, they're a huge turnoff. I would love to own a Rolex because of their timeless designs (well, their older variants and not so much the "look at me!" Maxi Case era) and my appreciation of their horological history and innovation. I would never buy one to "flex" or show off. That's lame. Whenever I see someone wearing a Rolex, I have to question whether that person actually likes watches or they simply like "status". Whenever I see someone wearing a Tudor, I don't think, "That guy only bought it because he couldn't afford a Rolex." What I think is, "That's a watch guy right there."
    Also, don't get me started on the hideous angular crown guards most Rolexes have. Honestly, the ones on the Air King are not that bad but still unnecessary. The ones on the Daytona however make no sense. The pushers will take hits before the guards do.

    • @romanmoruz
      @romanmoruz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      wow so well said! so true man I question the same thing when I see someone wearing a Rolex, are they a true watch enthusiast or just a flexer.
      In terms of the Tudor and Rolex and the analogy you made with Tudor being what Rolex once was, is a really good way to put it.
      Thanks for taking the time! I enjoyed reading your comment.

      @@romanmoruz My pleasure! Happy to help the algorithm. I've been checking out your older videos👍

  • @LDGod
    @LDGod ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Lol your videos are so contradictory….
    #1 any serious watch aficionado would know Rolex is about evolution NOT revolution, just look at the vintage market…single line subs,double line, red line so many examples…that’s just what Rolex does, the smallest change that makes that watch model unique for its run and over time changes the model into something great. I’ll predict right now that 50years from now those maxi case subs that so many people hated are gonna be highly collectable and sod after.
    #2 supply and demand, you don’t think Rolex knows exactly what they are doing…if they flood the market so everyone can just go into any AD and buy that watch they’ve always wanted it kinda removes the exclusivity and value of the product. Just look at any other luxury brand, Hermes,LV, Ferrari… it’s called Veblen goods look it up!
    #3 You can’t ignore the history of Rolex whether you like them or not, the contributions they have made to the watch industry have to be respected and appreciate…but that’s just my opinion.
    #4 and lastly I don’t know if I would be posting online that if ever an AD offered you a watch you would flip it? I mean wouldn’t be hard for someone to find your videos 🤷🏻‍♂️ just a thought,you might not like Rolex now but maybe one day?
    You kinda come off as a guy that is more pissed off because he can’t buy or get a Rolex right now so you decided to hate on them, if you are I recommend watching your video about building a relationship with AD’s haha I hate to say it but that’s part of the fun in watch collecting,the hunt. Took me time to get all my models but they all come with a great story and memories!
