It went into production because singular people inside the company thought it was good making an entire series about a character they haven't even SET UP yet (for the political brownie points they thought they were going to score with it). Also, the studio has been making shows about characters NOBODY/BARELY ANYONE even KNOWS for years with ZERO interest in ACTUALLY building out the universe to make the introduction of such characters make sense - where the hell have you been?
And yet, it seems to be all about you? I don't understand your framing? If it WASN'T made for the people who have been supporting the comics for decades and who have been asking for the comics to be made into live-action for almost as long, WHO EXACTLY WAS IT MADE FOR? Surely not the people who have never read the comics, don't give a damn that it doesn't fit, and who has to sit through hours of terrible storytelling thinking it's the best stories ever told on screen?
