- The Pneumatic Striking Snake Halloween Prop is the newest addition to my graveyard.
One correction, the solenoid is a 4 way, 5 port model. You may notice, I also had to reverse the cylinder so that the flow control valve was on the right side instead of the left. I tried to hide it under the snake but the snake would occasionally catch on it so I put it on the other side.

Whoa! That looks neat! I didn't think I'd want a snake in my haunt because I didn't believe it would fit in, but with your set up there, that's almost a universal prop, regardless of the setting. I like it! A lot! Great job, Steve. As Ram said, as usual.

That is too cool!!! Like how the corpse is more of a distraction, really adds to the over all effect and scare. Great job.
It turned out pretty cool

Looks really good Steve, I see there's only a bit of gangsta going on there, LOL. I definitely think a spitter would work great on this prop. Nice staging with it as well, pairing it with the coffin and the skeleton.
Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions.
I've added a link in the video description for the thread detailing the prop controller I built. I hope this helps answer any questions but feel free to post to the thread if it doesn't.
The reason I'm hesitating on installing a spitter is that from where the snake's head is, he'll only spray on people's legs and it will likely not even be noticed. Plus I'd have to redesign the coffin to fit the sprayer I use inside. Still haven't ruled it out.
LOOKS GREAT. GOOD JOB.
Looks good
After the snake returns the skeleton needs to rise and reach for help. And you definitely need a spitter.
nice snake! i was watching the transworld and i saw the snakes they had and wow makes me want to do something with snakes. great job and good idea!
Thanks for the inspiration with your build. I'm looking forward to your how to videos.
Very Cool. Thumbs up!
I used a Picaxe micro controller. There's a link in the description to a thread where the development of the board is discussed.
awesome !!! go with the spitter !!! HFL!!
That one is going to cause alot of people to jump out of their skin! Great work! Any information on the prop controller? Tutorial or how-to or perhaps pointing us in the right direction so that we an build our own? Very interested in making my own controllers.
I showed this video without sound to a friend today. Just the finished build. He said " oh it just shakes like that thats coo...OH SHIT" and dang near jumped out of his wheelchar! Mission accomplished in daylight. He said he was waiting for the dead guy to reach out.
that is so wicked looking 8D i like it
This is awesome! Which pneumatic did you use? Thanks!
Your snake is scary!!
very cool!
Very cool.
NICE
Check the description for the new link to the development thread on HauntForum. I hope you decide to make the jump into building your own controllers.
Thanks Rich. That was holding be back from adding this prop to my haunt as well until I came up with the idea to put it with the coffin. Glad to hear others think it works.
Thats is very cool Steve, we have that exact same snake I think....as that one looks familiar.
That will be a great scare and a spitter would be a fantastic addition! Great Job!
That was awesome! Where did you get the project box that you had the controller in?
Now that's an idea for next year's upgrade!
I got the box from pactecenclosuresDOTcom
i really like this prop! i made a static anaconda last year and i would love to mod it to do something like this but i don't mess around with pneumatics or animatronics just yet. very cool piece!
Nice fluid movement, mechanics works great.
That's Awesome

Very cool!
