FIRST TIME Using Auto Steer: Seeding my Hayfield - Testing the Sveaverken F100 Autosteer System

- You hear the phrase "autosteer" and you might think of a Tesla . . . however Tractor autosteer is actually much more complex!
I managed to INSTALL the Sveaverken Auto Steer system on my New Holland Tractor, but DID IT WORK?
After playing around with it all summer and running several tests, I FINALLY managed to get it set up to SEED my hayfield! And Honestly, I was quite surprised at the results!
But WILL my field actually be seeded well enough to grow for 2024?

As a software engineer myself the software wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Yes, lots of room for improvement around user experience but I was expecting much worse. It must be based on google's android operating system as I saw the "g" google logo in the keyboard interface where it also provides auto suggestions as you type. I'm surprised there's no integration with google maps where you get a satellite view of your actual field as a view option.
I've heard some awful things about WBSS and really I thought it handled very similar to the RTK. I didn't have any complaints on that :)

Great job Suzanne. Let the manufacturer know about the glitches. Its the only way they know. Pretty cool with the drone you can see any spots that you missed. Thanks for the video. I always look forward for the next one.

I cannot imagine running big acres without autosteer. It saves so much toll on your body not having to look all around you and pull the steering wheel back straight!
Did you say, "Dead nuts perfect"? Cool. Reminds of when my 11 year old daughter asked me what "Balls deep" means. LOL
As an older gentleman I don't like the sound of"dead nuts" unless your referring to almonds

You would probably get along a lot better just turning by hand on your end rows and then re-engaging the steering again once you're closer to your next line. Those u turn functions on the cheaper auto steer systems aren't super reliable.
I love your new nails. they look just like my friend lavanda, who is the cashier over at Dollar General. I think you should grow them out longer and more beautiful. it would probably increase your subscriber and viewership if you.

Have you cut hay with the auto steer?
I have not, mostly because ours is a crank out, so each time you crank it in or out you have to re-program it into the system because the distances change :(
What does the local area supplier for seeder cost per acre? I watched another U Tuber, and just so much per acre.
The seeder runs $120 to rent for the first 10 acres and another $10 for every acre after that. But this is also a small seeder too!
Stoney Ridge Farmer has rented one over the past years. He could probably buy one that fits one of his many tractors. There are many wide cast types for fertilizer, I wonder if you could set one up to scatter a light load of seed. I have a family friend who is still in milk production, on the Eastside of Ingham County, and he has had to use planes to seed the wheat fields. I guess it must be cheaper.
Is this technology AI if it is it will take over your life and do away traditional jobs .
Noooo, it's not AI, it's a run program. It doesn't adapt or improvise. It's more like a computer coding ;)
