@@VishwasRavindran with electrification getting completed, it will end the era of diesel locos , perhaps some may be used for shunting. over a period of time it would also diminish.

@@VishwasRavindran Already IR has issued orders not to use Alcos in mainline duties after 31 3 2024. Almost 99% of alcos are on sideline shunting duties only and 1% still counting their days in mainline duties because of loco shortage issues. May be 2024 will be last year for alcos in main line and soon followed by passenger variant EMD also. Nearly 80% of passenger variant EMDs are idling at many D loco sheds especially in BGKT, TKD sheds where EMD holding is very high
