I would argue every figure that came out in this wave years ago was great (quality wise). Usually they balance the budget over the entirety of the wave. But considering this was the first wave with photo real, I think they chose to take a loss and put extra into every figure. More accessories, more pant, quality plastic and attention to detail. This is without a doubt the best black series figure and I’m not even a rex super fan. I grabbed 3 of them a few years ago when everyone was finding them at Ross. Got all 3 for $30. And as far as the single articulation goes, I would say for the majority of figures I like it. However for the clones, I think it looks terrible. This is the best clone mold and just makes sense for the elbow and knee pads to use the double joint and be hard plastic. Being a separate piece just doesn’t work well.
I got this figure when it went down to £60 on Amazon about 2 years ago. (When I first got into the line) I’m glad I did as well because I haven’t seen it at a price like that since…
so funny story i lost my Captain rex figure so i decided to get the bad batch one and since i love making customs i modded it so it would be a revenge of the sith style rex and it looks great and then not even a week ago i found my old rex and now he is a commander ponds
@@joshuarojas1512 yeah for rex I gave him a bly style pauldron and added more battle damage and the pin stripes that the hot toys figure has And then for ponds I removed the rex markings and painted the reddish brown and emptied a phase one helmet and put it on
Any news when Hasbro is re releasing this I have it on preorder from BBTS and they have no updates for about a year now. I did see that sellers had canceled orders but I wanted to know if you heard any updates
Personally I think the Rex mold is the best mold out of all the clone releases. Though thr new 2020 and 2023 mold have better OVERALL articulation, the original clone mold is superior in terms of look. The proportion on the old mold were far mor accurate compared to the new one. Though the new clone molds have better articulation, I think the Rex mold is the best because of its articulation and overall accuracy. I'd love to see all the clone commanders and the basic clones like thr Phase 1 and 501st on the Rex body. But I totally fine if people like the new mold. I just like the Rex mold better.
59 Rex is a great figure but it still would make my top 20 in the black series of all time now in the year 2023,some of the other clones are rubbish looking or meh.. great vid keep up the great work

That figure is like meh,the helmet looks so off & an ok sculpt but terrible articulation,the chin thing is a bit weird,but it is ok but not great,would not even touch my top 10 black series line up but it is in the 30 or 40's on my list,great retrospective review, keep up the good work

It´s criminal that Hasbro does not re-release Rex in the new package with the new improved Clone Trooper body.
I hated paying 40$ back in 2020 for Rex but I’m so happy to have him in my collection.

It is such a good figure😢 I wish I had it. I am still waiting for the re-release that was delayed. It will look good with my Arc Trooper Echo.
I really love rex's figure not becuase is Rex but the figure is highly articulated and can go againts modern figures

I highly doubt they ever will. All they do is archive figs that have been released literally a year ago. Archive Bo Katan is stupid asf.

I would use either matte spray or matte modge podge to make it look matte.
