Cards Talk: Too Little Too Late? Will Goldy Be Extended? What Does The Future Rotation Look Like?
In this episode, we are gonna cover 3 main topics.
Too Little Too Late? These past few series were expected to be the nail on the coffin of the Cardinals season but they've continued to be consistently inconsistent and didn't drop any of those series to playoff teams. Problem is the losses that piled up to bad teams may be too much for them to overcome especially with how everyone ahead of them is playing
Will Goldy Be Extended? We talk about whether or not we would personally like to see Goldy extended as well as if he is what that looks like.
What Does The Future Rotation Look Like? With 4 men already on the books for next years rotation, two with club options, and multiple prospects knocking on the door, we discuss what the rotation looks like next season and how the team may try to move pieces around internally or via trade.

What I think has been really weird is the Cardinals record with Contreras on the IL? That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
Totally agree that both Lynn and Gibson should not have their opinions picked up. I believe that they have enough with McGreevy, Matthews, Hence, Graceffo, Kloffenstein, Robberse and Bedell in the minors.(I'm really high on Matthews more than McGreevy but both could make the team out of Spring Training) They would only need 2 of the ones in the minors to replace Lynn and Gibson but if they felt it necessary to have one of them, my vote would be Gibson as I have felt more comfortable with him over Lynn. That's my 2 cents worth and I realize that my opinion isn't worth anything to the Cardinals front office, lol. I almost forgot to give my 2 cents on Goldschmidt. Offer a 2 year, base 12 mil with incentives to make up to 20 mil.
Choke-Tember is your teams new name 😂😂
lol okay 😂
Great job fellas
Welcome back! The way this organization has handled Jordan Walker makes my blood boil. I do worry it could ruin Walker's development if they continue to do this back and forth with him long term. At some point I say let the kid just flat out play and prove himself. Here's a suggestion to take the pressure off him: I know this won't happen, but it makes sense (to me) to let Goldy sit more often and have Walker show off his abilities at his natural position of 1st base. Still give him time in OF of course, but also at 1B too to spell Goldy for a time. Analytics tell a tale, but it doesn't inform the whole picture. Just let the kid play his heart out for the rest of the season.
It'll take more than a week to turn this season around. D-backs are 20-5, Padres are 19-4, Braves are 11-14 (with 2 separate 6 game losing streaks) and the Cardinals are 10-15 all since the all-star break. Also Giants are 14-12 and the Mets are 13-12 since the break so I believe that it needs to be a 3 week stretch where they get hot. Also the Braves just got Michael Harris II back.
Trade the young man for some proven players with time left on their contracts they should be able to get good value out of him in the off season. He needs to get out of this dysfunctional system.
I couldn't agree more RJ, with the handling of Walker in his first 3 games back with the club. He should've started all 3 games against Cincinnati. Sure he went 0 for, in his first game back but that first plate appearance was pretty good in that he drew a walk laying off pitches that was his downfall earlier this season.
Both the pitcher and Joey are Jays now 😂
Rey or ray which name is
Game audio would have been better
Yeah but they don’t let you use the game audio
It's really satisfying to finally hear someone agreeing with my stance that Rooker doesn't fit well for team except for the right handed power bat.
I don't like all the glaze that Elly gets but I also don't agree that his play that allowed the Cardinals to score the run in game 2 a "bone head" play. If anything it was the CFer that should've took charge and caught the ball but then again maybe it was on their coaching staff having the CFer playing too deep. If Elly doesn't catch the ball does it drop for a hit? Another thing that I'd like to mention is that I couldn't agree more with the statement that if you put the ball in play good things will happen, a strikeout would get you nothing.
If you watch closely you’ll see there’s a delay between him catching the ball and the realization siani is gonna run. I think CFer could’ve taken it but if your SS is chasing the ball like that with his head up and calling for it u gotta try to avoid any collision too. Its something Elly needs to learn to let center take that cuz like u said he has forward momentum and can make a better play on the ball and subsequent throw
Agreed that Elly needs to let others make the plays and then again the CFer needs to take charge. TBH once it looked like Elly was going to catch it, I was thinking that Siani is going to score.
I wish the team picked that hat instead of the one they chose.
Absolutely, the fact the arch is relegated to a patch and alternate cap for a jersey meant to represent the city is disappointing to me ~Trev
@@BirdsOnABlueNote Absolutely. The jersey was a letdown too.
The Cardinals are tied with Tampa Bay for the most save opportunities this season at this time
We're kind of almost expecting the great defense from Siani in center but now he's starting to get some hits which makes him even more valuable
Go Cubs
Boo this man, boo! 😂
That's using your feet! Hacky sack baseball!

I just read that the Cardinals have moved up in the MLB power rankings (I know that it really doesn't mean anything) to 13th from 15th last week. Let's hope that with Contreras coming back, they keep trending upwards!
Ngl I don’t bother with power rankings for baseball ever…real flavor of the week stuff 😅 ~Trev
Y'all "knocked it out of the park" with this episode. Great job!
Thank you 🙏
It just sounds different coming off his bat!! 😮💨👏🏼👏🏼
That one guy jump over the railing for that ball 😭🙏
That kid can play. He's hitting over 300 in about 65 appearances.
May be a cards fan but I’m also a fan of the game; always gotta tip my cap and call out hustle plays like this. ~Trev
Nice and more to come 😅
Throw placement was outta sight.
*chefs kiss*
Gambling and should be banned for life. Oh yeah it was his translator. Hahahah lies.
bro it was investigated by the damn FBI they could give af who he is, if he was guilty he would’ve been found guilty.
Yeah gotta agree here, the fbi don’t give af who it is. If they could’ve pinned it on Ohtani they would’ve so gotta believe he’s just a super trusting or oblivious person who happens to be really really good at baseball 😅
@@aagjv2k614 our current FBI? Yeah ok. They have earned our trust. For sure. ;-)
Show time!
What are Zach’s credentials again? He likes to disparage people for their opinions on BR because they aren’t his opinions.
Zack is our prospect guy; lives in Springfield and goes to the games so gets to talk with players coaches and others down on the farm so he has solid insight into what’s going on there and follows the rest of our minor league affiliates thoroughly. Obviously a big part of that is having a good understanding of the game Are you new to sports media? Dozens of programs over the past couple decades have been dedicated to calling out foolish takes from fans and even experts. Its the only reason bayless has a job, so ppl can trash an expert 😂 If you can back up your argument with facts that’s all that should matter to you as there are many varying opinions in this game. ~Trev
The bat flip 💀💀🐐
We needed that so badly…if that game goes on any longer and I’m not sure we come out of there with a W ~Trev
Beautiful accuracy. Catcher basically fell over into the runner with the ball. Just… beautiful.
Everything about it was textbook…catches on the run at the right spot, makes use of a crow hop and throws a dart back so his catcher just falls over as u so perfectly put it
Dee Gordon got the jets too but that was a rocket
Can’t fault him for testing DC there but it was a line drive and he executed the throw to as about perfect as u can coach
@@BirdsOnABlueNotewhy does the line drive part matter? Can't leave 3rd until he catches it. Do I not know something?
It’s also Nick Gordon btw
@jonathonlatimer9957 it’s Nick Gordon btw
The line drive matters because it’s easier to catch, transfer+crow hop, and throw on one than a pop fly where u also have to bring the ball down from above your head
Cannon
Gunned down on a play with basically zero room for error ~Trev
Worst mock ever
Lmao okay buddy 😂🤣
Congratulations Ryan!
Hoping he sees this soon lol
And posts pictures for all of us to see
Yes! I really wanna know.
No way Montreal passes on Lindstrom. A big center is what they need not another small player who did nothing in the playoffs.
Never know, we’ll see what happens in a couple weeks
Good Videos Guys, I do Not See Yakemchuk going 7 to Ottawa, if Parekh is gone they will take BPA like Dickinson, Buium Iginla & Lindstrom were available i see Ottawa taking all those guys Above Yakemchuk. Ottawa does not Draft by Position in the 1st round
Thanks the insight, love it!
NIce vid guys! Habs have been adamant about getting a big forward, itll be either Lindstrom Iggy jr or Senecke.
Do you think they may try and trade up or they’ll get their guy where they are at?
@@BirdsOnABlueNote I think the only guy they might pay the price to move up for is Dmidov if he's there at 4. Other than that they;ll either grab the guy they like best at 5 or maybe try to find a trade partner around 9-10. Maybe Flames will be willing to move up and grab Tij. Then Habs grab whoever is left at forward after the run on D starts.
One run games so far this season 10-9, could be better but still it's better than last season
Viva el birdos is awful
Disagree on that. While you may not like all their stuff they have a couple guys on staff who are phenomenal. Kareem and Blake to be exact.
Hawks are gonna suck forever? Wanna bet?
Absolutely 😂 -RJ (But realistically probably not) but as blues fans we wouldn’t mind lol. Though the rivalry is better when we’re both good.
Hey, how do take your account off private? I'm actually not sure what mine is set on, really only set up account to be able to comment on YT, haha! I don't have a TH-cam channel where I post videos if that makes sense.

Agree with Roycroft doing better than expected and wouldn't mind seeing him in a more prominent role.
If Kitt continues to struggle I don’t see this being unrealistic in the future.
This aged fairly well with Roycroft getting his first W today and how about Kittredge getting the save
I don't agree with bringing the walls in because I believe it would help the other teams more than the Cardinals, just my opinion though.
Fun one, only pick I totally disagree with is beckett sennecke. He’s been a late riser, and in your mock I see him going 11th to buffalo. They don’t need any more LD and they do need RW so I think he would be a really good fit there… there has even been talk of sennecke going 5th overall to the habs
Good call! Beckett def has been rising of late so you could easily be right that he comes off a lot earlier than we had when we wrote this
Congrats on reaching 100 subs!!!
🎉 gracias!
I thought that slick DP with Gorman flipping it with his glove was when Crawford was playing SS wasn't it?
May have been Crawford. I know Gorman was part of it. But going solely off memory-RJ
It really was a great play!
