I’m in a CFS relapse after being 80% recovered. This is where I struggle the most. Im house bound again and when the symptoms flare beyond my base line I get so scared that I’ll never get my life back. My ocd and anxiety makes me spiral. It’s so hard. I’m doing brain retraining though and I know it’s working… it’s just hard dealing with the ups and downs.

@@kala9907 yeah that makes sense. I’ve noticed that it is important for me to allow myself to feel the fear that comes up to be present, and not pretend it’s not there and cover it with more thoughts since this is stressing me. The order in which to do this that works best for me is: 1. acknowledge the feeling 2. look at it from an objective, curious point of view so as to take its power, and 3. telling myself that I’m safe in my body
This channel and your words are really helping me on my way. I am now dealing with my symptoms for about 1 year, 7 months strongly. But as I could let go of the most of my fears it started to improve. Thank you so much for your work und support, Miguel!!!
These are such good points! I say similar things to clients. Your emotions actually influence your hormones and immune responses. Your body creates symptoms by what it believes is going on. They are real symptoms, but they are the body's response to the beliefs that you hold. If you learn to face what your body is manifesting matter of factly, you will teach your body to produce chemicals that promote a parasympathetic state. One of the ways to get into parasympathetic mode more quickly is to consume something sweet (without guilt). A lot of times stress is put on the nervous system because the brain does not have enough glucose to operate sufficiently. The body can make its own glucose from protein or use some ketones, but both of those processes are the body's emergency system for supplying glucose to the brain and it is hard to get enough ATP from this. I advise people to stay away from low carb diets and instead increase nutrient rich carbs like fruit, orange juice, honey and maple syrup.

Have you ever had covid or long covid? I fully recovered from LC but it all came back after food poisoning and then again after a bad reaction to a probiotic. Miguel, I remember watching your video where you said that your body would feel on fire. I have constant burning and pins and needles all over my body and head. Did you have to take supplements to help your burning pain, or did it go away on its own?

Hey miguel ,how can i respond well if my muscles are not working if my brain is shutting down my legs and all the other muscles? That it really scarry and i cannot pull back more. Should i then not going to the bathroom ,because i had to and it worked the last 3 weeks ,i was able to watch light films or relaxing TH-cam Videos to destract me from my own thoughts. Sadly audio books or podcats are not possible because sensitive to sound but not to light anymore. I was affraid two days ago bec of low heart rate and yesterday i needed to go 5 times to the bathroom instead of 3-4 times and at the end of the day i felt my legs are giving out,the same feeling that Puts me in bed 5 months ago legs and back giving out. Because i am still bedridden i csnnot really pulling back more. I am doing less screen time again but my legs still are shutting down. Do you have a concrete advice? I was able to sit yesterday for 5 minutes today not even 20 seconds. I cannot pull back all screen time bevause it is the only way to distract me. It is scarry when you hit a wall with your legs, but like i said, physically i cannot pull back more, do you have an advice for me? I would really appreciate it 😊 And by the way the other symptoms that flared up not bothering me. Should i go to the bathroom with help. I think if i would stop it i would tell my body going to the bathroom is dangerous, so should i push through it?
I would say that the symptoms are not my Problem so there is no way to respond to it. My Problem is the capacity drop. If i am bedridden for 5 months and then i do something and i had a little bit more capacity and then i am going in an AP and this AP Took away again the capacity then i am again completly in bed for 3 months again. That is my Problem. How should i get out of that stage if breaking out of that stage forces my body to a shut down again? 5 years ago i had only symptoms and weak muscles i had symptoms through the roof but i did not care because i did not know that it was cfs so i stayed calm and i had no drop in capacity. So i was out of the symptoms in 4, months. Now bedridden is different, you cannot come out of it it will put you immediatly back in bed again if you are doing a little bit to much and then you are lying there another bunch of months. So how can i come out of bed. Like i said i am not fearing symptoms, buzzing etc. Only muscle shutdown and take away energy because that Puts me agsin in bed. Miguel do you have an advice? .
@@LydiaNorris no energy has consequenzes because it crashes you, pain is not taking away capacity. Sure you have pain and buzzing but the same capacity. It is so real running out of energy and getting worse. You can do the same thing over weeks and feeling great with it, suddenly the energy is gone. How can i trust things to do, if i am feeling great but in reality i am empting my Tank day by day until crash. How can i avoid that, it is real and make me worse again. Buzzing is only buzzing, yeah discomfort but harmless, but with no energy it is different
So what I’m having trouble with at times is feeling gratitude. Sometimes visualizations will send me a jolt of anxiety, and even the feelings of it send me into a wave of anxiety. Pretty sure it’s my brain not wanting me to feel anything other than whatever this MCAS shit is
Same. Most of the time visualisations didn't work. The gap to where I was, was to big. I can do them now, but now I am symptom free most of the time. When I felt worse it was more usefull to work on acceptance, or surrendering and feeling my feelings. Same with gratitude. Forcing yourself to be gratefull while going through the most difficult time of your life, is not working. You learn with time what is working and what isn't and it is allways changing. Now I can do so much and sometimes I feel almost normal. I allways think, I must be so thankfull. But I am not. I am angry a lot. So I let myself be angry. I was very gratefull some months prior, but not now. Thats fine. I am sure in some weeks I will be gratefull again.
