It is a gift. President Xi offered Zimbabwe a financial grant when he visited Zimbabwe during the time of the late president Mugabe for public construction. It was then the late president suggested thatthe grant should have a lasting impact between the peoples of Zimbabwe and China. Parliament building had been a facility that Zimbabwe had long struggled to build for the past 37 years. The first plan was on the hill of Kopje. But due to the rapid congestion and lack of space in Harare, Mazoe was next considered, together with Nyabira. Finally Mt Hampden in Zvimba was chosen as suitable for developinganew Capital City due to its easy connectivity by road air and telecommunications. This grant was then used to build the new parliament there to benefit the national public for generations to come and strengthen Zimbabwe/China relations.

    Beside political tricks,
It's good idea to develop another HARARE city centre .I m tired of driving though Samora Micheal

If China gives Africa a gift it is from the heart. If America gives a gift to Africa it has motives. But if the two newscasters thinks that there are bad motives from China then don't accept it. Perhaps the two newscasters should ask from America.

My question is why is china build parliament in other country so Zimbabwean government they are happy to get that parliament from Chinese why since 1980 Zimbabwe did build them self parliament to is a shame somebody come to build me a house in my home as they more resources can fund my self

    • @africanadage852
      @africanadage852 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@Niconko La. That question is a rhetorical one, as one can say, why has China built the Tazara railway line OR the new Kenyan railway system including rolling stock? Why did China built a Massive airport extension and road infrastructure in Zambia? It is simply the project that country requires. Zimbabwe has a bicameral system where the national assembly and the Senate seat in separate chambers. The new parliament would accommodate both houses to seat in one chamber.

It’s a good building that will add value to Harare or Zimbabwe but there’s nothing like free lunch anywhere. China is certainly getting something in exchange for it like they’re doing with other African cities including my own native country.

The oblique and obvious criticism and suspicion of China is shameful and seems to reflect the bigotry and hate imported by the West and repeated by some Africans.
When the British stole Kenya and Nigeria, oppressed its people, set up death camps and got rich stealing from both countries, no a word of apology or reparations was ever made- many Africans said nothing.
Yet, the British can come to these lands, smile and shake hands , get treated like they floated from Heaven and everyone is soooo happy that Prince and Princess who ever the Hell they are- came to our land. How sickening.
      When the Dutch invaded South
Africa, enslaved it's people, murdered its people, got filthy rich from exploitation, not a word of apology or reparations was ever made- then the Dutch insult you every year with the racist mockery of " Black Pete" and no one says a word but you cast aspersions on the Chinese.
The Belgians bloodsucked Congo, stole everything and killed more than 10million,yet the Belgians have NEVER apologized, and NEVER even thought about reparations for what they stole- yet they can still come to your land and you smile when they show up. Sad and Crazy.
The Nazi Germans stole an entire country, oppressed and brutalized the Namibians, causing the word genocide to be used and STILL control Namibia, promising to NEVER apologize for their murderous filth- yet you say nothing.
The Chinese have never been invaders, never been colonizers, never slave traders and have NEVER spilled ONE drop of African blood, yet they are to be viewed with suspicion and hostility.
Africa, China is your friend. They Americans are certainly NOT, they'll gladly teach and train you to kill each other, yet you welcome them.
The Chinese have thrown open the doors if it's universities to African students and educate many in science, technology, engineering, medicine and manufacturing. Americans only want you to kill
      I don't get it.
Embrace China. If Mr. Mugabe did, then China is ok with me and I will embrace them too.
Leave the West alone, they'll only bring bloodshed, death, destruction and their unique racism.
This include hateful, racist, Zionist Israel too.
