- In today’s adventure I’m back in my favourite place, the Isle of Wight! I’m taking you on a 4K walking tour of the seafront of Freshwater Bay but as a bonus I’m giving you a tour of my accommodation - the newly refurbished, recently re-opened iconic hotel, The Albion! If you’re looking for places to visit this Autumn then look no further - this is the place to go.
Starting off at the picturesque Afton Down with views of the iconic white cliffs of Tennyson Down with the landmark Needles attraction just behind, walk with me as I make my way down to the beach and show you all the things to see and do.
The Albion Hotel reopened in June this year after a major refurbishment, situated right next to the sea with incredible views towards Stag Rock and the bay. I provide a room tour of my first floor coastal suite, the bar and restaurant and let you know my review.
The next morning I continue my walk through Freshwater and we take a look at some of the tourist attractions and more scenery - Tennyson Down, Dimbola Lodge and the unique St Agnes’ Church.
Perfect for a holiday, couples break, solo trip or somewhere to take the dog, come and see why this spectacular beach is one of the best places to visit on the beautiful island!
If you don’t know me already, I’m Jack and I’m exploring the UK, making travel vlogs as I go. I’d be so grateful for your support, so please do like the video, leave a comment and subscribe to the channel!

Welcome back my dears - as always if you could give the video a thumbs up (just above) it helps me out a great deal. Thanks in advance
Hi! TH-cam isn't letting me leave a comment in the regular way, so I'm having to do a reply instead!? I see why you love the I.O.W ! This looks like a peaceful part of the island , that hotel room was something, bit expensive though. I don't know the I.O.W so it's good to see these videos! Thanks for the tour! 👍🙏
@@sandrafrancis3631 thanks Sandra sorry I missed this yesterday! Glad you enjoyed, my upcoming video will be from another town on the Isle of Wight too 😄
Good evening Jack great video. I use to visit the Albion Hotel frequently, always been a great location. The new Hotel is a bit pricey for IW standards. Look forward to your next video 👍😁😎
Ah thanks Lee, I remember when I came here as a kid there was The Mermaid there as well. Next video (hopefully next Sunday) will be an IOW one too 😄
@@jackryanmiller I look forward to seeing your next adventure. Have a great week 👍😁😎
Great video more of the isle of Wight please
Thanks a lot, my next video is another Isle of Wight one 👍
@@jackryanmiller The sea looks remarkably clean there unlike on the southern mainland
@@Yodaspirit45 yeh that is true, not a sewage dump in sight 😂
@@jackryanmiller Yep 😁👍 how it should be it’s not asking for much
Now it's letting me leave a comment!! Great video! Beautiful part of the l.O.W. looking forward to seeing more videos! Keep up the good work! 👍 🙏
Thanks so much Sandra, it really is one of my favourite places on the island 🤩
You're in Adder country :) I saw a black Adder a few years ago on the Tennyson Trail.
Adders, that was it! I remember seeing a sign about it years ago. That’s so cool
Nice to see, thanks for doing it. The Albion Hotel was where I started my catering career. Started in mid 70s as a 13 yr old, working evenings and weekends & School Holidays, stayed for four yrs, working full time when I left school. Did a variety of jobs, stocking up the bar, cleaning the toilets, peeling onions, skinning fish, sweeping the balconies, cutting the grass, etc, etc! Gave me a good grounding in my work ethics, worked the other side of the world as a chef then ending my full time career as a Catering Manager in Winchester for 20 years. Done a full circle now, as I am semi retired cutting peoples lawns.
Thanks so much for the comment Tim, amazing to hear about your memories from working there, and I bet it was a whole lot different in the 70s
that's great! I spent one week there and I made a video about Cowes and linked with the roots of the English band of Level 42
Love it I’ll check it out 😊
