Nice video. I do most of my reading on my Scribe. I have a Boox Palma for on-the-go. I picked up a Libra color for annotating books for reviews and book club discussions. The ability to write on the books is a game-changer.
Thanks so much for watching and thanks for understanding the power of multiple devices haha. Literally every device has a purpose. Now I feel like I need the Boox Palma🤔 yes writing on the book on the Libra vs creating a note on the Scribe is a game changer!
Thank you very much. Your review is really honest and helps a lot. I wish you success
Thanks so much for watching and the kind compliment. Which device do you have?
@@ravenclawreads3177 Thank you for your reply. I recently bought the Kindle Paperwhite, I prefer physical books but due to health problems with my shoulders I could no longer hold a paper book for a long time given the weight. With the Kindle, you really lack the ability to use a stylus to annotate directly on the ebook and the colors too. I thought about buying an iPad mini to read and annotate with colors but I read in some forums that blue light tires the eyes enormously. For this reason I hesitate between keeping the Kindle or buying this Kobo Color, but according to your precious review I think that being right in the Amazon ecosystem the change may not be easy.
Bought the Kobo color some weeks ago and love it. Love how you can annotate and write on the text. I've had a kobo before (kobo h20) and have had a kindle. My first e-reader was a kindle. Since we don't have kindle Unlimited in my country and can't use libby/overdrive on kindle, but can use it on kobo, I've become more fond of kobo. I think both Kindle and Kobo is great, but it depends on where you live in the world and what you need in an e-reader.
Thanks so much for watching. I agree, where you live makes a HUGE difference in which e-reader is for you. The annotation ability is amazing! I’m surprised that Kindle also hasn’t enacted that type of annotation technology.
Thank you for actually giving your opinion and not sitting on the fence. I have an audible subscription and amazon prime so I'll probably go with the new kindle.
You're so welcome. I can't stand videos that still leave me with indecisiveness haha. Yes, kindle is a good fit since you're already in the "ecosystem". The kobo is a cool device. I only have a few books on there and I lost the kobo pen 😫
@@ravenclawreads3177 oh noooo lol that's the kind of thing I do! stepped on my apple pen and snapped it lol
Used to love reading but then discovered audio books and started listening to them while multitasking. Something about actually reading a book though you can't beat. Amazon sale on Tuesday so fingers crossed its discounted xx
Thanks for sharing. I can’t wait for the kindle paperwhite color.
Do you mean the kindle paperwhite or the kobo libra colour? Because there is no current kindle paperwhite colour.
Adding I bet kindle will do the scribe first because no one wants that lol
Same! I’m excited.
I really like your videos. Thanks!!
Aww thanks so much. I’m glad you like them! Tell your friends 🙌🏽
For someone that doesn’t like carrying around or reading in my illustrated hardbacks I will say reading illustrated ASOIF books on my Kobo has been a game changer.
Thanks for watching! I love that! I don’t read a ton of graphics but I can how beautiful they would be on the Kobo.
Yes. Travel books and cook books look wonderful on it!
Thanks for doing this comparison. Weirdly, one thing that I like about the Kobo are the physical buttons. Still not sure about the 'darker' screen on the Kobo. Really enjoyed this, new subscriber!
Thanks for subscribing! I do love the Kobo's buttons. I have an Oasis too and love the buttons lol.
The reason for the library difference is pretty simple indie authors have to make their eBook exclusive to kindle if they want to be included in kindle unlimited. Kobo+ does not have this requirement.
Ah, thanks for watching and the explanation!
So, their books are not available on Kobo then?
All the Indie authors need to do is tell Amazon to stuff it up their asses and move to Kobo.
@@yxmichaelxyyxmichaelxy3074 Yes, Amazon will remove the book from their store if they found out your book is for sale on other sites. The problem is Amazon can and will wait it out. They know that many indie author rely on amazon sales and KU reads to make the majority of their funds. Plus I know many readers who will never leave the kindle ecosystem to buy books elsewhere.
Great job explaining! New subscriber. 🤗
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I hope you enjoy my other content. I appreciate you!
I saw some booktubers who used Calibre to transfer their Kindle books to their Kobos ! But I understand how musch of a hassle that can be if you're okay with staying in the Amazon ecosystem. Thanks for your comparison video!
Thanks! Yes. I did try that and meant to add a blurb. It’s not too bad once you get going. I just didn’t see the need to put books on both devices. I will for sure use the Kobo Overdrive. Thanks for watching.
I heard that with Libby/Overdrive you can only use one library card if u have more than one. I have 4 library cards and not all books are at every library
Thanks for watching! I only have one library card but I have also heard that if you have multiple library cards, you can use all of them to access more books on Libby/Overdrive. I also think that based on the library you have access to, the availability changes.
Thanks. That's great!!
I have 2 library cards on my Libby app.
Did you ever work at Starbucks in 2019 because you look like this lady that used to work there, I definitely will be watching this channel. Awesome video
Hi, thanks for watching! Thanks for visiting the channel more in the future. Nope, never been a barista-lots of teaching though…..🙌🏽🤣 great to have you a part of the community.
@@ravenclawreads3177 you’re welcome, but you really do look like her seriously
You said that your preference is Kindle because the differences don’t outweigh what you have invested in Kindle already. So which would you suggest if you had never owned an e-reader before and were just given both of them to review and given the same books on each reader? 🤔
Ooooh tricky question…..I would still choose Kindle as my preferred drive based on the book availability. However if I lived in Canada, I’d only rock a Kobo. The Kobo is a GREAT device and anyone would be lucky to own either. Ooof there was not a clear winner on that one haha. Thanks for watching.
Do you have a video about getting kindle books over to your kobo?
Not yet, but I can make one.
I'm sorry, but I have just checked out the price of the kobo here in South Africa. A kindle is about 3.5-4K about for a Kindle Paperwhite. A kobo is between 5-8K. I'm sorry, I'm not paying that. I'll be getting another Kindle instead.
Yea, makes sense. Sounds like you already have a kindle? It's a smart choice! Which one are you getting?
Does it still use overdrive? I think that’s one of the best things it does have options to use a kobo plus at 7.99 similar to kindle unlimited or the library app for free checkouts
Thanks for watching! Yes! It does use overdrive which is great. Libby owns overdrive so it’s all the same. The good thing is you can look up books on overdrive from the Kobo store versus on Kindle I have to use my phone or kindle fire. Kobo Plus is also cheaper than Kindle Unlimited per month.
@@ravenclawreads3177 not to mention the writing directly on the books which kindle scribe isn’t doing. I love the light colors on it too for highlighting. You’ve convinced me for Kobo over Kindle 😭 Ty for your review!
Hello! I want that popsocket, how I can search for it?
Thanks for watching! Here’s a link to the pop socket.

How long did you have your kobro Libra 2? I’m heard they don’t last that long
My original one? Since Christmas 2022. It works fine I just can’t juggle to book ecosystems lol.
All of my physical books are in boxes. 🙄
Ugh that’s brutal! I hope you get them out soon. Thanks for watching!
I have most of the things you have. Just not the scribe
Thanks for watching! I love that! Do you have a favorite or go-to?
