  • Hey everyone, thank you for joining us for our first ever Cardinals Therapy Session. In this episode we will be venting about frustrations with Jordan Walkers handling with the recent call-up, the teams seemingly free-fall in the standings during a tough stretch of baseball when we need to be trending in the opposite direction, along with the Front Office & Coaches role in this whole mess. We briefly look ahead to the future to try and figure out if this will be a new norm for a while or if there is a bright future on the horizon.

I couldn't agree more RJ, with the handling of Walker in his first 3 games back with the club. He should've started all 3 games against Cincinnati. Sure he went 0 for, in his first game back but that first plate appearance was pretty good in that he drew a walk laying off pitches that was his downfall earlier this season.

    Welcome back!
The way this organization has handled Jordan Walker makes my blood boil. I do worry it could ruin Walker's development if they continue to do this back and forth with him long term. At some point I say let the kid just flat out play and prove himself.
Here's a suggestion to take the pressure off him: I know this won't happen, but it makes sense (to me) to let Goldy sit more often and have Walker show off his abilities at his natural position of 1st base. Still give him time in OF of course, but also at 1B too to spell Goldy for a time. Analytics tell a tale, but it doesn't inform the whole picture. Just let the kid play his heart out for the rest of the season.

It'll take more than a week to turn this season around. D-backs are 20-5, Padres are 19-4, Braves are 11-14 (with 2 separate 6 game losing streaks) and the Cardinals are 10-15 all since the all-star break. Also Giants are 14-12 and the Mets are 13-12 since the break so I believe that it needs to be a 3 week stretch where they get hot. Also the Braves just got Michael Harris II back.

Trade the young man for some proven players with time left on their contracts they should be able to get good value out of him in the off season. He needs to get out of this dysfunctional system.
