I don’t think Petz leaves. He’s just now coming into his own and would benefit by staying a coordinator another year or two like Ben Johnson soon will be doing. Stranger things have happened though - congrats to Drew for garnering interest too.
That Dortch TD play call was great. Presnap motion tricked the DB and open up an easy completion. I'm kind of disappointed we haven't seen more playcalling like we did the final 2 weeks of the season. Still need to do something other than runs up the middle on every 1st down though...
Bears fan here, it will be McCarthy, Doug Pederson or Brian Flores. The owners always choose a cheap coach, usually a “yes man” or a “character” guy. Even if he doesn’t know modern football. The bears will fumble this hire, they have not managed to pick the right head coach for 20 years. Matt Eberflus couldn’t even manage to call a timeout with 30 seconds left, as we saw on Thanksgiving. He is definitely the “character guy” archetype
Wow, so 1st full season for Kyler and Drew together since Kyler recovering from his injury and some fans are disheartened (to say the least). He (I'm talking about Kyler but can apply to both) is under contract and our team have plenty of areas of need. Why "cut bait" and create another need. It won't cost us any more to ride out this contract until either we have a better option available or fewer areas of need. P.S. i dont think anyone was preaching playoffs or bust before the season started so to be outraged at missing the playoffs seems disingenuous
That’s because Jonny is a very disingenuous person sir. Unfortunately, the rest of the cast has learned that poor behavior from him. Jonny is the only person near the team who’s uncertain about K1’s future with this team. JG and the rest of the team has done nothing but support K1 since they arrived . What Jonny doesn’t understand is that JG & Monty’s careers are tied to K1’s, that decision was made the day they decided to ride with him when they took this job. Getting rid of K1 at this point is tantamount to career suicide since they’re not getting more time to groom a new rookie qb if they move of him.
If Petzing leaves I would want to go for Lincoln Riley if he is fired from USC. Kyler won a heisman with him and had a lot of success with him. While he hasn’t had the most success with usc, I think he can make something happen as an OC for Kyler.
