I did beat this solo at grey with empire, but I don’t remember the strat. Id never played it before, but played remake after remake after remake with the same host, who we of course became friends with over this time, and I stayed up SO late trying to beat it, only to have him quit / dc somewhere in the teen-level area. It’s a fun one. And it wasn’t easy. I remember getting AT-ATs I think? I really don’t remember. I do think I killed all the Vaders too, otherwise I feel like it’d stick in my brain that I didn’t REALLY beat it. But to my knowledge it was fully beaten.

So super dated comment that's on an old video, but the mob grouping isn't so much a thing with AI and the mazing. War3 was notorious for this shit back at it's peak with mauls and TDs. When there are too many units on the map at once, the pathing stops being fluid and they group up and walk short distances before they stop. You will notice that when the mob count thins out the pathing becomes consistent and they stop doing the stop/go type of movement. It's kinda why mauls died out as a whole in terms of TDs and things like legion TD and smaller scale TDs took hold because if they were too big, and enemy count was too large, it made the game too easy outside of air just because they bunched up and stayed in the maze way longer than intended.
This is an all time classic... I haven't seen it in over a decade thanks Wtii!!

for mass building, hold SHIFT while clicking, that way you dont need to pick the tower again

So Mauls are just about giving grey all the money so he can kill everything? That sounds like cheating in single player with extra steps.
Gotta put the assault droids closer to the top to attack spawn. The units clump together for a couple seconds. Much better with the aoe damage.
