    It is a damn shame the algorithm isn’t promoting this better. This is hands down the best explainer out there.

    Great video, one of the best ever on this topic. You should write a book on start-ups if you already haven't.
    I'm a founder of this amazingly simple solution that is so obvious in one of the largest and oldest industries in the world. The whole industry with or without my solution will see a big shift towards the future and the new wave of digital technology. I'm hoping my start up is the beginning of that wave and the clear winner in innovation and overall success when looking 30 years back. It has one of the lowest barriers of entry. One of the largest markets. How do we get in touch? I'm spending a lot of time thinking about raising money and developing a go to market strategy while developing the current version of the product and shipping that into the development. I'm all alone in this. I do believe I can raise quite a nice amount at a really good valuation in 6 months I think that an Angel Investor would make much more sense to me, and thinking who could potentially benefit this I kept thinking and while watching this video I though well it seems like you really know this space and you are very humble about it so I think there is a lot of value any entrepreneur could get from having an investor and a partner like yourself.

    This is a well explained pitch deck layout. Demands a lot of highh quality due diligence from the founders.
    But, how do founders know if the investors they approached are the compatible type - aka know the industry they are investing & eager to help founders instead of (internally) focusing on how much the ROI is on their sides.
    I came across an old video from a VC, in it he mentioned good innovative & ground breaking founders projects are hard to find. Those are the unicorns inspectors are chasing, less than 1% of the typical startups who are looking for fundings.
    My question is, how to seek out qualify investors, and how to find out what the investors bring to the table. It is a 2 way street. It seems to me a lot of investors, including well known ones, are using spray & pray methodology, which is obviously undesirable & irresponsible.

    • @FeeltheBoot
      @FeeltheBoot  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not aware of any magic bullet solutions to this issue. I created this video for angel investors explaining the economics and why they need to be looking for unicorns. th-cam.com/video/_8Bmm2JAipw/w-d-xo.html
      Start by doing some research on investors before you meet them. You can usually find information on their backgrounds and investment history.
      When you meet them, ask about how they can contribute more than money to your business. Also, ask to talk to a few founders of companies they have invested in recently.
      This tends to be a game of statistics on both sides. I see about 1000 pitches every year, and most founders will pitch more than 100 investors before closing their round.

    What made you want to become an angle investor?

    • @FeeltheBoot
      @FeeltheBoot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Angel investors helped me grow my startup. When I had time and resources I wanted to give back to the next generation of entrepreneurs. It is also a great way to be in the startup game without all the incredibly hard work. And hopefully, it will generate good returns as well.

    In your opinion would an Angel investor be best to fund a franchise I wish to start or best through a bank/credit union?

    • @FeeltheBoot
      @FeeltheBoot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are buying a franchise of an existing chain, then banks are the better way to go. Angels want to see an exit delivering 20X or more in 5-7 years. Francises are much lower risk but also lower returns.

    is it a strike against the pitch if the team includes people related to you by marriage, even if they're extremely capable individuals?

    • @FeeltheBoot
      @FeeltheBoot  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a great question. It varies a lot between investors. Some worry that if the couple's relationship breaks down, it will tank the company. My perspective is that is true of any co-founders and married couples are not at greater risk.
      You should show why these people would have been chosen as co-founders regardless of their relationship.

    what about market analysis (TAM etc.)?

    • @FeeltheBoot
      @FeeltheBoot  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great point. Parts 6 and 8 of the episode touch on that obliquely, but investors absolutely care about the size of the opportunity and the fraction you could plausibly get in a best-case scenario.

    Kindly an looking for an investor in hotel business in uganda.

    • @FeeltheBoot
      @FeeltheBoot  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hotels are usually not a great fit for classic Angel Investors. Investors usually like specific kinds of businesses. Look for people who have invested in hotels in Africa in the past. They will be much more open to your opportunity.
