It was then the late president suggested thatthe grant should have a lasting impact between the peoples of Zimbabwe and China. Parliament building had been a facility that Zimbabwe had long struggled to build for the past 37 years. The first plan was on the hill of Kopje. But due to the rapid congestion and lack of space in Harare, Mazoe was next considered, together with Nyabira. Finally Mt Hampden in Zvimba was chosen as suitable for developinganew Capital City due to its easy connectivity by road air and telecommunications. This grant was then used to build the new parliament there to benefit the national public for generations to come and strengthen Zimbabwe/China relations.
Notice that the ceiling of the building has got some khoisan art work on it,what a way to give hommage to the Original inhabitants of present day Zimbabwe.
