    I don't see how this would flush out all the coolant in engine block and heater core. Would have to do this severalTimes with plain distilled water until it turns clear running the car to temp making sure it's circulating around the block and heater core.

      At the bottom of the radiator you can only extract approximately two-thirds of the total capacity of the cooling circuit. Indeed the engine block does not have a drain plug on its exterior but the lower part of the engine block and the water pump are internally connected. At the bottom of the water pump (between the pump and the right engine mount) there is a torx valve plug (T-30) that allows the pump and the block to be emptied. Here, you can extract approximately one-third of the pump total refrigerant capacity. To empty the internal heater you must disconnect the left hose in the fire panel to insert a 6 mm diameter and 1 meter long tube to suction or pump about 300 cubic centimeters of refrigerant, in this way you have managed to completely empty the circuit. It may be worth dismantling the right engine mount to remove the cap from the bottom of the cooling pump.
      Greetings.

    Good Vid but you just changed the coolant in the radiator, not the engine block this is not a full coolant change

    Nice one. I got a little.worried as my new corsa doesn't have min. Or max. Markings .. just a COLD sign stating it's about the same level as the end of this video 👍

    • @teravolt6113
      @teravolt6113 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the coolant level you want whenever the engine is still cold and the car is parked on a level surface. It will rise a little to the actual "MAX" as the coolant heats up. It will rise a lot and overflow if the header cap is stuck open.

      +Zsinor Motors Hey , i struggled to flush my car yesterday. I can not find a bottom hose pipe, i only have 2 pipes.
      2 at the top. The left one is TOP Radiator going to Cam Belt section on to Thermostat housing. Very very hard to take it off, it feels like this rubber is very tight on the thermostat housing. The other hose is also right side TOP and next to thinner hose TOP right also. The thin hose goes to the reservoir bottle. The big hose goes I THINK to engine head block.
      What I did was remove bottle thin hose (over flow pipe , let it drain in to pan. I put hose pipe in to bottle and let the water come out from small pipe , eventually the water goes clear.
      I put back small pipe to bottle. and put water back in to bottle and also close cap.
      I idle , turn on heater, plus fan on to 4.
      I let radiator fan come on 2 x.
      I turn off wait for pipe to be cooler.
      I open cap take off overflow pipe, let water flush again , little little old coolant or brown came out.
      I then put garden hose pipe back in to bottle and let overflow pipe drain to floor.
      I also let car idle little bit.
      I was also pressing pipes ...
      Anyways, in the end i put HEPU coolant 1.5 bottle plus new bottle maybe 200 mill . I use maybe 1.7 in total.
      I do not know of my method was good or stupid?
      Please give me advice. Also for me, HEPU coolant very expensive.
      I have maybe 1.3 liter HEPU left and also 5 litre of DISTILLED water which i never use yet.
      I want to know if need to use different method and if my way was stupid.
      If you like i can show you picture of my car engine.
      Thank you Zsinor Motors

    • @jeffjeffjeff2

      On my 1.2 it was 2.6 litres but then this type of drain just does what's in the radiator, not the entire system.

      It seems pretty diluted IMHO. Something like 40% antifreeze and 60% distilled water.

    red coolant? are you using Paraflu™?

    • @teravolt6113
      @teravolt6113 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Red coolant is a type of coolant made with OAT (Organic Acid Technology) for engines that contain aluminum parts and for long servicing intervals (the green one needs to be replaced every 2 years, but 5 years is generally ok for the red type). It's made by a lot of producers.

    • @____________6324
      @____________6324 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i have the Motul inugel Optimal with Organic Acid Technology. a lott better than the standard G12 or G13
      The engine now stays cool between 85° and 87° degree. With the standaard coolant it keeps getting warm between 92° and 96° and kicking the fan.
