Here is the story behind the scenes: "An hour before departure, I sit down and prepare to decide how to organize my harvest. How to make two days in Marseille a little creative project taking into account my constraints and my desires.
Answer the question: "When I'm already months behind on personal projects, it's non-stop racing, but a trip like this is a rare opportunity that I want to keep track of, more that just a few photos in a drawer, how to do without adding to the delay? Without adding to the mountain of stress and frustration? "
Beginning of response: make the downstream work as simple as possible. In other words: pre-chew. For me that already means feeling what weighs and what excites. Choose what excites.
So the big device no. I take something that fits in my pocket. But since the story will not be at the center and the image will have a big role, I still want a minimum of quality. The Canon g7x should do the trick. No images shaking in all directions. Beautiful framing, either fixed or well controlled in their movements.
I imagine, in Marseille, a collection of moving photographs. Successive shots give glimpses of the atmosphere, with an emphasis on the composition of the image. At the beginning and at the end, me, and Claire, for brief moments. In the train. Fixed shot (I took daddy's hanging foot). For the movements, a few seconds, me stopped, or the device put down and us who pass.
Everything that will already be done will already be done. Ideally, I would like to go home and just have to put the shots one behind the other, the sentences underneath, choose a music and period. Just a souvenir video of our weekend in Marseille.
The story of an artist who never has as much time as he would like to create, who needs to go through with each of his projects, who is far behind in his productions, who cannot yet refrain from adding a project on top of the others on hold, and which suddenly wants to make sure that it is as light as possible, as easily and as quickly as possible. So no photos in raw file, no shooting at all costs, the measure, the intention, the care.
Do not take the images halfway. Be sure of my shot. This is the first time I've done it like this. "
I didn't stick to it too badly. Nothing for the next few weeks except Claire and catching up on my delay. And of course the constraints: work and cleaning. Otherwise absolute bubble. Vital. Excellent pretext for a short poetic film

Petit mot pour tout le monde: en prévision ces prochaines semaines, une suite de vidéo que je traiterai du mieux que je peux, mais sans doute un peu moins abouties dans les détails. J'ai pris un retard phénoménal pendant cette année qui fut remplie de nouveautés, et engrangé beaucoup d'images qui attendent d'être racontées. Mon besoin de me décharger de cet excès au plus vite rencontre mon envie de partager des objets soignés - et je vais devoir trouver un équilibre entre ces deux nécessités personnelles. J'aurais aimé passer 4 heures sur celle-ci, et finalement je suis autour de la vingtaine, pour vous donner une idée du travail investi. J'espère que vous en tolérerez les résultats sans abandonner et que votre curiosité restera captivée ! 😬
